I never had any problems in Tijuana or any place in Mexico. Nice place to visit and have a blast but I would not want to live there.

I went out riding and tested some changes on my Honda. Great riding weather. I had to run the AC in the car for a while yesterday. We are going to hit 90 degrees this week.

It depends on whether people take the Monday after Easter Sunday off in the U.S. Company policy, etc. The problem in the US is the Monday after Easter Sunday is federal income tax deadline for filing which is normally around April 15th but the IRS has extended it to Monday the 17th since the 15th falls on a weekend. That day is a real circus in the U.S. I'm glad I do my taxes early.

I still have 250 shares of Raytheon stock from when I used to work for them so I keep an eye on the stock markets. Happy riding and Happy Easter!

BTW - We're taking half a day off for Good Friday and Monday off. Woopee!!!

I have all my money dumped into various mutual funds.

That will be a major problem if I go into public accounting and especially auditing. Owning the company, even indirectly through a mutual fund can provide a conflict of interest and ruin the objectivity of an external audit.

As long as bad guys keep stirring stuff up in the world, that will be good for defense contractors. I would personally bet on drug companies. Baby boomers are getting old fast... :)

Looks like any energy stock would be a good investment. The stock market is still too volatile but you never know especially when you hit the jackpot.

I fall asleep watching the Discovery channel every once in a while and some goon is always on there at 2 in the morning when I finally wake up selling some scheme to idiots about the great eBay or some property thing.

They can be entertaining at times though.

IMO it is OK to be racist but don't flaunt it or make it public.

It's ok to be proud of your own race, as long as it's not at the expense of another. I'd be the first person to defend the rights of caucasions (I feel affirmative action was and still is reverse racism), but I would also be on the front line to knock a KKK/Arian Nation member's head off if they attacked a minority without provocation. I do not believe in dropping standards to allow a group of people to get a job in a particular field, which IMO is a BIG contributor to the downward spiral this great country is in.

I don't really see anyone as a "minority." Everyone, even in the same race is different and others have to respect that.

As long as humans look, act and think differently, there will be issues with some when others don't look, act or think the same as them. Just look at Congress. Republicans and Democrats act like children. Black Congresswoman punches a police officer who tries to stop her for not wearing a ID pin and it's suddenly racism because all security should memorize who everyone is.

There are issues in the Middle East, Ireland, etc etc....

Thats not a bad idea Wylie. But in this the U.S. we'd have to redeploy our troops to the Southern borders and help fight the war on illegal immgration. We have been invaded by over 11 million illegals.

I don't mind having Hispanics come up here to work. Just go through the front door. If there would be some temporary worker visa program, that would be great. They apply to work here in the US from down there, when approved are allowed to work for say a year or two then they have to leave.

Visa abuse is always an issue, but it always has, even from Europe and Asia.

We have an illegal immigration problem going on here as well and just another example of politicians not doing there jobs in the first place.
The bad thing here is there deporting the honest ones with jobs because their easy to find and letting the criminals stay because its to much work to track them down.

I still can't believe all the protesters over this ILLEGAL immigration thing. One word says it all, ILLEGAL. They're not trying to stop immigration, it's the criminals that aren't supposed to be here in the first place. This country has become so liberal, that it getting harder to stay a proud American.

Supposedly this Monday, May 1 is their big day to flex their so called muscle via boycotting and not going to work, etc. We'll see what happens. Too many activists involved leading the blind sheep. IMO all it has been doing is causing an anti-illegal immigration backlash from middle America. While they are out protesting thinking it will change the law and give full amnesty to illegals I wrote all of my Congressmen/women and expressed my opposing views. They are still in the minority when it comes to voting.

hey guys- agreed on the immigration thing. i am not racist by any stretch- lots of mezkin friends. two things:
1. i am an apartment manager for 2 small complexes and it really blows me that every 1st of the month i get 2 checks from the housing authority for the tenants who arent even citizens. i was forced to rent to them, even though they are not citizens, or face being dragged to court on discrimination charges. i dont hate them, i hate the fact that in essence, i am paying their rent and they keep having babies!
2. i go to the community college, soon to be a university of texas longhorn( go horns!). it affects our grade to miss class- can be adjusted +- 5 points by the teacher. the school has already posted notice that "in the interest of cultural diversity", students who walk out/ do not attend classes will not be given an absence record for that day(the monday they are all going to boycott and walkout)...............

just heard a guy put it very well- they arent immigrants. an immigrant is someone who enters the country through due process, with the intention of becoming a citizen. trespasser is more like it. when the first word of your status is "illegal", there's something wrong. wonder what would happen if i tried to go to next Spurs game "illegally"... maybe jump the fence or something...

Obvious to me its a racial issue more so on their part. Have you witnessed any of the protests first hand? I have. You wouldn't like the signs the activists and demonstrators are holding up. I saw one that said "Gringos get out of our land" which represents their views on the "Reconquista".

lol. According to our buddy Wylie from Canada they have an illegal problem. Probably a bunch of Americans that can't stand living the U.S. anymore.

BTW - At least the Canadian coins have value. The peso doesn't have any and we get a bunch of them down South. The guy that complains the most about it owns a bunch of vending machines and do it yourself carwashes.

Although I don't thing having Mexico etc as states would sit well. There are little laws such as those prohibiting bribery in business that would go against Latin American culture.
