well i found an 88-91 SI harness on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/90-91-HONDA-CIVIC-SI-ENGINE-HARNESS-CRX-1-6-NON-VTEC_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ46098QQihZ009QQite mZ190210214997QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
and the guy selling the car wrote that used a jumper to convert to OBD1
so it's a converted obd1? running on p61? just asking. wonder why it wont start. :/ skipped a tooth or two?
no the engine was out of an 92' Gs-R (gray plug obd1,) its running a jdm B16a old-school whatever the hell it is ecu, with an white-plug harness, which is obd0... and what tooth are you talking about skipping? they have timing belts, and the cap and rotors only go on 1* way ???? and a distributor adjustment would correct any minor timing settings ????
the car ran when it was parked it hasn`t been driven since. i just replaced the battery(it would not hold a charge), the injector seals (they had become dry rotted and leaked and sprayed gas everywhere), its currently getting gas,and power, there is no spark, and i`m going to check the coil.
i don`t see why you are referring to a mechanical problem, when the car hasn`t moved in months ????? and it ran great when it was parked ???
The harness is the source of the problem. Using a repair manual and the process of elimination, it has boiled down to the (White) signal wire being bad. you can "jump it" and it should work if done properly. but there is a week power supply (w/new battery), and the wiring is 17 years old. i would replace the harness if i had one. but i`m sure its worth it to someone who wants the car to buy it for $2000 and fix it themselves.
i'll see if he'll do $1500...but if i do this then i have to get it running by the end of the week b/c the wife and kids are going out of town for spring break...hopefully it'll only take a day to get right

I would certainly run this on my car, looks bitchin and way easy to setup. And just in time for my engine swap!

well i think i made up my mind since the other guy won't go to $1500...$2400 for:
Red 1990 Honda Civic Si had the following::::Ls integra motor swap with type R pistons ,has ARP rod bolts ,all new gaskets ,t-belt and seals are new ,new clutch and light weight fly wheel and rear main seal was replaced aswell. Has short throw shifter ,after market exhaust system ,alpine head unit ,but has no speakers(removed them to install them in my new project SI. The car has 260k miles but engine and transmission have about 90k on them .The rims in this photo are not the ones coming with this car.(factory rim). Car runs very strong(smokes alittle). All wok performed on this car has been done by me(I am a 11 year honda tech at Leith Honda...................

car has some other CTR engine parts and a Yakima roof rack that i can sell for about $250...and that's the price with the rota slips with new tires...from what i could tell it needs a camber kit and it has valve chatter---that's about it...went to look at it today but didn't test drive it b/c it was raining

I dunno, I dont like the (smokes alittle) on a built engine. Especially not for 2500.
Btw, no idea wtf a d15a1 is. I could only find ANYTHING to do with a d15a2 and a3, the a2 was carb, the a3 was pgmfi. Still the blue one looks like a very nice find. and for that price id rock it (minus the wheels of course. I also am liking the turbo one alot. But its gotta be pricey.
The blue is an 88 though, and I never liked 88-89 and especially not 88 (stamped steel lca's *shudder*) But still, id prolly drive it.

Speaking of engines (and post-whoring a bit) Im going to go pick up my y8 tomorrow!!! YAY!
I also managed to get the tranny for FREE. he wanted 400 engine alone, then 450 together (told him I didnt want/couldnt afford the tranny)
Then he said 425 so id have money for some gas....then (and I knew it would come to this) he said he didnt want the hassle of parting the two and said I could have the tranny. Both of which have only 89k miles on them. Im ecstatic.

H-T annoys me so much. I can't understand why so many people go on there complaining about their cars running like garbage, give some random info as to why they believe it's not running right, and then say "oh yeah, it's flashing a code for an O2 sensor, because I don't have one hooked up. Does that make a difference?"
And then there's the people who try to answer questions about wiring up different engine swaps, and don't know sh*t. Apparently the end-all-cure-all wiring solver for an OBD1 engine in an OBD2 car or OBD2 engine in an OBD1 car, is an OBD2 to OBD1 conversion harness. Even if you're putting an OBD2 engine in an OBD1 car, you still need the OBD2 to OBD1 ECU conversion harness. :screwy: It's completely insane. 1 person writes something, someone else reads it and completely misunderstands the original context for the answer, then they give that answer out to as many questions as possible, and then someone else reads it and does the same damn thing. All while the original person who asked the question, and freely admitted not knowing the answer, is utterly confused by the completely different answers. :runaround:

