1200th post!!!
lol
wasnt really payin attention but yea I think so... (the MPG drop)
now its just running smoothly, great when its cold, skip shifts and passes cars w/ ease :grinyes:
--
also, in my soon list in my sig... I think that'd be about it to finish off the grand am and save for other things... building it up is fun and all...but costly ... building up a computer is much cheaper (I need to do so) lol mine is running on old generation agp/athlon xp 32bit :) .. need some PCI-E w/ dual coreness hehe
but after everything there I think I can be happy with the GA with out running into major problems with lets say the trans...
might just get the 65mm from v6performance :dunno: much cheaper than rsm... hope it fits
--edit
another question, think it'd be necessary to goto a pro to get the pcm tuned after done and done?
and somewhere in my soon list is suspension parts :grinno:
It's probably not necessary to go to a pro to have the PCM tuned, but it maybe worth it though, since they maybe able to tune it to get Optimal Performance! Every horsey counts under the hood! Between the two 65mm's, see if you cna find reviews on them so you can tell which one is better. Hopefully they aren't made differently such as smaller or cheaper. They shouldn't be different in size... BUT to keep the cost down you never know.

65mm !! :eek7:
You might have trouble with that on your stock intake.
Might not open right due to the intake hole being smaller.
The best way to tune that DHP PCM is thier DHP Tuner, or autotap works good too.
Which they are about the same price, you just need a PC to hook up to the DTS port and adjust your settings.
Gir talk about old pc's my main pc I use at home is a P3 :uhoh:
but overclocked and maxed DDR (1gig).
Dual core in theory should be faster, but I havent seen any stats on these new chipsets to validate this.

65mm is just a thought, ill try and grab the link when I get home to where I remember seeing it...
as for engine mods, everything in the list I think will do it for me... would you say that with the milzy parts that it'd be a good build? .. I dont plan on SC/Turbo till maybe later, as well goes with the transmission build whenever thats finished... want the most out of the GA just with-out going deep into it ya know...

I seen that 65mm on some site too.
Even thought about trying to make it myself.
I have everthing to bore it out,
and I know can get a butterfly that would work out of an LS motors TB.
Gir, Just noticed the Mizly bonus HP.
Have you added that list up, what it'll cost and what you have spent
When your done you'll freek on how much you've spent.

yup, and it'll probly be done by next summer hahaha
Its around $2000-ish for just milzy alone.. but its apart from TB and headers =) .. im going to order it all at once so for a while ill just be with my TB and headers untill I have enough for the milzy build and hopefully more money to piece it all together in a day or 2 (hopefully)
but really, thats all I want to do with my GA, its a fun car and all :dunno: but not the greatest to build upon, (hence this forum full of car troubles lol)

:newburn: I'm pissed right now, My manager knocked my donut out of my hand and it landed on our nasty ass dirty carpeting... and he thought it was funny.. WTF! B*****D! I'll get him back yet... IT's on NOW! I think i better place i call about getting him back...... muahhahahahah :grinyes:
ANYWAYS on to cars! I just noticed that milzy site, this was the first time i was there and thankfully i only found it now, cuase there are things that i would want to get from there! I think i paid about $1000.00 in mods on my g/a maybe a little more, and about $4000.00 in repairs/ maintenance. The scary part is my 88 grand am has had only $4000.00 in repairs/ maintenance and it's 18 years old! :eek7:
I agree with you gir, the G/a is a fun car, but not great to build on. To many problem start occuring, with or without mods. I still like the lines on the g/a though, very agressive looking, just they should have put better horse power in it, then it would have totally been worth it.
Enjoy the day guys!

