Start date for school? Sweetness that you're continuing your education and shit... wish I had time right now, but I'm working two jobs right now, and wifey is going to school and working a PT job... so I'm pretty much tapped out.

But, after she's out of school, I'll be working a full time job (or not working at all, depending on how much she makes.) and start going back to school for auto... probably special reconstruction/restoration, which teaches fabrication and such as part of the course requirements.

Not sure where I'm going to go, but it has to be somewhere close to home, since we're probably buying a place this Sunday.

Yea, unfortunately I will be in a nice hole of debt by the time its all said and done, but afterwards, it shouldn't be a problem.

I had originally planned on just going to a local college for automotive and welding, but had no real plans on what to do afterwards. Then one of my friends got accepted into NTI, so I finally started looking into it, because I'm not a huge fan of NASCAR, but the courses are exactly what I was wanting, plus some. I would enjoy working on the cars, its still racing, but eventually maybe I can move on to some other type of racing, one that involves more right hand turns :)

So I owed $4,620 to the courts of California for unpaid tickets and all sorts of traffic violations and shit. Then I owed Arizona 165$ for a speeding ticket I got in 2003.

I haven't had a license since like 2003/04ish.

I finally was able to pay off everything I owed and as soon as I get my clearance letter in the mail from Arizona, I have to go pay 28$ at the DMV for a re-issue fee and I'll be able to drive again.

I hope I can find a decent CRX to buy around here.

Well on the way to Wilmington this weekend my car started acting like it was starved of fuel again...hadn't acted that way in over a month, was fine on th way back, so i'm figuring that i'm going to have to replace the fuel pump

amy@af
08-04-2008, 11:13 AM
not saying it's not the fuel pump however, we've changed more main relays than I can count vs only 1 fuel pump. the relay does strange things when it's loosing contact internally but not yet to the broken stage.

if you know how to soldier it's 100 times over easier to pull the main relay, take it apart, and touch up the contact points compared to dropping the gas tank to replace the pump.

it's something that takes mins vs something that takes hours and is a more common problem...worth a try.

ever try the main relay?

not as common but another problem I have seen 10 billion times more than fuel pump is a bad ignitor....

why do I suddenly say this? because a bad ignitor will make it feel like it's studdering, falling on it's face as the ignitor goes bad. then 1 day you get in and no go at all.

the easy check for this is to got out side as it's getting dark (but obviously not too dark, you need to see) and do the ol' check for week spark test.

you have my number. call in the evening and you might even get Jer

Tony
08-05-2008, 09:15 PM
Hahaha...everytime I call you hand me over to Jer. I really need to get my other ED going, decided to go OBD1 with it, so I gotta get a harness.

My white hatch stopped sputtering, but every once in a while, my tach starts going nuts above 3k rpms, once it warms up its good. Afraid the ignitor might be it, lol.

Tony

Possibly because I wasn't too sure about the distributor you got anyways. I just got mine from the distributor king back in like November or something and its supposed to have an upgraded ignitor, and I think mine is messing up.

LoL Tony, that's because by the time you call it's only because you have determined online it's an off the wall problem and you call me cuz you lost his number :icon16:

if you just put the dizzy on then I would assume the problem started shortly after.

code 1 is just telling you the o2 sensor is bad but that shouldn't make your car run like butt.

all I know is we've been doing this a long time and I would hate for you to spend a day messing around with the gas tank.

i'll shoot you a pm with the digits...dont loose it this time :nono:

No clue there man. Do what I do when I'm stumped...call Ami, and then feel like a noob asking Jer questions.

well unfortunatly i can't call b/c we have no home phone here and my wife has the cell phone...but i did get this reply

Sounds like main relay or ignition coil, both could cause that if they are under a load and get hot.

But normally a bad main relay would cause a no start condition in temperatures like the ones we have been having. A bad fuel pump would also cause a no start condition unlike what you said you are having.

Sound more like a bad coil or bad igniter since it practically bogs (weak spark) then starts back up fine since the cars computer basically restarts the whole process of running the car

holy crap....is it stuffed in the back next to hoffa?

first I would like to say, nobody realizes they can open their main relay and fix it.

second thing is I've been saying ignitor but make no mistake, the coil is just as guilty. they like to help each other fail...as if buying 1 brand new isn't ridicilous enough.

I have a few DPFI dizzy's laying around for parts... Problem is this: It will take awhile for me to get up to where they are...

If you don't have something by then, I'll test up the ignitors and coils, and shoot you one quick in the mail... dun worry about cost, I'll get it out there if you haven't found something by then... if I even have a good one.
