Well it looks like Superbowl XL in Detroit, MI will be Seattle v. Pittsburgh.
Denver looked terrible. I predict Seahawks over Steelers by 10 points.

According to the sports experts the Steelers are favored by 3 -4 points over the Seahawks. Both teams seem evenly matched but I would debate that because the positive in favor of Pittsburgh is based on their history and prior Super Bowl wins more than the actual record. Seattle was #1 seed and Pittsburgh was # 6 working it's way up. The Seahawks are the underdogs and have more to gain from a win compared to Pittsburgh. If it weren't for the "Bus" Bettis the Steelers would probably not have made it that far.
Either way it should be a great Super Bowl. Time to stock up on on plenty of beer and snacks.

I agree with you Bob, it's gonna be a great game. Finally the game will exceed the commercials if it plays out like it should. Both teams have solid offenses, great coaching, and I think the tenacity of Pittsburgh's defense will be the difference. I would hesitate to bet the farm , because Hasselbeck and Anderson are quite an offensive threat, and they make everyone around them better too. Pittsburgh went flat for a couple of games in the middle of the season, and only lost their division by a tie breaker, so the whole #6 seed is really a technicality.

Actually, I was glad to see the Steelers earn the AFC title. Best part was ruining the Patriots so called Dynasty. Things were a little rough for Pittsburgh because Roethlisberger had the injury problem with his hands.
What would be nice to figure out what the final score will be along with points spread or even scores at the end of each quarter and head to Las Vegas and see if any money can be made. They've got the whole Super Bowl dissected for betting.
Based on post season statistics the Seahawks are looking good offensively.

That is sad Jim. Notice how the fiberglass shatters. I wonder what happened to the driver. Even if he ducked I don't think that would have helped. Kind of reminds me of the Jane Mansfield accident where she was decapitated after running into a 18 wheeler.
Looks like there is nothing to salvage except the rear wheel. :shakehead

Yes, she would be a deadly distraction. Sad part is the Corvette has the best brakes of any American made car. He must have been hauling ass and had his head up it to rear end an 18 wheeler like that.
BTW - It does look like an arm if you look back at the driver's side door opening.

As far as that Vette went under that truck, you have to wonder is he even hit the brakes. The only marks you is is about 6" long. that would have happened when the car stpped.

That sure looks like an arm, and there was probably either a Milwaukee's best or cell phone in it just before impact. Look at the back of the trailer near the left door latch, I believe that red spot is where his head hit. Now the girl, all I can say is two things. Hey Wylie, I heard you guys up North have a new political climate with a new PM - Harper and a conservative majority. Question for you. What exactly is a Canadian Conservative versus Liberal who were in power for the last 13 years?
I heard someone say that Canadian Conservatives are similar to Liberal Republicans in the US. Sounds like an oxymoron to me. I've never heard of a Liberal Republican.....just right wing or moderate.
I figured we might as well talk politics as long as we don't piss each other off. We've already discussed beer, women, cars and vacation. lol.

We pay way to much Fn taxes up here,we just elected a new gov and now I think they go on holidays for a few months.
Apparently the Conservatives are less corrupt than the Liberals and want to give the gays less rights, anti abortion and stuff like that.
Hopefully they'll quit making criminals out of people that smoke weed and lower the price of beer.

A Liberal Republican???? That is the text book definition of an oxymoron if ever I heard one. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! The way I look at it, it doesn't matter what party you believe in/vote for. If you're a common man, you're screwed. I still vote, but sometimes I feel like I'm picking whether to get shot in the head with a Shotgun or 44 Mag. Definitely different, but same end result, neither good.

Yeah, sounds like politics as usual. What about that Quebec separatist movement? Last time a state tried to succeed from the union we had a civil war.
On Bush, he is the last of my worries. I worry more about local law enforcement trying to impound my car because it looks fast or is fast or some idiot city council that makes it mandatory that I spend money on a pet implant chip in the event my pet gets lost all because other idiots lose their pets. We may not pay as much taxes as you guys up North but they get us subtly in other ways. Two things are a fact in life - taxes and death.

I voluntarily chipped my dogs, simply because if they do escape, or someone steals them, I can prove they are mine. For the Gov't to require it is absurd. It goes back to my issue that the government seems to think it has to protect us from our own stupidity. A perfect example is the brake trans shift interlock switch on our cars. Was it so common for morons to put their cars in gear without pushing the brake pedal and then crashing that the Gov't had to mandate a BTSI? Part of it is to keep small children from putting the car in gear, but what are they doing in the car unsupervised in the first place?!?! Sheesh, when will people start taking responsibility for their own actions.

