I was thinking of strut bar's myself once I get done with new rims/tires .. 18" :D ... brakes I just dont know.. Mine are needed tho... some days .. stiff ... not wanting to stop =p .. others... I could stop on a dime .. er well maybe a penny :D

If u get bigger rims u can get bigger brakes like some Bear, w/dual pistons! My GAs brakes were funky, so last spring I flushed the entire system and its been like new. Stop on a dime.

That boost controler from Apexi sounded promising, but it didnt show how much it was.

I'm sure you could get the Borla snugged up close without burning something. The exhaust hangers should allow you some play so the locations can be adjusted.

That is a nice Kombat body kit. If that wing was any bigger, it might just fly.

FOUND MY FRIGGIN COOLANT PROBLEM! after 2-3 weeks of bitching... problem found and soon to be solved once I get some extra money.
On the back in the middle of the 3400 theres 2 coolant hoses of which go into somewhere like magic and just flow in/out .. well the hoses are ironically bad... they werent replaced when I had it serviced earlier a few weeks back for a cam shaft pulley and new Radiator hoses *all brand new in the front* .. was feelin around and noticed.. orange on my hand.. wtf? I get the flash light and boom :cwm27: .. just all around the rim of the hoses was coolant :p ... One hose was so loose Im surprised it hasnt blown off yet... careful driving untill I get it fixed :sunglasse
The buildup of pressure + heat just squirts it out :disappoin

wish meh luck. I hope that later thats where the hoses for my trans cooler will be Y-split or just flow directly... its right above the trans / exhaust :rolleyes:

What do you look for in music? Instrumental or Vocal?

I've noticed, as I.. being a rock, metal/heavy metal avid fan.. I tend to like more songs with less lyrics and more actual 'music'... sometimes the vocals are needed but that just means the song isnt all that great if the instrumentals are in need of vocal... My friend, she listens to ill just say uhh .. like pop-ish alternative bands... examples: The Used, My chemical romance, fallout boys...
Me being from the coast I grew up on C101 (http://www.c101.com/main.html), genre tends to be ozzy, metallica, alot of the good 80s-90s bands .. more of a metal station than anything.. if they had a radio stream online I'd listen every day lol :killbarne

Both Gir. I like instrumental and vocals. Some songs dont require all sorts of vocals drowning out the instruments, like most metal bands today, with thier suck ass vocalists. I dont know whats come over these newer bands and thier vocalist, they all sound the same. I know thats a cleashay that most people hav when they here metal, but its true.

I'm from the old school 80's metal like, Testament, Metalica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Over Kill, Exodus, Death, COC, Ozzy, heavy ass rock and the list rolls on. In the 70's I listened to Nazareth(canandians)and Black sabbath, my parents thought it was devil rock or acid rock, I was 8 or 10 yrs old, it was just rock to me.

But these days I'm into a wider range of tunes. Like TooL(who doesnt like them), I listen to White Stripes ocationally, some Queens of the stone age (new'r stuff), A perfect Circle, did I say OPETH? Oh ya I did, they still kick ass.

Those stations look'd good. Better than my local rock stations, we had a kick ass one but I woke up one day and it was full blow Hispanic/Latin music. Needless to say I dont listen to them anymore(damn sellouts). Sometimes I listen to the knac online.

Movie Industries are taking stabs at it by contacting your ISP and depending on their terms .. you either get disconnected or sent a warning in the mail... or if they just pick up alot of bandwidth usage they can limit you down *which is lame cause you still pay the same high price* Any tech-savvy person will notice and call them up and give them a good talking too :D I know I would...

WOW. I just heard about the Tornado that just ripped through Southern Indiana. Bout 1am last night i had gusts of wind up to 50mph for 30mins or so. Dont really think of Nov as a tornado time of year. Why is it that the Tornados are attracted to those damn trailers/mobilhome parks ? God must hate'm("shiny little boxes they are", Yoda said).