while he was laughing you should of picked it up and stuffed his face w/ it :grinno:
yea the milzy addon to the to-do list will kinda complete it, I still need to get in contact with S&S about the ceramic headers + cat buy, sent them an e-mail a while ago but nothing as of yet. Ill try to call them monday afternoon next week when I have time.
Because of upcoming holidays for thanksgiving and all the turkeh to go around, ill be working on holiday pay plus overtime, I think... :dunno: but eh lots of money to be coming in to put in the TB/S&S bin of savings lol. I need to look up more about the TB from pfyc and the other ones from v6performance and see how they size up to the UIM and all that, the 62mm is still there because it IS a direct fit but i dont know, price for the other one is so much cheaper... while im doing the TB ill switch out the stat as well while that area is being worked on...
I can safely say that I've spent more money on performance than fixing the GA, which is good... guess im doing something right on taking care of it lol
Hey XI, i was just wondering... where did you get your stageII setup from on the SE?
Also just tryin to think how much my future StgI milzy purchase would add on as goes for HP gains, guessing and all...

Kidney stones suck...
Same kidney stone attacked me monday night at 11:00 PM and made me miss my exam the following day. Today this morning, kidney stone attacked again screwing up my school and homework schedule. Now the kidney stone is attacking AGAIN, and god damn does it hurt like it has every time so far... I want to remove my god damn kidney with a rusty spoon right now...

On the donut, you should hav picked it upp ,
acted like you were going to eat it( as you walked by him )and triped and smash it on his nice white button up *shirt and blu tie :ylsuper:
On with cars,
I still enjoy my GAs.
I hate that it cost me so much over the years. Now parts are more available and not quite as expensive. But I'm not sinking that much into the GT.:grinno:
Once I finish changing my SE to an SS (probly turbo(s)).
To finish, I need to lower the car, swap out the bottom end of the engine with performance parts made for @ least 10psi and above.
Get a ram air hood, and do the yello stripe down the top.
Hopefully by then, something will come up for the our transmissions to be a little more durable.
Gir, My heads were done by ME!
Project fury suplied the info I need to complete the head build.
THat was a link you posted wasnt it, THANKX !
The cam came from Advance for $375+ ship, and they dont carry them any more. Probly because no one bought one but me
IMO Stage I isnt worth the money or the effort. With headers and HFC you would feel a differance but not what you;d get from a little more $$$ .
Vipey, kidney stones do suck!
You drinking that tap water at school ?
Indiana has realy hard water, I only drink from my house(which is reverse osmosised) or bottled water.
I think not drinking enough fluids period is how they form. I've not had them but know many who have and they were in tears.
Best bet is to see a DR if you havent already. Pretty sure they'll hook you up with some drugs that might help the pain and maybe to pass it :yikes:
Have a wet evening everyone :D
* total speculation

idk :dunno: there would be some gain with the StageI setup Im planning on for next year, really it'd be to compliment the cam more than anything. If I decide on not going with it, Id still get the cam on my stock...
getting the milzy setup for me anyways would be an opportunity to build up the engine and replace gaskets as well =p lol just cause I havent had any leaks doesnt mean they'll eventually show up lol
today or tomorrow I get to call up K&N corp. and ask em what filter would fit best with a 99' ford taurus v6. The intake is strange, Coming from the engine its fine, stock crap tubing, some sensors/hoses then it gets to the MAF... which is circle on 1 side. and [ ] square on the other :screwy: and I gotta find a way to setup a cone filter. if all else fails there are drop-ins for it but im trying to defeat this lol... I see the square and I see a challenge...
ALSO! same with a 92 Ford F150... no idea on engine size gotta look that up but it has dual hoses coming out past the MAF... and K&N should be able to help, hence they have dual flange filters :naughty: .. We've already mounted up a muffler (similar to my old one, red hots holley performance muffler) to the truck, perfect fit going OVER stock piping knocking it w/ a rubber mallet hammer, went on smooth... I also got to play with an electric saw or w/e .. went to town on the stock pipe... the old muffler was rusted out anyways :gay: ... little bit louder, we plan on taking out the resonator and adding the filter... guy just wants his truck louder and we should be able to do all of that once we're done :evillol:

Good Luck with the Taurus, and the F150.
Dont think Ive ever seen anything for the taurus that would fit a cone filter on there. Other then a filter that fits in the stock airbox.
I would think the F150 has a round breather filter ontop of the Carb/TB like most V8s. Been a while since Ive seen 92 f150.

