I wasnt 100% coherent when I posted that last night, but now I am and the posts are flat out gone.

As a mod I can see things that were deleted, etc and there is not even a hint they ever existed. Then again there were major issues with the DB when I posted mine. It took awhile and then it double posted. I went back and deleted the second one but now they are all gone. :wtf:

So I need some help....how do you buy a new car without getting screwed by the dealership? I know "research research research" but what constitutes a good deal? Here's what we have:

My sis wants to get a 2008 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport. KBB prices the MSRP around my area at $20,640.00, invoice at $19,648.00. However, I heard that dealerships get an additional 10% or so off the invoice price when purchasing cars from the factory. They want to sell it to us at $19,800.00 (out the door) but we offered $19,000.00 out the door and they said no. Yes, we want to lowball...but so what? They screw everyone anyways, right? LOL

Anyways, is there any way of getting the price to go any lower or is the final price that they offered good enough and that's it, no more bargaining!?!

Let me know your thoughts guys...cause we've never purchased a new car before so any experience/help you have will be very very much appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

but 19800 seems like a decent deal to me....though, if you've done your research you probably know better than any of us here.

One thing KBB doesnt take into effect is the current economic climate, along with all this gas price panic crap. It's really tough to nail down a value nowadays, but to quote someone on AF..."a car is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it"

Unreal nobody has posted here in the long. Well, I quit my job today. My boss is one year older than me (21) and thought he could run a huge business that was his dad's. Well he only hires illegal hispanics and expects me to be in charge of all of them even though I get paid next to nothing more. Well, he only freaks out on me and when this guy freaks he literally starts screaming. Well yesterday he made a mistake and thought that it took me a lot longer to do a job than it actually did. In fact, I did it 1/2 hour faster than the last two people who did this job. (I was a landscaper) Anyway, he flips out when he finds out how long it took and then realized that I did it right on schedule and doesn't apologize but then just leaves. Anyway he comes back out of the building screaming at me so loud that 2 people from inside came out to see what was happening. Well, while he is almost in tears of being stressed out I start laughing about the fact that he is so upset over something that I did not even do wrong and he storms inside. He then sends me a text this morning saying, "don't even bother coming into work today." I wrote him back, "don't bother worrying about it because I don't work for you anymore." Felt very good. And now he doesn't have anyone to supervise the 20 or more illegal immigrants that he has hired...most speaking almost no English. Lol, if he thought he was stressed before, he is going to kill himself now lol. Oh....kids. :lol:

Or keep the stealth fix the tranny *2nd gear synchro and 6th gear shift fork* and buy the 15g to complete the motor......

well, imma say fix the stealth, but i'm looking at bikes too. so tough choice.

i dont know, could b wrong, but u dont need the 6th gear fork, can't it still run properly if u just use up till 5th. but if ur gonna get the synchro done, get the fork done, trans is already open.

yea theres a vid on youtube of his 1348 AWHP dyno pull...pretty insane stuff. I love the fact that the intake sticks out of the hood like a foot! :eek:

I say fix the stealth...but i'm very bias. I'm a 3/s fan, and bikes hold no appeal for me, not to mention your stealth is a fairly rare one. You know how many yellow stealths there are for sale on autotrader nationwide? 2.
Even if you still do decide to sell it, it will sell for a lot more if it's fixed. When you go for a time without driving a 3/s, you tend to forget how much you love driving it. So i say fix it and give it one last chance before selling it. It's really a win win situation since you should get the money you spend to fix it back if you sell it.

1) i've gone almost a yr without driving, i still wanna drive it, everyday

2) i think there were 1500 yellow stealths produced...that includes all levels, base, r/t, and r/t tt. average of 500 in each version. than the rarities of thte options and interior color, pretty rare. only seen one other, that was in palm springs in a ferrari/porsche/lambo/maserati dealer...it was the owners car

i was sure a few weeks now on selling it but i got the crash bar pulled out so i could start it and the fan not rub the shroud. And when i did its like i fell in love all over again the exhaust undone at the header and all those memories come back. All i need for the motor is the 15gs and A/F managment system either Emanage or SAFC2. body wise a hood and driver fender as i will be running a front mount i'm not gonna put a bumper on for a while... So i have to get all those mods ON,Tune it,fix it.... thats gonna hurt the wallet....

Okay, you guys remember how I've been trying to apply for a credit card for the longest time now but can't qualify for one? Well, I initially thought that it was because I didn't have enough credit history but I was WRONG!

The reason why I can't get approved is because f*ckin' AT&T put some type of credit collection report against my record. WTF! I've NEVER had any type of account with AT&T before. The closest thing to an account that I had with them was our phone/internet service BUT that was on under my dad's name. FURTHERMORE, we have NEVER defaulted on ANY payments!!!

