96 maxima vs 03 altima 3.5L

Lol, 1986, I still have yet to find a 300zx Z32 that will race, I know a turbo'ed one would beat me, but I am sure a 5 speed would be a fun run, I'd lose though :)

Just to let you guys know I added a ypipe and the race pipe to my maxima, he got scared and does'nt want to race me.

i found another 3.5l altima and raced him to day, took him from the jump and stayed 1/2 car in front of him until he let up at 115

Altimas bog third gear FYI on the 2.5. And I have beaten 4 Maximas, so I am not worried about beating an Auto. Just waiting for someone with enough balls to race me

Altimas are fast but still not fast enough to beat a 3.0L Max using just the 2.5, it must have been the drivers of the Max's and not the car itself, even if it was an auto Max. A 3.5 Altima can barely edge and in some cases lose to a 2k Max with 222hp, now you're telling everyone here that you're challenging a 2k with 222hp as long as it's auto and that you would win.

I still don't see how you would win because in essence what you are saying is that your 2.5 Altima can beat a 3.5 Altima, think about it. If you say you can beat a 2k Max 3.0 V6, which can beat a 3.5 Altima in some cases,then you are saying that you can also beat a 3.5 Max auto which has been dynoed around the same hp as a 3.5 Max.

If you don't believe my posting of the hp numbers for the 3.5 Altima and 3.5 Max are the same go to www.maxima.org and look for the threads on missing 15 hp or do a search. There are also dyno sheets on both 3.5 Max and 3.5 Altima. Another question, why would Nissan need to make a 3.5 Altima if the 2.5 Altima is faster?

In essence you are also saying that your 2.5 which supposedly can beat a 3.0 222hp Max which means it can also beat a 3.5 Altima seeing that a Max 3.0 222hp can beat or in the very least either gets edged or edges out a 3.5 Altima.

I'm not dissin you or doubting that you beat 4 Max's :rolleyes: what I'm saying is that maybe you should explain your logic and why you are so sure that your car can beat a Max when it only has 175hp (given that you have an auto or 5spd, factor in drivetrain loss or crank to wheel hp loss you're looking at around 145 or something to the wheels, plus your car is heavier and bigger) and a Max has 190 to 255 hp given the proper gen (which is smaller and lighter, means factoring in the drivetrain loss and crank to wheel hp, a loss between for the 190 to 160ish and 222 to 180ish and 255 to 214ish) and you still would win?

this is my last entry in this thread that i started weeks ago. the car was a 2.5l 03 altima,with a home made CAI with K&N filter,home made race pipe(cat. replacement) and cat back exhaust 4 1/2'' tip 5-speed i have cattman y pipe, JWT pop charger intake, race pipe and greedy cat back exhaust 4'' tip. we raced 4 times 3 times he was at least 2-3 car lenths behind after 1/4 mile and one time about 1-1 1/2 car lenths behind(he had a awesome take off) he walked away pissed i walked a way 200.00 richer. just go to show you don't under estimate a automagic maxima:smoker2: :sun:

oh and another thing, no exhaust mods, the v6 just makes too much power, if you want to race, please keep it low on the mods list, all the maximas I spanked had no more than intake except for the 91 SE with intake, high flow cat and exhaust, but that was an easy whoopin.

When I use to own my Slower Maxima, I use to race these little dumb ass's in Civics and shit who thought they could beat me. SO I said Sure, lets run and I would murder them. Then I got my Altima and my cousin with a Maxima pulled the same thing, he was like hah, I will kill you, so finally one day we duke it out, he brake torque'ed his launch and I pulled him by a car and a half nearing the end of my second gear. So if you guys want to talk shit and nag at me, I race from experience and talk from it to, so if any so-cal guy wants to race me with Intake and exhaust, no high flow cats or race pips because I am not an idiot and the V6 makes too much torque for me to hang with that, then I will race you. Yeah I know, a Spec V did beat me which a chick driving. It was pretty damn quick. I knew it would beat me, we started at like 40mph and it just pulled.

But until one of you guys with a Maxima gets balls and races me, I am gonna post this same line over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.

And yes I am aware that I downgraded from a maxima to a Altima, but my Maxima was a 97 with 110,000 miles, automatic, no abs, leather and paint sucked on it. My altima is much faster and better looking. So I am not really regretting it.

I'm speaking of taking it to the red line so that it will get the best amount of torque and horsepower out of it and launch hard into the next gear. My car is an auto and I have beaten Mustangs by 2-3 car lengths with a full sound system and a car load of passengers. So when I do make it down to the southern part of Nevada I will make a special trip to So-Cal to teach you the lesson that you need to learn. Oh and by the way my car is completely stock and won't lighten the weight of the car by removing my sound system.

