Let me put in a bizzarre thing to hit upon in a keyword search:

Gas Turbine Engine.

Now you also know what I have been up to. I figured out after putting it off for so long, it's time I built one! I figure that within two years, I will have a streetable, free-turbine style go-go-GO Kart with a 90 HP turbine powering it for the same weight as a 6HP Techumseh or Honda generator engine. :D

Show of hands how many of you guys have ever saw an exhaust get so hot it went from orange to a fireball?
It was cool but scary cuz my best friend was sitting above said fireball yesterday.we were doing donoughts and driving through 8ft high grass i had my dads explorer which i am gonna acquire for cheap and beat lol.It sticks the donuts really well.Well my friend in his 97 noma 2wd is going round and round round and round and then it goes orange then fireball and i jumped out to get him to stop and when he did my best friend who was in passenger seat got out to inspect itNot good at all. From past cat up to header all orange and cat got burned lol it was sweet looking but scary. Also blew a right front in nascar terms.Chomping through mud and made one too many hard lefts and boom lol cut it in like 4 spots then had to half mile on rim to get to a friendly spot on road to call for assistance lol.Such fine times such fun times.November 13th is week of V8 i am gonna get you guys some pics of results.Mechanic doing "hard work" i dont know about that i think rebuilding motor was hard work but he says the dropping in and hooking up all the wires is hard work, i dont know.Exhaust guy who is in his 60s 70s is gonna have fun i have to go talk to him and see what he is doing.Right now i think he is not putting cats on which i want cuz of emissions they dotn need to work just be there. Will be back here with another 100 LOL posts

Crashed the Blazer today. Was going through an intersection at about 10mph and had a green light and a moron taxi cab driver coming in the opposite direction decided to take a left so he would basically be cutting in front of me to go down a side street. So he is coming the opposite way, takes a hard left, slams on the break cause the side street to my right that he is trying to get to is all backed up and he stops in the middle of the road. All of this happened with time for me to hit the brakes and slide about 5 feet into him. His passenger side quarter panel and fender are a mess and my whole passenger side is basically lost. I had to pry the bumper in a fit of rage to get it off the tire so I could make the 5 minute drive home. Bastard tried to blame the other guy who let him go and then he tried to blame the traffic not being able to squeeze in. I told him I don't care who you blame as long as my truck gets fixed asap. Exchange papers and boy is he pissed. I technically hit him but I have the right of way going straight through a green light when he cutting across the lanes to turn at full speed and not creeping out to see if cars were coming. I will update with pics hopefully. My Blazer looks sad ;( waaaahaaaaa

oh shit you hit my taxi, now i cannot send money to family in Pakistan! I must sell wife, to feed my goat. Sorry to hear about the Blazer man, at least he's at fault, I'm assuming he had a green light, NOT the arrow! yeah, he's fucked. The guy who let him go??? did someone else have control of his vehicle? and he stopped across a lane?? not, i'm mad that his car wasn't totaled!

blazee
10-29-2005, 06:07 PM
Damn, that sucks man.

Did you get the info of the guy that let him go, too? Not sure about your state, but in Florida the other person would be charged, too. It is illegal to direct traffic.

Want to hear my shitty story? I just got a letter from the Miami police stating that I'm being charged with a Hit and Run, that occured 7 months ago....... Miami is 4 hours away and I've only been there once and that was about 5 years ago.

Miami is 4 hours away and I've only been there once and that was about 5 years ago. are you able to prove that you were NOT in Miami at that time? maybe you were on the clock at that time? or had punched out/in within an hour or so... Another thing, How have they come to the conclusion that its you? did someone have a similar plates? I know Ive seen other s10 pu's in my ares with the same 000-FIR plates as i have. I know that its the State's responsibility to prove that you WERE there, at the crime scene, but they make up shit to make cases.

10-29-2005, 07:22 PM
It's hard to find proof of anything 7 months later. The tag number that they got was registered to me. In 02, a friend of mine wanted an RV and couldn't get approved for the financing, I put it in my name. He paid for the tag, insurance and everything, but because it was financed in my name.... everything else had to be in my name, too. He sold the RV in 04. I thought that was the end of it until now. When I got the letter, I called him. He says that he took the tag off the RV, but the way that he said it....I'm not to sure that he did. If he did take the tag off, that means someone stole it from his house and is using it. The tag expired in 04. I've got paperwork showing that the RV was financed for him, and I've got the paperwork showing that it was sold in 04..... hopefully that's enough.

.......One more piece of bad news, the letter is dated 10-12-05, I got the letter on 10-28-05.....16 days later. It says I have ten days to reply, which means I was suppose to reply 6 days before I recieved it. WTF???

mike1224
10-29-2005, 07:40 PM
I'm not sure if this is the case, but i know that in some states the plates stay with the vehicle. But if he forgot to take them off you may be screwed, or were stolen, since there was no police report made, it might be hard to prove they were stolen! you should be able to get a police report which will give you the info on vehicle description, time of accident. hopefully oyu can track something down that'll disprove the states claims

blazee
10-29-2005, 07:46 PM
In florida the tags are purchased and belong to the individual. The lady at my local tag office, said that it wasn't an active tag, because it was listed in my history file. She gave me a print out showing that it wasn't renewed, it wasn't assigned to any vehicles, and that the RV was no longer registered to me. She said that it would cover me, but.... she's just a clerk and not a lawyer, or anything.

The letter lists no other contact info other than a mail address. I found their number on their website and tried calling for several hours yesterday and only recieved a busy signal. I sent an email to the address on their site and haven't recieved a reply either......bastards!

mike1224

now just find out what hit that guy. compare that descritpion to what the plates were previously registered to, and I hope you can at least prove that the plates don't match to anything you own or previously owned. That should be reasonable doubt. Like i said before, if theres a way your time clockings can be back-tracked it proves that theres no-way you were there.

Yikes Blazee, talk about history haunting you and biting you on the ass. But to let you know right now? Changing your avatar is not going to get those guys off the scent.

Now for folks that want pictures, sure thing. I am going to be documenting this along with a bunch of crazy projects I already have out on another site of mine. However, I am hitting a wall here, as I am fresh out of the gates. First off, if you're going to play with turbine spools, you are going to need the tools. I got my hands on a MIG welder from a pawn shop. It was used once, then thrown in the box and sold off - it's practically new with the entire kit except for the gas bottle(s). For shits and grins, I got her set up for flux core welding to see if I can finish some other little jobs around the house but I realized something - I don't know jack SHIT about welding. *snicker* My brother's a pro welder for a living and I am waiting for him to call back and school me on my little "home" buzz-box. He works with huge Miller industrial units so this should be a piece of cake for him to walk me through.

Once I get a few welds under my belt and find scrap steel to tinker with, I will start slinging together my jigs and cutting the stainless sheets and tubes to form up the internal parts, combustion chambers and the like. I lucked out - initial reading on the web states that for the materials I am working with, my welder is *overkill*, so I just have to dial back it's settings and it should be a cinch. Oh, and the deal was really sweetened - the machine sells brand new, as outfitted for a little over $450. I snagged her out from some guy still making up his mind when I asked the clerk behind the counter how much for the little blue box. The fellow said it was $130. "SOLD!" I said and picked the box up faster than a dog picks up fleas. :evillol:

Now....how do I turn this thing on again? *snicker*

Here's something I shouldn't admit... We spent the whole day without turning the clocks back. I just looked at my wife and said "wow - the computer already updated the daylight savings time"! Then it dawned on me that today is SUNDAY!!! Well - that explained a few small things throughout the day. It really didn't affect anything important since we're off work and spent the day shopping. Talk about feeling stupid though...