I've been listening to AA for 5 years, and this is the closest they've ever come to my home. They were in Cleveland a couple years ago, but I didn't go. Have you ever seen them in show? You should come see em in Detroit. They were one of the first big black metal acts I got into, and I've been obsessed with them ever since. I"ve never seen them in show though. And I can't wait.

Yes they are. They've been together for a long time, so they are pretty tight. Its kinda original sounding. Thier demo sounds like they do live. I hav one here, they wouldnt mind me sharing(its incouraged at this time). I could send some samples, you know where a good place is to get them up for down loads? I could cut the sample rates back to conserve space, might even be able to put them in zip file .

Those new wings are nicer then the old ones. Roboticgod has one on his new ride, i like them. Looks cleaner, I think.

I about got poped, couple nights ago, out on a county rd, done a half stop half roll at a 4way, made my left turn and saw a black car setting on the side of the road facing me with his lights off , OH SHIT! it was a f*****n state boy , waiting for someone, and apperntly/thankfully it wasnt me.

I've heard some guy was runing this 4way everynight at the same time, so i think the neighbors been calling the policea.
its been since 97 since my last ticket, and it was a good one(3 actually). Lol

Over here their are a lot of people with expired inspection stickers, unregistered vehicles, driving around, and they never seem to get pulled over or no front plate, but depends on the area. Any of you guys going to be affected by the suposed GM cut backs or layoffs?
I hav some friends who work at Heritage Products, they make brake boosters, clutch brakets, cyc engine mounts, Converters(mostly japanese parts), anyway they have been on lay off since summer.
Most had over 15-20yrs in and still go bumped, thier LO might of been due to import/export laws and the huricans/tsunamis that hit this year. And now they probley dont have jobs to go back to, because they were replaced by damn temps from Manpower or Work Force for 1/3 the costs. Our economey is f***d up!

Sucks man, alot of people this year are out of work, and we keep sending jobs to other countries to save money... Thats a crock of s***! :nono: So one day, thier will be as many people working as not. :screwy:

Hell the huricanes caused a job loss of over 500k + people this year, thats insane!

btw, xero... coolant hoses have been replaced, new clamps and 1 quick fitting or w/e the hell it is that goes onto the metal coming from the engine... the original was shattered inside the hose, thus why it was leaking soo badly.. just ran thru the cracks of the plastic and out it goes.

That really sucks. I got SOO lucky today. Clocked at 103 on the highway. Cop nailed me and when i pulled over i was lucky cuz he was only a couple years older than me. It was late...like 1:30 or so and he let me go with a warning. I guess he understood that there werent any cars on the highway...i wouldnt drive that fast around people. Dont wanna get in an accident and kill noone. Gir...Take it to a lawyer...Itll cost a little more but wont go on your record and wont affect your insurance. I know here in St Charles, Missouri its $100 dollars for 25 over the posted limit. You gotta pay the fine either way so id just as soon spend that extra Benjamin to keep a clean record. Yeh XI, I know shitloads of people around lansing here in UAW Locals 652, 602, and 1618 that will be affected by the cutbacks. And they are real, not supposed. I watched the entire live broadcast that morning in my office via our closed circuit corporate television thing.

Plant 6 (Lansing Car Assembly - N-bodies) was already shut down, along with Plant 5 powertrain (home of the quad-four), and most of the work either went to jobs bank, lay off, or some of it came over to Lansing Grand River (caddys). Right around the same time, Lansing Craft Center (SSR) and it's metal fab started runnin really sparesly (shut down lots), until now they've decided just to close LCC & Metal fab for good. But I work at the new Lansing Delta Township plant (still under construction), and We're employing over 3000 workers from 602 mainly, 602, and a few from 1618 (mainly skilled trades from LCC). So LDT's opening up is deffinately going to help out the lack-of-work situation around here.

As far as me myself being affected, I won't. I'm the first co-op ever at LDT, and have already started to play a big role in several important projects, and not to mention they've already put nearly 2-month's worth of training into me, so if for some reason LDT was looking to cut manpower, I don't think I'd be going anywhere.