I thought about throwing the donut at him... but i decided not to. He knows though that he's in for it for revenge... It wouldn;t be the first time me and a coworker has done something to him. The last one involved a statue of Jack Daniels, a blow up doll and some hand cuffs... and I'll leave the rest to your imagination! LMAO.
Vipey: I've heard that kidney stones suck badly.. If you drink a lot of soda you can actually get them as well from that. I had to stop drinking soda do to severe pains in my sides....., but now I'm drinking it again...( without pain at the moment) DAMN CAFFEENE Addiction!
Gir: have you looked in the SHO taurus's set up for the air box and K/n air filters. I believe in some years that you can change them around and that they make different set ups. I really don't know much about them, execpt a buddy of mine had 2 SHO's and they were pretty quick.
XI: I would love to see you G/a turned into an SS. It would be cool if you could do a custom paint job with a metallic yellow color, and leave it basic outside and sleeper under the hood.
well back to work i go! Enjoy the weekend guys!

Well I wouldnt "throw" the donut  Just a slip and smash
I drink like a 6pac of Dews a Day!

Ya I gave up drugs and alcohol and my cigaretts, I'll be damned if I give up my Dews ! :grinno:
Ya I have some good plans for the SE just need to get the $$ and time to put it all together.
I've gone this far, So I see no reason why I shouldnt follow through with my original plan of boosting.
I just think of all the ca$h in my SE and think, I could have a new GTO or TA :banghead:
But everyone see's them as a performers, and when they see the GA SE turning 10sec 1/4's and burning down the streets They'll be shocked as hell.
Hoping to recoup some cash at shows and hopefully get it put in a Magaxine or two :ylsuper:

If you can get it tuned and polished.... you'll definetly will win some shows! But cash is always the issue. That's why my g/a is sitting under a pile of leaves probably rusting right now.. :disappoin As i was looking at your sig before, i thought of something that would be perfect. if you could get some custom rims made that look similiar to the g/a rims, but that are lightweight... that would be perfect! It'll keep off the weight and improve you times. just don't hit any curbs!
Well i had to stop soda once for it starting to mess with my teeth :icon16: . Then after something like 6 years i started drinking it again, and i was fine until i started to drink alot then i got nasty pains... so again i stopped... So now i drink very little soda, and mostly juices, and teas.

YA I have an extra set of the 15 spoke wheels. Going to powder coat them to match the yello theme I started. :D
Polishings nothing to hard.
I plan on also gutting the interior and dyno matting every inch to keep noise down, and it should help with the extensive heat you get from a black car in the sun. Good but expensive insulating!
Then doing black carpets, and leather seats.
I found a GT with leather and its a total, but the guys a Dick (really his name is richard, but every1 calls him Dick) and wants to much. I could buy new in a box for his prices and its just setting thier getting wet/dirty. :shakehead
One thing I just noticed this week, the SE steering wheel is covered in leather. The GT is some type of plasticy/rubbery crap
You would think they would be just the oposite :dunno: :screwy:
It just might be 1-2yrs before its finished, but It'll be the sharpest GA anywhere around here thats for sure.
have a great weekend everyone !

Whenever I do hard right turns going slow... giving it a little gas it skip shifts.. its fine.. shifts ok and im gone... if Im turning left and I do the same... sometimes its like it doesnt catch :dunno: and I gotta be easy with it and not give it gas, let it catch on its own, straighten out and go.... think it could be the fluid level? I still have a quart of royal purple max atf in the garage... I would think by now any air pockets have gone to the top... should I try to top it off and see if that clears it up?

