96 maxima vs 03 altima 3.5L

wow, 8 seconds to reach 60, that sounds a little crazy to me, considering an escalade does it in like 7.4...and yes, i now, escalade has 6.0 liter v8, but it weighs over 5500 pounds

I have posted FACTS before in this thread - and of course they have been routinely ignored. So, here goes again:

1998 maxima 0-60 6.6 manual 7.6 auto
2000 maxima 0-60 6.7 manual 7.0 auto
2002 maxima 0-60 6.3 manual 6.7 auto
2002 altima(2.5) 0-60 7.7 manual 8.7 auto

Every kind of maxima beats the 2.5 altima. Only a highschool girl or a grandmother loses to the 2.5 - except for MAYBE vs the 1998 max auto (driven by a quadraplegic or a dog). Put equally skilled drivers in any of these vehicles and the maxs win every time.

I expect these facts will be ignored again, but since I already posted the theoretical data - that proved the 2.5 can't beat any max, I thought I would post the test-drive data - which also proves the 2.5 can't beat any maxima.

my point is that if a 5500 pound escalade runs to 60 in 7.4 seconds, there's no way in hell it takes a 3200 pound maxima 8.0 seconds to do the same, especially with better gearing

Maxima=Higher Top End
Maxima=Faster 0-60
Maxima=Faster to 1/4
Maxima=Higher speeds at the 1/4
Maxima=Better resale with a V6 then a lil weak @$$ 4cylinder that hasn't won any awards or received any known recognition.

Everyone stands by there cars and insults everyone who doesnt own their car. JBL dont hate on 4th gens cuz you have a newer car. Race the Spec V if you want a fair race. I dont think its fair for a v6 to go against a 4 banger. But I have to agree with you that the 4th gen auto tranny is a weak tranny cuz i have one myself. I think you beaten auto maximas cuz they were calispec autos. Calispec have more restrictive y pipes and are slower than the fed spec maximas cuz i have one myself. I wont be surprise if you beat my car cuz of my auto tranny but dont make the 4th gen inferior to another nissan. The 3.5 alty uses the same vq engine as the current maxima. Just my 2 cents. I'll be going down to the track at LACR in palmdale this friday. We could set up a friendly race if your so determine to prove the altima is faster.

LOL, no I dont hate 4th gens, I had one and so did my dad, they are awesome cars. Just wish mine was a 5 speed and I would still have it. My point was a near stock one wtih an Auto tranny is slightly slower then my 4 cylinder Altima. I am gonna try to make it out to a track day, but I really rather go to a road course, drag doesnt take much skill for me anymore (have to remember my slick shifting skills make it so I can beat a maxima which is faster then a ferrar:rolleyes: )