Voluntary is one thing but government mandated is another. In my county we are already required to do the annual registration and rabies vacs which includes ID in the form of the metal tags. But the mandatory chip implant effective April 1, 2006 for us is just the tip of the iceberg. In addition, Animal Control will be able to canvas neighborhoods, knock on your door, and even look in your backyard to check for compliance. Non compliance will be a $2000 fine per animal which includes dogs, cats, and ferrets.
This is all because of stupid people. People that obey and comply with existing laws are paying the price. As far as I am concerned it is unequal treatment under the US Constitution. Where are poor people and the elderly on fixed incomes gonna get the money to comply?
That is the problem with living in one of the only remaining liberal counties in Texas. Also, it seems like a back door approach to getting more revenue (taxes).
The other big issue is red light cameras at major intersections. That stupid ordinance was just passed but being held up so the Texas Attorrney General can review the local law for constitutionality. I am all for red light cameras if it will save lives but research has shown just the opposite is true. Washington DC is a prime example of red light camera failure. After cameras were installed there the death toll at intersections went up not down.
Where will it end? :dunno:

When I got sick, I lost 100 pounds in 30 days. Now I'm having a hard time getting any of it back. I'm hoping to get about 20 pounds of it back in a week.

I'll post pics of my two dogs when I get home. One is a 120lb Rott mix, the other a Husky/Shepard mix. The way they dig DEEP holes and eat loose sticks in the yard, I think they're a rare breed of chinese beaver dog. We are also required to get yearly vaccinations and licenses, but cats are not. My next door neighbor has about 15 cats, and they've turned wild (granted, she's 80), but they got in my yard and my dogs killed a couple of them. She wanted me to pay to bury them???? I told her sorry, but they got in my yard, so it's not my fault. I felt bad, because I have cats too, but it wasn't my fault her animals got in my yard and the dogs won. Her cats constantly get in my garbage, but I don't complain to her, I just clean it up.

My dog's a digger to he built a basement in his dog house that got so big the house caved in.
I had the farmer next door come over with his plow to full it back in and my dog had the hole thing dug again in two days.
No sticks though hes a tennis ball nut.

That would be nice Rich. Since you seem to be a Rottweiler fan here is a pic of my beloved Robby Bear. AKC and 185 lbs. His father was an AKC Champion at 205 lbs. He was a special Rottweiler bred to be big not smaller like the trend. He passed away last year at 10 years old. Big dogs don't live that long. I had him cremated and keep his ashes. He will be buried with me when I kick the bucket. Man, I loved that dog. Very intelligent. He could swallow Cats whole. No B.S.! Rex my Great Dane mix and him worked together as a team. They would corner a CAT in the back yard and then teach it a lesson. I had to pull the Cat out of Robby's mouth before he swallowed it.

Beautiful dog Bob, mine is still growing, he's only 19 mos old, but I don't think he'll get that big. He's a lover, hell he's afraid of our cats, the big wuss. My Shepard/Husky is the everythingkiller. If it isn't a human, or Dozer (the Rott) and gets in my back yard, Angus (the Husky/Shepard) will kill it. It's funny too, because if he comes in the house (he prefers it outside), he plays with our cats, and he's very gentle and loving to all people, just not critters in HIS yard. IT's funny how attached we get to our animals, but I'm the same way.

Why do you think it's funny? People get attached to their kids. Dogs are easier.

IMO dogs are the best pets. Man's best friend. At least you can talk to them and they seem to understand. Their loyalty is next to none. Whatever command I issue he listens and follows. Our cat could care less and had it's own mind. I was glad to get rid of it.
You get very attached to your pets and it is rough when they pass away.

My two fight over which window to stick their heads out of. They fill up the back seat pretty well. We can't even spell out "r-i-d-e i-n t-h-e c-a-r", or Dozer is up your butt until he get's to go. We have resorted to saying "partake in an automotive journey" to keep is big butt from running you over to get to the car first. I opened the sunroof once, but Dozer will break my center console trying to stick his head out there. I even have to pull the shade across, because if he sees the glass, he want's to poke his head out. And just so you know, I agree about getting attached to animals. When my Border Collie Kirby died a few years back, I was a wreck for a couple of weeks, DAMN I miss that dog!!!