Left turn slips are usualy because fluid is low, tho I'd probly go somwhere and have it checked first to see if thats the case.
Its not good to overfill :nono:

My Gt had the leather wrapped steering wheel. The car had everything when i bought it except the leather seats and a block heater ( not like i needed it) The G6 has the rubber steering wheel and its a GTP i would think it would have the leather steering wheel as well. I guess not.
Gir : careful with those tranny slips. The same thing happened to my mothers Grand Marquis, and it was 2nd gear that was shredded. Definetly get it checked hopefully it's low on fluid only.
I'm itching to mod the g6 already.... AHHHHH! The most i've done so far was take off the ugly ass emblem off the rear ( i have to take off hte rest yet though), and tinted the rear 3rd brake light.... It NEEDS MORE, MORE I TELL YA!
Enjoy the rest of your sunday guys or what's left of it.....

alrighty, ill try and stop buy sometime thursday to the kwik kar guys.. they have a funnel that fits snug down there.. easy to pour =p my idea was gonna be some hose from like home depot + funnel lol.. seems like the better idea than huge 2foot funnels to reach down somewhere lol
the slippage I guess only happens ever so often but it happens enough for me to notice.. ya know?
Ill get it checked out, ummmm you think that all the air pockets just went towards the top?

grfnkl, I know that MOD feeling !
Thiers some stuff at PFYC isnt thier ?
I really havent looked at to much stuff other then the GP .
Gir, You might want to get your fluid level checked before that long.
It doesnt take but about 1/2-3/4 a quart to make it slip.
And slipping isnt good since these tranys are so whimpy :gay:
That long funnel, it is called a transmission funnel

I'm already on that forum anyways. they do have some good tips and advise on the mods that are being produced, and some very detailed with pics.. just like Xi would do! But it still doesn't stack up to the G/a forums...
For the mods, I haven't seen anything i really liked much at PFYC so far... just the basics... I really don't need any extra performance on the car as of yet... just the little things. I really want to mod the headlights though....
Gir: It's a PITA to add tranny fluid! Just becareful with that stupid red cap, don't drop it in the engine compartment like i did! you think it's hard to reach, wait till it falls down! HAHAH!

It's been in the low 50's here lately, around 25 at night, no snow yet, possibly next weekend. Better snow on the east coast this year, I didn't spend $22k on a new 4x4 for nothing

I was thinking the same thing Gir ......
You could be right on the search feature, we have covered about everything.
I'm still with the dex in the SE, it still looks orange at almost 1yr. The GT has it but it looks nasty again, even after the gasket change.
THough I did not do a flush :screwy:
Probly get that in this week before it gets to cold, or rainy :shakehead

It handles loose and has to much bounce.
Guess its strut time!
Since they have 160k miles on them.
Was Thinking about swaping motors and turboing the GT sedan:smokin: :evillol:
Putting the SE back to stock and selling it

Hey guys,
hope you all had a good Turkey day... I personally don't want to see turkey for the next year or two. I haven't been around much since i got a quite a few days off from work... and now I'm playing catch up with work and play! LOL. At least during some of these days off I found the time to put up the outside decorations while it's still on the nicer warm side. I still haven't start my shopping yet either, I need to get my ass in gear and start buying things for other people and hopefully not for myself.
well i better get back to work....
enjoy the day.

Yep that sounds about right.... the problem is we do get the snow and ice up here and they feel since they have an SUV or a honda Civic ( the little kids in thier ricers) that they can do 40+ in 6 inches of snow and ice... so end result they spin out and cause a massive pile up or they wrap the car into a guard rail.
My weather girl was telling me last night that there is a possibility of snow for us by sunday! Which i hope we get something and it sticks cuz i want to know how this G6 will handle the snow.
XI: Time off is good! the hotel was dead last week into this week... and since i'm sales... what am i gonna do? I'm not about to go out to any companies since most were either closed or limited staff, so DAYS OFF! WOHOO!

Well the strom is close here now.
It was 60 deg and raining lastnight,
now its 37deg rain/sleet/freezing = snow soon.
I Put some sand and salt mix into my truck just in case I need to get my self unstuck
Snow is not a problem with me...
its the ice under the snow that throws you off the road :yikes:
be carefull out there guys!