Out of my 20 friends with a manaul tranny car, 1 of them can drive as good as me, whenever they race, they always have me race their car. I am not talking out of my ass or anything. I've been into cars for years and have been racing for three years, may not be a lot, but every day is. When racing my friends GT Stang against our Friends M3, I was able to win, the guy that owns that stang even had me run his car at hte track because his times sucked. Now for hopping into a car thats not mine and running it in 85* at Carlsbad, I was able to hit a 14.1 on bald street tires. With mods it runs well into the 13's now. I have a lot of respect for a Maxima, I use to love romping on other cars, like BMWs, 3 series and even a 528 was one of my victims. I picked up on plenty of stangs as well. The problem is, I always was getting beat by GSR integras, even stock ones. So something tells me if a GSR is running a 15.5 1/4 time that its bull shit when I get beat by one in my Auto max which is suppose to be running a 15.5. With the car I have now, I noticed I am much better able to hang with Vtec integras and other quicker cars. I even had the joy of beating a lexus GS300 with intake and exhaust. I have also beat a (newest gen)BMW 323 Coupe 5 Speed and Auto Sedan. You guys are under estimating a car that doesnt weigh much and makes a good amount of power for a four cylinder. I am sure if I still had my Maxima I would be bagging on me as well, but until you guys actually race me and see that I give you a run, you will be suprised. I am thinking this weekend I am going to talk my cousin into racing me on video, keep in mind the camera will be placed in his car and aimed at his tach as it hits near redline on every gear and the camera will be aimed up after that at my car as it pulls away. I dont know why you guys are getting so mad that a newer car can beat an older car. If anyone down here with a 5th Gen 222hp maxima wants to race, I will be more than happy to run them if they have an Auto tranny. it also has a FOUR CYLINDER

The Max is LIGHTER

I should have said 2000 Stang, which no Maxima stock for stock can beat, even a 2003 Max. BMW M3 and pissstang run near similar 1/4 times. If you think you can beat an Integra in your Auto Max, come down to so-cal, there is about 20 of them that can smoke you everywhich way. YOu brake torque and I will still kick the crap out of your car off the line, you guys are talking more shit hten me now, but I am not giving up until I race an Auto maxima.

Like I said off the line you may get me but by 30 mph you'll be looking at nothing but Maxima fat juicy @$$, trust me that lil 2.5 is the wimpiest line of Nissan sedans, even the Sentra will bust that up with the same engine. Nissan is not stupid, they would never make a 2.5 faster than their 3.0L Max, get over it you have the slowest sedan and you have lost before this thread even started. If I beat my friend's Altima SE 2.5 (same car as yours, oh, he probably a better driver) 5 out of 5 times by more than 7 cars what makes you think you are going to beat me?

Sick and unwise to challenge a Max with a wimpy 2.5 heavy @$$ slowest sedan in the line-up vehicle. That is why I got rid of my Altima(s) in the first place, it was just too damn slow.

hold on just a minute there buddy...you are honestly trying to say that a Mustang GT can run with an M3. that is probably the most ridiculous thing i have heard in quite some time. M3 will rip a GT a new asshole, and then piss all over it and kick it in the nuts. i bet it was only running on 5 cylinders, that's the only way. even then...i don't know about that

I thought that part sounded a lil fishy too but I wasn't certain what year or what type of mods the Stang may have had to be able to beat the M3. I know that stock for stock the M3 will wipe his @$$ with the Stang's drawers (draws<ebonics for you Blucivic).

I give up, you can't debate with ignorance, you win JB your car is the fastest, slickest shifting 5spd 2.5 Altima and it will stomp any Maxima especially an automagic because they take 10 minutes between each shift (you know, granny tranny) and your car is better than any Max because it's got a 5spd and it never loses to any car espeially an auto Maxima.

hey nick,its me again i think you should leave this forum and come back after you grow up son,anyway just felt like telling you my uncle works at my local nissan dealer and did some looking into this matter every one at the dealership says the same thing the 2.5l 2003 nissan altima falls short of any year maxima 3rd,4th,and 5th gen. maxima auto or manual he said you might ba able to take a 3rd gen. maxima if he's auto and your manual and able to get the jump. but other than that he said your full of sh*t !!!!!!! BY THE WAY I THINK WE SHOULD JUST STOP REPLYING TO THIS LITTLE ASS HOLE AND JUST LEAVE IT BE ITS A HOPE LESS CAUSE,HE'S NEVER GOING TO BEAT A MAXIMA UNLESS THE CAR IS SICK OR THE DRIVER ISN'T REALLY RACING !!!

There is a little problem, people look at my car and think its a v6 altima because the ground effects and rims and HIDs, so no one races me, i've only been picked on by a porshe boxter, s2000, S4 and a few m3s.

But who lives in OC and wants to race? I go to ontario/uplands/chino area on the weekends, so if you live there too I can go there.

Just to get this straight, you want to race a 4th gen? With what mods. I know it has to be auto. It seems like you are setting this race up in your favor. Your place, your conditions, your rules. I wouldn't race you just on the basis. I think everyone should just abandon this thread and label it as another one of those internet s@#t talking posts.

Yea, come down to L.A and I'll run you, I think thats why I kinda didn't say anything else on the race because I thought why the hell would I drive down to Orange county just to beat a 2.5 Altima when I could beat them all day here in L.A.