Interesting you bring that up Rich. Dogs love car or truck rides. All I have to say to Rex is "Lets go bye bye.......vroom vroom" and he beats me out the door to the garage. They make for nice foot warmers too. lol.

not only mans best friend but sometimes the best protecter too. growing up for me it was a beagle. once my neighbors 2 chows and 1 doberman, all three a couple of years older and much 30- 40 lbs heavier, came in our yard. my little sister went screaming into the house, and out came the dog. he took on all three dogs at once with me standing there holding a shovel in case i needed to uh....run like hell. long story short he hit the jugular vein of the doberman, ripped the fur off the neck of the brown chow like a chew toy, and got a piece of the white chows eye and ear for lunch. he had several bite marks in his ear to show for his days work, and that was it. we had him for 14 years and never once did he bite us, though we tortured him when we very young and stupid. there is a picture of me and my brother somewhere holding his head underwater- i was three and steve was 2. and of course i didnt cry when he died... at least not in front of my friends.

Since we are on pet (dog) jokes here's one:
This guy had a talking dog he would take to a bar and have people buy him drinks if he could convince them the dog could talk.
One day he goes into this bar and sets the dog up on one of the barstools. There is this guy sitting in the next barstool. The guy says to the other guy "If I show you my dog can talk will be buy me a drink"? Guy says sure but this better be good.
The one guy looks at his dog and asks him a question. Who is the world's most famous baseball player? The dog look at him all dumb, wags his tail but didn't answer. So he asks the question again. Who is the world's most famous baseball player? The dog looks at him, wags his tail and then answers by saying "Ruuuuuuuth".
The guy at the barstool looked in disbelief and stated "Man, your dog can't talk" and leaves the bar.
The dog owner then looks at his dog shaking his head and says "Man you let me down, man's best friend my butt".
The dog looks at the owner with a big smile, tail wagging and says in plain English "Who did you expect me to say, Joe Demaggio????? :lol2:

Heres another talking dog one.
A guy is driving around Tennessee and he sees a sign in front of a house:
"Talking Dog For Sale." He rings the bell and the owner tells him the dog
is in the backyard. The guy goes into the backyard and sees a Labrador
retriever sitting there.
"You talk?" he asks.
"Yep," the Lab replies.
"So, what's your story?"
The Lab looks up and says, "Well, I discovered that I could talk when I was
pretty young. I wanted to help the government, so I told the CIA about my
gift, and in no time at all they had me jetting from country to country,
sitting in rooms with spies and world leaders, because no one figured a dog
would be eavesdropping. I was one of their most valuable spies for eight
years running." "But the jetting around really tired me out, and I knew I
wasn't getting any younger so I decided to settle down. I signed up for a
job at the airport to do some undercover security wandering near suspicious
characters and listening in. I uncovered some incredible dealings and was
awarded a batch of medals."
"I got married, had a mess of puppies, and now I'm just retired."
The guy is amazed. He goes back in and asks the owner what he wants for the
dog.
"Ten dollars," the guy says.
"Ten dollars? This dog is amazing. Why on earth are you selling him so
cheap?"
"Because he's a liar. He never did any of that shit."

When I was a kid I use to wonder where they came up with those ideas for the cartoons.
Now I know they had a dog like mine.
Run hi speed casing a squirrel and crash into the tree, tie him self up with his own leash so he can move.
And the list goes on.
It'll be a sad day around my house when hes gone.

Sorry it's so big, I forgot to edit it for size before I uploaded it. This was taken for Chrismas in 2004, so the Rot is only 8 mo's old in this pic. He's a good 30 lbs or more bigger now.

Nice dogs Rich. Especially, I like the way Angus looks. The Husky mix gives him a wolf look without the hassles of being a wolf. :bigthumb:

Sometimes have to make checks around midnight too. Got to make sure the tape backups are working.
Time for some more go juice (coffee).

Without the Fast and the Furious reference, that wouldn't have been nearly as entertaining. The water injection helps when you get into 27th or 28th gear (I believe that's how many times they shifted in the first drag race).

Yeah nothing like the IT business. 24/7.
I hate it when the cell phone goes off on the weekends. But before heading in I remote in. The remote software allows me to lock in on the users IP address and take remote control over their PC/workstation. On servers it is neat to be able to add users or do systems admin from the comfort of the home. Plus I can remote in to the Cisco routers.
Too bad I am salaried exempt. It would be nice to get the overtime pay.
