Looks like both your Cowboys and my Packers made it this year Bob. :D I have no doubt both teams will have to play lights out in the playoffs.

Yeah Alex. Good season for a change and history for the Cowboys. Well it looks like the Boys are off to Minnesota. :grinyes:

BTW - I think McNabb needs to retire.

Its going to be an interesting game Bob. We'll see if childress lets Favre pass or if he still wants to run the ball. I just hope AP doesn't fumble again (can we say Overrated?). :banghead:

Yeah, that was a painful way to end it. Either way, I'm still proud of them coming back when they were down 31-10 in the 3rd quarter. That was one of the most offensive games I have ever witnessed in NFL football though.

So, how has everyone been? I just got a new IPS exhaust for the VR-4. :D With my downpipe and this new exhaust I have just a hair over 100lbs shed on this overweight machine. Remarkable how heavy everything is one these cars. I swear you could make a boat anchor out of the stock exhaust system on these cars. I see Bob's boys and my pack are both out of the race. Who would have thought? :p

Not bad. But I laughed when I read the following.........

Yeah, it's basically a four-door ZR1

The major issue I have with any G8 regardless of mods and where done is Made in Australia. :twak:

grandprixgtx00
03-14-2010, 02:24 PM
idk, ZR1 pushes out 620 HP and 595 lb-ft torque...thats with the LS9 supercharged 6.2L. curb weight is 3333 lb

the G8 has a massive 7.4L LSX and grunts out 638 horsepower and 600 lb-ft torque. curb weight is 3995 lb. throw a supercharger on there with some supporting mods :evillol:

handeling is probably a totally different story with the G8...though i have read that the handleing is pretty decent.

anyways...too bad it was never put into production. such a shame that Pontiac came out with such a solid car...that was only alive for 3 years

Look what I found for sale in MN!

http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/csw/cto/1660530123.html

I started to read, it has 140k, and when I read that 3rd gear is out and that they still want 3000.00 for it, I couldn't believe it. 3k is about what my car is worth in good shape. I sent him and email and asked what his bottom price is. I will be suprized if he replies back and gives me a reasonable price. But most people don't realize what their stuff isn't worth. That car will be for sale for a long time at that price. No one is going to buy a car worth 3500-4k topps for 3000 and then have to go and spend 1500 at least for a new trans to be installed.

doctorhrdware

The way the car sits it is not worth any more then $500.

I'd pay no more than $1000 for it. Def not worth $3000 thats for sure. Gulf blue, i always liked that color

tblake

500-1000 was my thought too. Heck, I'd rather cherry pick a motor out than drop a transmission.

tblake
04-05-2010, 10:36 AM
I don't want to reply back and offer him 1000.00 and him to take it as an insult, but there is no way I could pay 3000 for a 10yr old car with a bad trans. It doesn't matter what condition it is in. If I am going to have to crawl around on the ground to install a trans, I am going to want to get a decent deal. Not come out at face value on it when I am done.

RE: GTP‏
Sent: Sun 4/04/10 1:29 PM

Well the car is in really good condition. The tires have about 2000 miles on one set and about 9000 on the other se.It has all the options, leather, heated seat headsup display. The transmission was repaired about a year ago fro shifting from first to second. My transmission guy thinks it's the clutch plate for thirs gear and would be about 600 to fix.Let me know if your still interested.

boy, I do not know really.

I would have to check what kbb value is.

And then check on the price of a new trans plus installation.

Is the car in decent condition otherwise? Has it ever been modded with a smaller supercharger pulley?

Thanks!

yeah, the clutch plate or whatever would cost $600 or so to replace...but if your going to keep tearing the tranny out of the car might as well just fix it right, do a full rebuild, and be done with it lol.

I'm not sure how to tell the guy w/o offending him. I'm sure he will find out the hard way because no one in their right mind is going to pay $3000 for that car :grinno:

tblake
04-06-2010, 11:03 AM
That is what I figured. And if he had it fixed a year ago by someone he knows, why doesn't he call that person up and say WTF! You fixed my trans and now I am having issues again.

But I think I will just keep an eye on craigslist, I am sure I will see it there for a long time and at many price drops. When he drops down to 1500, I will email an offer of 1000.

I've never used Craigslist, and from what I've seen, I won't. A friend's son was looking for a car for school, and found a 1996 Pontiac Sunfire for $1500/obo. The listing said nice clean car, runs good, drives great, looks great. I went with him to check it out. It had 179k hard miles, leaked, smoked, the motor had a miss and a tick, the tires were bald and the steering wheel was at a 45 degree angle when going straight and the car dove to the ditch if you let go of the wheel. Did I mention the paint was peeling off and it was dented all over and rusty? I wanted to punch the guy in the head for wasting my time, nuff said about buying a car off CL?

He originally had it listed for 3500 and never mentioned it had a bad trans? What is he trying to sell here? Did you ever go to look at it? Good or bad condition? Yet if I could get it for 1000, I could part it out and make my money back. Just that transaxels are such a biatch to replace.

HAHA, That is funny! I see a lot of older cutlasses and montes with big wheels like that around minneapolis..... Not sure how they crank the suspension up that far to fit the wheels on, but the ride and steering has to suck. Watching them keep up with traffic on the freeway is good for a laugh. Seems like they hit a bump and the car dives one way. Totally unsafe.
