I made the blink screenname when i was like 15. while i still like blink 182, i've kinda moved on i guess. plus, everyone else has cool 3/s names...Stealthee, SL3000gt, TorchedStealth, etc. I felt left out lol

Oh that's cool. It will take me a while to get used to the new name though!
I like to incorporate my car in my name too as you can tell. On the LSJ forums I frequent, my name is InfraRedline...kinda lame but I like it.

mine's dumb as hell. i only did it because i know vector's pretty well, and for some dumb ass reason when i joined it was b/c of AF having a vector section...lots of good that's done.
now what does your name mean? last name or something?
Sl: chances are since it's a rotory, it's been rebuilt sometime in the past. stronger parts, possible better rear end(better rear grip then mentioned ls1) better intake or exhaust. even if the kid isnt telling you the whole story to his car, he could be holding something back, like o i forgot to mention the motor is a tri rotor out of an r1 rx7, which pushes 300hp in a 2700lb car. have you seen his engine, all rx7's had 1.3l rotors, so unless you see the intercooler or turbo's, you can't tell which it is. some people aren't ricers but sleeper builders

Nope, it is just a bolt-on n/a rotary on stock motor according to him. I guess if it is something different it wouldn't be so much of a sleeper as it would be a lie. ie. he did a LS1 swap, is in fact turbo'd, etc.

this made sense to me. to clarify it, this is from rennlist, it's how to make the air flow in my air intake better. here's the original post:
i read that theres a spring on AFM that operates a flap allowing air through, then matching the fuel and cumbustion occurs. for all those lost already, in that little box right after the air filter box(87 n/a). then after that there's a horribly designed intake system that does anything but free flow air.
i was thinking of(don't kill me!) using an advanced auto cold intake(cause it's smooth and strait) from the intake plenum foward. now i relize with that sensor i'd have to retain it for the car to opperate. how can i remove the spring inside it so the flap stays open...or basically use the cold air intake, without messing up the sensor.
plus the shape of the intake, a lil bend at thte tip, would allow the intake air to come in just as fresh as though through the fender
note: no bitching please, it doesn't seem like there's much out there for n/a's. though a cold air wont give much if any power, it'll sound better and hell you never kno what it could do.

Well, after getting out of the ER tonight I have decided that my home defense weapons will remain in place until they are absolutely needed. I have a Cold Steel Tactical Ti Lite knife that can be drawn out at the speed of a switch blade and things went wrong. Here is a picture at the ER of my leg nearly missing the artory:

I had double-layered stiches because it was so deep they put 10 down inside the wound, and then 10 on top. Then they topped it off with a tetnis shot. The reason it happend is the knife has quillions on it. The quillions basically stick out of the knife a little and are meant to be caught on a piece of clothing or the knee in order to make the knife deploy like a switchblade. Well, I was trying to run one across my knee to deploy the knife and it caught on my arm first which deployed it before I got to my leg so that when I ran the knife across my leg, it was already open. And if you have ever owned a Cold Steel knife you know how sharp they are. And I will tell you what it hurts about 100 times more this morning than it did last night. This was the knife used:

hey guys, its been a while. so long, i had to look up my own posts to see when i last posted: around june 2008. so sorry my visits are short and far apart. once i moved to New Orleans, i fell in love with carpentry and home building through my employer. [don't worry, i still love to work with my hands on cars, too.] and my car fell to the wayside. then it was vandalized: rear hatch glass broken, nice JL Audio amp stolen.
took me a while to get the windshield fixed. all the while i got a promotion at work to construction supervisor and got a girlfriend. serious girlfriend now 1 year later. but the car sits and hasn't been started in 2 months. it just needs a jump....along with all the fluids changed. i ALMOST wanted to sell it, depressed as i don't have time to enjoy it anymore. i've been working 7 days a week for the past 2 months, but that will change with the new year.
don't work yourself to death, its not fun, especially when you neglect your health. but i purchased another amp to replace my stolen one, and i'll mount it under the driver or passenger seat adn relocate it for security purposes.
now i'm kinda getting excited about getting the car running. i've fixed my old laptop and i now have more consistent internet access. though the girlfriend and i are pretty serious, she's moved to AZ for medical school, and i'm still in New Orleans. all in all, i miss working on and enjoying my car, but i have to balance that with my new-found love for carpentry and home building.
its good to hear what you've all been up to, reading through the past 10 pages. i'll hopefully be on more frequently from now on. good to be back, i've missed you guys.

It will be good to have you back.
On the working yourself to death I agree whole heartedly.
I've been at my current employer for a little over 4 years now.
In my first year there I worked 345 hours of OT from just March to the end of the year.
I have purposely made it go down over the past few years and this year I have only worked 140 hours of OT.
I told my boss one day that I work to live and I don't live to work. If he couldn't accept that then he could get rid of me.
I've worked 2 Saturdays this year. One in January for inventory and one this month for inventory.

i did see how you got your "bum" leg, a few pages back. i wouldn't so much call it a "bum" leg as more of a "dumbass" leg, lol. we all make mistakes. i have my share scars to show for my bone head moves. my favorite is when i was moving empty wood pallets, i let go to drop it, thinking 100% in my mind that i knew where my feet were and it would miss my foot no problem. errr....it just knicked my big toe, and i had a black toe there for a while before the nail came off entirely.
i haven't shot myself with a nail gun, YET, but they say its not a matter of IF but WHEN.

I've still been tied up, been building a house so I have been saving money and haven't messed with my car, but recently i freed up some extra money and just bought a TD05 header kit, so I'll be tearing down the jpdc adapter plate kit. The kit is great if you have the time to make it work, but i don't have the time, and now i think i didn't sit my headgasket correctly. Lots of work, but i'm going to try to free up more time to get it finished.

why a crossfire? from what i've heard they're not very reliable
on the injuring yourself area: i'm a professional. i went to fix my xbox 360 and it slid out of my hand and riped my right forarm a new one, bout an inch long, it never bled on the surface which goes to show how deep it was. i have scars from working in kitchens when i was 16 so almost 6yrs later they're still there.
as for working your ass off, i said f that a long time ago, ok like a few weeks ago. i decided to go to school. i work now at a deli for 30hrs a wk. i'll leave for school in Exton, PA(north of philly) for UTI automotive technology. my plan is after attending that school to go and attend the Porsche Acedemy in Atlanta, GA. lots of little things to do to qualify for it, but i want it, and i'll get it. then i won't have to spend out the ass to get my car fixed, i should be able to do it.
i mean i could now, but don't have the confidence level to do it on my own, and no1 i know can really help if i screw up

I dont know where you heard Crossfires arent reliable?
The are reskinned Mercedes SLK's.
I even searched and saw no major problems with reliability.

i didn't mean unreliable, but in an accident they don't tend to come out looking that good.

That I know nothing about, but they are a small car and small cars tend not to do so well in accidents.

I wasn't sure about safety either but it looks like they actually made out with some steriling ratings.