Man just listen to you. To read that post you would think that you were MR. GM himself.(Joking!) Ride, I'm glad your job is safe! I know that the shutdowns are hitting a plant here in town that has been in operation since the 1950's and the no. of people effected if substancial.

Now on to the real stuff, to the others on the Forum that I havent talked with lately I'm going to try to check out some of the posts and see if I can help out. I will also try to spend some more time out here just to see what is happening.

As far as me myself being affected, I won't. I'm the first co-op ever at LDT, and have already started to play a big role in several important projects, and not to mention they've already put nearly 2-month's worth of training into me, so if for some reason LDT was looking to cut manpower, I don't think I'd be going anywhere.

I know I just hired a couple more guys who were cut from dealers(not just GM) downsizing. Cut seniority with high paying jobs, and hire new guys at a lower/top pay scale. Working out great for me, i was tired of trying to do 7-8 cars a week. Now I hav 4 guys from different areas of expertise, who right now seem to work well together, we'll see in 5-6 months .

No idea how much the ticket is, but its my first so maybe defensive driving? I just got paid today and I really could use the money for other stuff other than paying for my own dumb expense.

Sounds like you might be taking Defensive Driving Gir. They do hide around over passes in the shady darkness, where barly visable. Wow it was in a construction zone tooo, they werent working were they? It might be more if they were constructing. In Indy 12mph over is wreckless driving, DD class and about 300$. Oh ya, BTW -- FYI- Blew the LIM gaskets last night coming back from Cincinnati , this would be number 5 in four years. POS! I wasnt/havnt even ran it hard for a long time. I was just crusing about 80mph, keeping up with trafic, and my low coolant light came on and didnt go out. So I checkd and it and it wsa really low, put in over a gallon to get back home the 220mile(4hrs) sucked, having to stop regularly to fill the resivour,rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr DPOS rrrr! Now my fresh sythetic oils f****d! I really wanted to just set it on fire, but I didnt hav my camcorder and that would be a shame not to hav on video. :lol2:
I already fixed it , and it blew in the same place as before. Everything lookd great though, no cracks or warps, just a blu milky mess. I think I'm going to buy an Import...... :rofl:

You are lucky, in Pa. I believe that 20 or 25 over gets you one year free of driving. I've never been caught doing that. One other thing the cops were doing over here in W.PA. was sitting in the woods on the side of the road in camo with the radar guns. Hell you couldn't eve see them and you got nailed. They are also talking about putting cameras on the traffic lights in Pittsburgh that way they can nail you with out having to do anything but lick the envelope. What a bunch of BS.

Xero, that really stinks about the LIM gasket. I have a 96 GAGT with 120,000 on it and have been fortunate and only have replaced one[ knock on wood]. My biggest problem with the GT was about 2 years with ignition component problems, IE coil packs, plugs, wires and so on. Once the problem was figured out she runs better than new. Turns out that it was the ignition module, replaced that and off she went.

I don't get to drive the GT too much anymore, I have bad feet and cant depress the clutch, so the wife has her and has started to call the GT hers. I guess that's OK! at least I know she is well cared for... because I'm still doing that.

Gir: Good luck with that ticket. I did the same thing about 3 years back only it was 95 in a 65 plus NJ have all these "safe corridors" so if you are over it's double everything, points and fine. but the officer was nice enough not to nail me that hard, ( a ticket for 74 instead only 9 over) and no double fine or points. I promptly paid that off!
Sometimes a higher fine will get you less points or no points....

Yeh, it has been a while, I had to take a break. I was helping out my mother she had hip replacement surgery back in July and then again in October, so for a long time before her 1st operation I had to do just about everything she needed done. At the same time I'm also helping out with my neighbor, he has lung cancer and his wife has to work so he and I are home all day, so I've been taking him for his tests and doctor appointments. So I have been busy, now that the weather has changed I'll be spending more time at home and since the cold temps jus kick my ass I'll probably be spending more time in front of the computer.

It feels good to be back on the forum, I'm a bit rusty so I'm going to have to get back into the swing of things. Besides, my wife has been driving the GAGT, my left foot is getting bad now and I can't depress the clutch. So she has been driving the GT but all is well (knock on wood) she says the GT is running great.

