I hope this post doesn't get zapped , but if it does, I apologize in advance Mr. Mod..

We really should delete some of the comments, mostly mine. I will if anyone asks me too. That's why we have the off topic thread.

Sitting here is the proud owner of vehichle number 2.
After searching long and hard, calling mucho financial institutions and no loans i gave up>Went to Pa got a loan from him. Went looking today for buy here pay here so i could put what he had to give me down plus what little i had managed to save.
Up the road from where we live about 5 miles is a small dealer with mostly newer vehichles. He had a 595 special.Early 80s Chevy 2.5. I figured what the heck since i only plan on having this one a year. Well that turned out to be sold but he had just got in from his brothers girlfriend her 89 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais. It has some rust basically where the truck had it.Has no inspection but what made it great was he is going to inspect it which makes it good for one year. It has an R-title but that was before she had gotten it. She had the car from around 7500miles to now 128k. He had a price of 700 on it but we got it for 685 w tax title and tag transfer.
Ill have pics up Monday night or Tuesday morning. Picking it up Monday afternoon around 230. So pysched. Me has wheels and what not again.
The interior is insane. Couple minor defects but nothing major. It has chrome trim around all the door locks and switches. The gauge cluster is insanely fricking attention getting. I redlined the 4 cylinder 2.5 out at 6200 RPM.
The steering is tight as hell and suspension has no visible or reactive problems. I can tell a female drove the car by how quiet the motor is, how it doesnt shake and just runs insane. Outside like i said their is some rust but im not worried w it going through inspection.
So in review,
1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais 2 door Coupe 2.5 4 cylinder 128k miles for 685.
Anybody got any good oldsmobile sites i can get onto? I need to know if i can put the 2.25" cat and muffler on this, and what i can do for an air intake.
Also anything performance for the calais, nothing too much just to get me from the 98HP to over a 100. The thing is supposed to have 98HP and 135ftlbs torque. 23 City 33 highway.
Any info or what not let me know.

RAID is a system for using hard drives as redundancies for back-up. It doesn't show one drive because its using one drive to back up the others. Unless thats the way you want your computer set up you should just disable RAID and set it up normally.

I got stranded tonight. I don't think that I've been stranded in over 10 years until tonight either.
I had a potential customer come in yesterday looking for a 7 seater van, so I found her a really clean 6 seater transport van with room for 1 more. So the lot bought it, knowing that we can sell it even if she doesn't want it.
I took it home tonight, then ran it down to the car wash, and grabbed some tough up paint.
By that time I was hungry, ran over to A&W, and the fuel pump quit in the parking lot.
I hate being stranded, but I'm glad that it happened to me instead of on a test drive.
Whomever buys this one will have 1 nice clean, tight van for a very fair price. Although it's high mileage.
My messanger is off tonight, I need some sleep

Is this a GM van or what? And Fuel Pump replaced already?
OverBoardProject
03-22-2006, 01:48 AM
It's a Pontiac so a GM product. It has the longest dash that I've ever seen.
The fuel pump will be replaced bu the weekend, and i'd like to have it sold bu then.
It'll be a very high commission van, every other lot ignored it because it had tatered and torn seat coveres, and the carpet was covered on that patio carpet.
Well you'd never guess what I discovered, everything was covered up within weeks after they bought it. It's almost perfect.
I need to get the head lined re-upolstered. I'll look into geting a DVD player installed at this time, or at least wired in for 1.
My boss paid $350.00 for it, and we'll probably sell it for $3500 - $4000
Tomorrow was suposed to be my day off, although I have a couple of hours work lined up now trying to make this deal happen.
Plus I finally have that interview with the grocery store tomorrow.
If I get it I'll be working in the seafood department in a fishing town. I'm sure that they know tricks that in-land people just don't have the opertunity to learn.
I would think that this experience will be very valuable where ever I move to in the future

Welcome to Automotive Forums singleroni
This isn't really the right place to post a vehicle related problem, it's more the place to BS about every day life. However we'll give it our best shot helping you out.
I might not understand you correctly.
From what your saying it sounds to me like when it's colder than 35 degrees the starter won't even turn over.
If this is true it could be a few things, and they are all related.
First thing to check is the battery. This might sound odd, but batteries don't have as much energy when they're cold.
Next check out the big battery wires. They do eventially get too much corosion to work properly. Again heat can effect them.
There is still a chance that it's your ignition switch. They do go from time to time. If it's the ignition switch it's just coincidence that it doesn't work in the cooler temps.
And the last thing is the starter.
You can warm the battery up with a hair drier enough, where if it's the problem it'll start.
And you can test the rest with a multi meter.
This web site might help you, if not let us know

In a perfect world changing an oxy sensor is as easy as changing a spark plug, just a little harder to get into.
But in the real world it's probably sceized on there with rust. Which requires a oxy acetlene tourch to loosen.
Try using penetrating oil over night, and then taking it off woth a socket, or even a box end wrench, but if it doesn't move you'll have to drive it to where you can use a torch.
Lots of luck