So I need help...like REAL help! Who do I contact? How do I get this mess sorted out? I really hope someone on here has some type of information because I tried calling AT&T and they have no f*ckin' idea about what's going on (figures...dumb@$$e$). So yeah, any help you guys can give me will be greatly appreciated. Please please help...

also call at&t, yea i know u called em already, call again, it's not something that you want haunting you for longer than it has to. if they can't help you, go on the internet to their site, navigate through the my account thing, and see what it says is going on. sometimes the "helpers" won't know, but corprate headquaters will.

try this, go to the mall, go to a jewlrey store, apply for a credit card through them. i got approved without any credit, 300 bucks, and i wont b using it anytime soon. but if u need a card, it's the quickest way...they do a background check, if that at&t thing comes up, ask if they could think of anything. also go to a bank, a bank should know.

and lastly, if it's in ur dad's name, ask him if he know's anything...do u and him have the same name? are u a jr? if so, sometimes they'll mistake u for him if u don't put the jr on the credit card application

well when it really becomes a problem is when you're partying on saturday night at a bar or something...bar closes...you and your friends aren't ready to call it a night. You cant always predict those situations. Yea, i always have some beer in the fridge...but for 5 or 6 guys that wanna play beerpong a 12-pack just wont cut it.

Woo another Saturday of drinking. I actually had nothing planned then ran into a guy I work with. He called me up later and just came down to chill for a little and watch the Steeler game.

Then the sister-in-law and mom came home and they were talking about going to this one bar. We were like fuck it we'll go too.

The bar kinda sucked. They were doing karaoke for part of it and it was ALL country. God I hate country music with a passion. There was a DJ for part of it too that was playing club style music so that was ok.

Ended up throwing some darts and shooting some pool. Drank about 10 Captain and Cokes. Sucked though because they were only equal to about 4or so because of the complete lack of Captain in them.

I had my mom take a drink and she was like, does it even have alcohol in it? :lol:

Oh yeah I ran into a girl I used to know. We went to Bible School together back in the day. :lol: Yeah anyway we were just bullshitting and she was asking if I was married or had any kids etc. Then she told her boyfriend who I was and was like I think Tracie (her sister) has the hots for Brian here.

Its weird because I havent even seen her sister in over a year, and I really only saw her once at a going away party. So for her to know this that means she was definitely talking about me. :screwy:

Well, I got in my first race with the VR4 today. :D

I was on my way back from visiting some family and a fox body Stang catches up to me on the 4 lane highways. Guy is about 25ish years old and like all fox bodies has an aftermarket exhaust lol. He actually rolls down his window and asks me if I want to do a run. I reply, "sure, whenever your ready." He slows to 50mph so I shift into 3rd ready for him. He takes off and I follow suit quickly putting quite a few car lengths on him by 100...I shut down. He catches me agian and tells me, "good run." I give a friendly thumbs up and then he says, "give me one more chance?" I said, "sure, why?" He comes straight out with it and says let me get the bottle ready. :D I laughed a little for some reason, maybe because that was the last thing I expected to hear and then said ok. He starts messing around with whatever he was doing in his car and then says he's ready. We start at about 55mph this time. I tell him just to take the first jump agian. He takes off agian and I soon follow. This time, as I go through 3rd gear I can't gain an inch! However, nor could he. As it was literally fender to fender I realized I had to shift into 4th which made me think I would start losing some ground. However, shortly after hitting fourth I started very slowly making ground on him shutting it down at around 125 with approx 1/2 car on him. He pulls up next to me and complimented the car and I did to his. He still had a great big grin on his face even after losing agian as we cruised next to eachother. He ended up slowing down a bit and cruised behind me for another 15 or so miles and then parted ways with a thumbs up.

God I hate country music with a passion.

i think it's because the exhaust from factory on the foxbody would likely be very very restrictive. some cars from the 80's just had a few too many smog bs things. i have 3 cats on one pipe on the 944(will change soon). but i agree, i've never seen a stock exhaust on a fox body.

true country music is Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, George Straight, Alabama...shit like that. Modern country is not country, it's pop.

I listen to a pretty wide variety of music, from classical to punk to rap. What i like about country is that it's real dudes singing about real shit that you can relate to. Whether it's about hanging out drinking, street racing, or just remeniscing about growing up in your hometown.

I absolutely cant stand female country singers, though...all they sing about is themselves or being cheated on or beaten lol.

but i guess arguing about musical tastes is pointless, lol. We might as well argue about favorite colors.