Blu, I like the blue one... minus the wide mouth grill on the front bumper.
Frodo, congrats on the y8.
I will have to postpone any plans of a vehicle for some time it seems. Gotta pay some bills for awhile. With gas prices as they are and getting 15mpg city in the Jeep, I don't even go anywhere and I drive like well, a Turtle.
The wife's vw is still for sale. I'd be happy to trade it in and get at least $3k for it even though it may be worth slightly more. The wife likes the Ep3 because it's newer. I like it because well, it's bad ass and with only 20k miles it'll last even if I finance payments for a looooong time. The wife likes the Fit S too but I don't know. The mileage is there but it's like having a civic dx with a d15b2 only brand new. Who the hell wants to pay taxes, insurance on a brand new car that isn't much faster than a riding mower? j/k LOL

congrats on finally getting a Y8 frodo...
I finally got the engine in the other civic, didn't feel like doing the wiring, so I just put the DPFI mani back on... I'll worry about hte wiring when I put the ZC engine in... then again, when that time comes, I'll worry about alot more things too...
Got the CRX Si dash in.. few problems, doesn't quite fit right... it's a little narrow at teh sides, a little low in the middle for the center bolt... other than that, and the cluster hood doesn't like the sedan's steering column, no problems to speak of.
All of those things could be easily fixed if I cared that much.

YAY BLU! Welcome back to the family.
...I want a civic with a sunroof :(
Got the tranny off and put it on a stand today..mainly just so I could get the oil pan off. I noticed the inside of the bellhousing was black with oil and I suspected the rear main seal. After I got the clutch and flywheel off I found that it was the seal, but not the crankshaft portion. It was the rtv sealant on the block-side of the seal, so no worries Ill just redo it.

I think you mods keep switching up user names just to make us think we're crazy :screwy: I'm pissed I can't remember the old name now :banghead:
Some bastage scraped the hell out of my car this morning at the gym. I came out to a nice long scrape along my bumper from the wheel well to thr curve under my headlight. I think I know which car it was too. :angryfire

Us mods would NEVER play tricks on you like that.... :evillol:
As for you car... either call the person out on it.... or tie some rope around their bumper and drive away

i'd call them out, but look at their car for damage first...i don't understand people...unless you don't have insurance, why drive away?

No no no, don't call them out on it. If you call them out on it, and they deny it, they'll know it was you that payed them back for their stupidity.

I'm torn on what to do. I didn't see my prime suspect in the parking lot today... and its not a big lot at all. Its somebody with an orange Eclipse, one of the new ones so their car is easy to spot. And I believe I saw a girl getting out of it once, but I'm not sure. At least if its a hot girl I might be able to make somethin of it... or I could just shake her til she cries.

Yeah. Power isnt as important as handling in auto x. Not at all. here was a b18c1 swapped crx that was running slower than when it had a single cam in it. too much damn wheelspin and useless power. Hell, last month half the field got school by a damn yaris! I was cheering him on. And I was like .1 sec off of a porsche. this month im gonna do soooo much better, if I dont blow my clutch out. I just went for a post shock pre race test drive and the camber adjustments REALLY helped my snap oversteer problem, which was scary as hell. the same corner I spun in I took last night with pergect balance if not a tad understeer, which im fine with.
Really alot of the stuff you mentioned blu is just kinda wish list name dropping. Most of it is unnecessary to buy it from that manufacturer etc. Like the 20 dollar set of ebay strut bars that you can get. Mine gets tight as a drum, and has no flex. Or why rear camber kits? 6 bucks at home depot and I adjusted my camber all it will ever need to be adjusted. Ill give you the tein ss pillowballs, im sure they are nice..if not insanely pricey. Id be more than happy with a set of koni yellows and ground control springs. You can get them in any spring rate you desire.

that's not wish list name dropping...i've done the washers for my rear camber, the ebay front camber kit, the ebay strut bars, and a lot of other stuff for my past civics and decided that i want this civic done right...so everything i mentioned will be going on this civic :smooch:
guy at my job just bought a set of koni yellows and ground controls but i've always wanted a set of Tein SS...i've heard that the pillowmounts make the ride rough but you can add the EDFC with no problems