So I'll be hanging around snd throwing in my 2 cents worth now and then. Kind of like throwing shit against the wall and seeing what sticks.

Man just listen to you. To read that post you would think that you were MR. GM himself.(Joking!) Ride, I'm glad your job is safe! I know that the shutdowns are hitting a plant here in town that has been in operation since the 1950's and the no. of people effected if substancial.

Now on to the real stuff, to the others on the Forum that I havent talked with lately I'm going to try to check out some of the posts and see if I can help out. I will also try to spend some more time out here just to see what is happening.

XI, the N-bodies are already done. Plant 6 was shut down back in May. So all the beloved N-bodies are no more. :( - I'm over at LCA about once a week, and let me tell ya; it's depressing as hell. That plant was so damn old and had so much heritage and shit in it - for many men / generations, it was THE General Motors that they knew. It's all empty now, and demolition is going to start in a few weeks. It's really sad... honestly. I remember going there as a kid with my dad when he worked there, and everytime I drive there, it's like my GA's happy cause it's home. When it dies, I'm going to drive it into whatever building has been built over where the mightiest GM plant once stood. :) lol honestly it's like my GA know's it is at it's birthplace... it's home... which explains why the other days it simultaneously shit out both window clips on the driver side window F*KINGDAMNIT! :banghead: And I had to pay 55$ at the stealership for new ones cause the junkyard didn't have any... :( lol o well... I love my GA none-the-less. :)

And man... that sucks about the LIM. I was lucky when mine went, it was an external leak only, and somehow sealed / melted itself back together over time. And it's been like that for about 1.5 years. So all is good... knock on wood.

my GA was born in Cananada, in late 98'. It might see an early death, and wont be heading home...

Now that my LI gaskets hav been replaced, i'm thinking of pulling the head and milling it down, along with the intakes, just to be sure its gonna be fixed.
I beleive when i changed out the injectors a while back, the lower intake bolts may hav backed out just enough to throw thngs off and start the leak. Its time to drive the ford(4x4) for a while, haha. stay off the side walks. lol

I have a quick question for everyone. I have started to see alot of stuff on the new washer bottle heaters, Heats the fluid up to 149 degrees. Does anyone have any feedback? It sounds like a great idea but it would have to put one hell of a strain on the battery especially in the cold when you need the cranking amps. I think you might be better off standing on the hood and taking a leak on the windshield to melt the ice and snow. At leadt that way you will not effect the battery.

I havnt seen those heaters for the WSW. I remember my dad used to pour superhot water on his windsheild when it was iced, I dont remember it ever cracking, though the car did hav a crack in the WS, but it never expanded when hot water was applied.

We went and did it !! I started bragging about the GAGT running great, It has come back to bite me in the ASS! The wife came home last night after picking up the boy from basketball and said they smelled antifreeze, and this morning she went out to warm up the car (about 30 degrees here) and the CES light is on. Now I've got to go out in the cold and start looking for the problem and then if I don't see anything I have to run to AutoZone to get the code. Luckily the Zone is only 2 miles down the road but it's just the inconvience of it all.
At this point I have to place the blame for this on Ride, It's his fault because I look at it this way...
The GAGT was running great until I come out on to the forum and start bragging, I came back to the forum because he notified me that he had become the MOD. for the GA Forum, so therefor it is his fault. Am I wrong in my way of thinking? To me that theory makes alot of sense.

RIDE I'm just pulling your chain. I'm thinking there may be a bad hose or maybe even the LIM (I hope not). It would not suprise me only because we had been talking about them a few post ago.
The nice thing about it is that I do not have to bust ass to get it repaired. Having 3 vehicles in the driveway has some benefit. The wife will either drive my XL-7 of the daughters Merc. Tracer. And I can take some time to get the repairs made on the GT. With some luck it will be a simple repair, the wife has already said she wants her (do you believe that HER)car back, Oh Well what can I say another GA lover.

I'll Keep you guys posted. And Ride I forgive you! HaHaHa.
