I have no idea whay i'm getting such shitty mileage per tnak. If it is just my muffler, I will get rid of it and put stock back on. If any of you know of anything, please tell me. I know my car is capable of getting better.

its cool because most of the people that I work with are around my age 18-25, im 22. but the older ones 40+ sometimes are the dirtyist (sp?). sometimes it helps having little to no thought process about words. blazerman, i know you'll apprecaite this, some disgruntled safeway employees in canada made a website http://stockermentality.com on the right hand side theres a small menu for different months.

When I think about it, there are about, i'm going to estimate. At the target I work at maybe 10 young ladies around my age. The rest are old. There are a few MILFs though. But most are old.
Our stockroom team leader is an older MILF who has a doughter that is maybe a year older than me. This mom has got one hot body for bing like 45 or so. Kind of like Madonna.

Has anyone else noticed that the price of heater cores has gone up? Mine went this summer and I've been running with it bypassed. I priced one during the summer and it was $60...... fast forward to cooler weather, now they are $100+. WTF! price gouging bastards.
Well, at least rockauto still has them for less than $60.

When was the last time that you did a tune-up?
Plugs
Wires
Cap (if you have one)
Rotor (if you have one)
Air filter
Fuel filter
PCV valve
How many miles are on it? Do you do a lot of stop and go? Let it idle for long periods? Is the MIL on?

Oil change every 2500-3000 miles
plugs and wires fall of 2004
KN&N air filter a month ago (WAI short ram intake)
fuel filter spring of 2005
PCV valve?
Cap?
Rotor? What are these three?
My car has approx. 71k miles. I do a lot of in town driving. Not really idles except when warming it up in the winter when i start it. I never use my AC when it's hot out. Not sure what the MIL is.
I do have a straight through muffler. Not sure if that makes a difference.

PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve, It's a check valve that allows the blowby gases to be removed from the crankcase and burned with the fuel. They normally are right in the middle of the valve cover. looks something like this:
http://www.smpcorp.com/web_app/catalog/images/V173.jpg
Cap = distributor cap. Your car probably doesn't have one
Rotor = distribitor rotor. Your car probably doesn't have one of these either.
MIL = Malfunction Indicator Lamp. AKA check engine light (CEL), Service Engine Soon (SES) light.

Update on 5.7 rebuild:
With some redneck ingenuity lol that last head bolt came out today.Pried it up with rachet till it got stuck then i just put socket on it and out it came. Then i nearly broke the toe when i yanked off old cylinder head it went and fell on toe. Then i found out that there was a failure in gasket around where cylinder 4 is on passenger side basically last one in back and that a stuck valve was the culprit leading to some siezing over there.Got the head gasket coppered up and with the help of some friends bolted the head on. Tomorrow prob gonna install the pushrods and rockers on that side do some massive intake area clean up then place intake manifold on and then valve covers on and start to figure out what sensors i need to get and what filters etc.

Way off topic, but this is the place for it. :)
I was coming back from doing some parts and chemical shopping in a neighboring town that had a store that keeps expanded hours. (More stuff for mixing up magic goo to treat the gas with) Anyway, there is a main drag leading out of the place with a light at the bottom of a hill. After the light the main drag goes from 45 to 50 MPH. Up beside me comes a "built up" and totally riced out Toyota MR-2. You know what I am talking about, super large wheels with wide, flat looking tires, dual exhaust, whale-fin on the rear deck set at too little of an angle to do any good, let alone lacking front ground effects to actually balance the aerodynamics to make the car stick to the road. Oh, and a thumping loud custom audio system. So there I am at this light and this yahoo guns the gas. Dual fart cans rat-a-pap-popping away. My truck's completely blacked out, so I am sure the fellow never saw the smirk on my face. The light starts to change and this fella jumps it, dumping the clutch and making a thin chirp-a-chirp of those fat wheels on the pavement. I wait for the light, and well, bury the throttle with a very satisfying roar of the induction as well as the exhaust that made the wheels not scream so much as make grinding noises. (You know your shit's balanced just-so when the two resonate in harmony with a very agressive harmonic. Verrah, verrah nice. I am positive I must have left two trenches in the pavement behind me. By the time I launched and got up to 50 MPH and backed off the throttle - I was 5 car lengths ahead of him! I kept just enough gas to maintain the 50 MPH up the grade. I must have pissed the guy off because I can hear his fart cans winding up as he downshifted and nailed the gas. He zooms by me in the right lane and still climing the hill, he has to downshift again to keep acellerating away from me. I let him go. GLad I did though, for behind me, blue lights zoomed past me after signaling over into the right lane on this four lane highway - he was in persuit of the fire-engine red Toyota. Sucker. :loser: :iceslolan
I used to "rice" out Japanese cars in my past, but starting building for torque in my later years. Our 4.3's when treated right have shitloads of it - and THAT'S what pulls you out ahead of the pack quickly. *snicker* It's a kick in the pants when the plenum turns the IMTV vane, you feel like it's got a turbo charger under the hood that just spooled up to speed and the induction tone changes from a "Vooooooo" to a "RAAAAAAAAAAARRRRR!" For some reason too, from the rear, you start hearing an almost metallic cackle from the exhaust, reminiscient of my tricked out Legacy. Scooby's have a very distinct exhaust note when you hit their peak power bands too.

I have a really nice fart cannon on my cavalier. It does not sound ricey what-so-ever. It actually has a nice growl to it....on a 4 cyl. SOme of you might think it sounds crazy and might laugh. But I like it and it don't have that higher tone of a sound. It's neat.
I had a kid in a neon pull up next to me the other day. He reved his engine, and of course had stock exhuast (from the sounds of it). I thought i'd have some fun and put mine in neutral and rev mine. My windows are darkened enough to where they can't see inside but his was down and I could see him.
The look on his face was priceless when I reved up my engine. Of course mine is pretty much stock, but I ended up pulling ahead of him. Reminds of this time I raced a Talon and won. But that's a whole different story. I don't want o bore you guys and gals from hearing rice stories. Peace out.
