Update: I hit 120 in 4th in my WRX today. I was duking it out with this jetta, and the SOB stayed right on my ass all the way from a stop till 120!!!! We started off just kinda cruising up till about 50(speed limit was 45), then i dropped a gear and punched it, he followed, and stayed right on my bumper till i cut off at 120.

Ive gone 120 in my 87 integra with only slightly modded suspension, it was pretty damn scary, flyin past semi's like they were sittin still was cool though.

140 MPH was the highest, cruisin at 95 MPH, going down the NJ Turnpike at 2 in the morning in my mom's bf 2001 Nissan Maxima, i flew from exit 12 to exit 4 in less than an hour, good thing i didnt get caught by the cops

130 MPH in Montana a few years ago in an old Cadillac Fleetwood (measured using a stopwatch and the mile marker posts). I had built the engine up so it had lots of torque, but still had the original tall axle ratio, (2:41). I had lots of revs and power let over, but I was not too fond of smacking a deer at that speed, so I did not go faster.

I have gone ~145-149. I was driving up I-95 from Camp Lejeune North Carolina to Baltimore MD. It is about a 400 mile drive that I did in 2 hours and 45 minutes. The ONLY reason i was driving so fast was that I was able to. Literally, there were maybe 10-15 cars we passed (me, a 3K GT VR4, Accord V6, and probe GT) the entire drive.

I did 295 around Richmond Va in 21 minutes (44 miles). It was such a great drive. I got home though, and was shaking so bad from adrenalin I just tossed the keys and did not drive for the rest of the day.

140 in a 2000 volvo c70 convertible. Very windy, so bitchin though.

Not sure, around 145mph in my old Falcon sedan fitted with a worked 351 clevo,top loader and 3:1 nine inch.
The speedo stopped at 120mph but the clevo was good for another 1000rpm.

I've been up to 240 kms in my Z28. I think thats equivalent to 150miles. The speedometer reached its max there but the car kept increasing in speed so i'm not really sure exactly how fast i got up to, but i'd say just around 155-160 miles. I've actually done this a few times, those long empty roads to my house are just so damn tempting :evillol:

dunno i did 132MPH on I-95 in Maine with my caddy catera, but i wasn't willing to keep it at that speed because i was a little over the redline (dunno why but my car doesn't limit revs/speed)

Yeepee! I'm going to germany on Sunday with my boss ans his car. I have till the german border to convert him to the thrill of speed (may be he is already, he's new so I don't know). I'll definitly have a go to beat my record previously posted.
I know there is some sections of the Autobahn which have speed limit, is it more toward the cities or is it randomly situated?

heh wow 92 mph in a 55 mph.. i went 95 in a 25 wouldve gone faster but my street was coming up :) just after 2 fast 2 furious let out of the movies it was about 10 pm noone on the road.. btw i live in a small town

my best friend brandon had a ninja 660 with frickin ram air and nos on it and had other stuff done to it...i think a cam and crank...cold air intake maybe??? i cant remember...the dumbass let me borrow it when he went on vacation in Tenn with his folks lmao
got on I-65 right past hayden-corner exit on a long ass straitaway and when I hit 6th I cut on the nos with WOT...i got up to near full speed and just as i let off i looked at the speedo (registered 180) and that stick was tappin the bead... i had to be goin 185 or 190....the fastest and scardest i've ever been in my entire life!!!
sadly enough, brandon died last year... a week after he sold his bike he had a head on collision in his ranger..it flipped his truck and he flew 30 feet after he busted out of the back window...THAT IS WHAT STREET RACING, NO MATTER WHAT THE SPEED, WILL DO FOR YOU! the woman he hit and killed was 23 and had a 4 year old girl... She was goin 55, he was goin 80

90mph in a 35 zone...pretty good for a 16 year old in a cavalier, in an area crawling with cops, during rush hour...very scary and stupid

143 in my chipped gti vr6 hit the limiter in a g35 coupe at 156 and stopped due 2 lack of road at 145 in a g35 sedan. my fastest was 180 in a 911 turbo cruisin down the autobahn.

about 97 mph wanted to go faster but damn truck topped out.. im 14 years old and live in a small town, only upside to small towns is rarity of cops... atm have no vehicle that can go any faster so im stuck goin 97 for a little while :(

130+ mph on the PA turnpike about a month ago

i went about 120 in my accord.. its an accord.. it only goes to 140 n its electronically limited to like 130 something.. lol

Hm, 105 :/ damn truck... I had my foot in it all the way for a good 5 minutes (well it seemed like that long) it only has low end.

more crazy than that though, I passed someone on the wrong side of the road... in a residential area....going 90.

155 MPH on a LS1 1998 Pontiac Firebird going north on the 110 Freeway with me and 2 of my friends.

My buddy just got a radar detector from Ebay and he wanted to test it out. I guess he was really serious about it...

But all I remember is being crushed back into my seat, going from one city to another in 1 min and seing cars pass by like they were just sitting there.

The cops did find out since we tripped over a radar but when that happened we took an exit and covered up near some normal traffic.

That same night he pulled a donut in a residential area intersection. Just bad ass.

Reminds me of my dad tellin me about his old Super Bee...175 mph down the intersate, but they didnt have Fuzz Busters back then and he gotta cop on him... we are lucky we have family in Law enforcement, His brother in law, my uncle, was the one who pulled him over so he didnt have to go to jail lol. ahh the days before i was born...

Im a mormon, and we were in my friends 1.8 turbo Jetta, we had four people in the back two in the front and no hope of seat belts coming back from a church activity. Two of the guys were flying kits out the window, they got cought together and the string broke some how (they were cheap kites) the guy behind us got all mad and swearved out of the way of these little plastic kites with his lifted suburban, all dramatic like. we were like "dude, hes gonna get your plates, and then that would be awkward" so we hit the gas, got on the toll way(74 in orange coutny) we hit up 137 with the windows down.

you can reach that daily on our german motorways! all day i drive topspeed of my car. well they are not so high like my friends turbo :uhoh: ...

in my '97 civic HX, i got up to 112, that was at a little bit of a hill too, the car can not go any faster than that, trust me, ive tried.

65-70 mph on a back road (im only 14, and yes, with a parent) and decided I shouldnt be doing that crap until I get more experience. I've been 140+mph riding in a stock 99' Trans Am though.

Although the tacmac is not the best in the world, people drives well and it's free. It also funny to feel that you can block the traffic at 215km/h like last time I've been there.

I got up to 110 in an Expedition (as fast as the spedometer shows) and it began to shake... I've gotten my P.O.S. civic up to 120. And I got pulled goin 95 in a 60 with additional wreckless driving, following too closely, and improper turn signal charges (6 points, $500), BUT GOT OUT OF IT COMPLETELY!! I LOVE BEING A GIRL!!! :rofl:

I quickly buried a 150 mph in my mustang on the beltway in houston. And i now drive a lightning that i took over 150 on the seawall in galveston

been driving for 6 days and hve pulled 101mph on a crowded california 5 freeway just as the treafic was slowing down.

i drove 115MPH in my old 95 cav, fastest ive gone in a car was around 150-160 MPH in a porsche.

I hit 188 kph in my Caprice.... than the digital speedo started blinking.... Hell of a thing when a 4000lbs+ car feels weightless going over a rise.... that is until it comes back down:p

we need a kph to mph converter at the bottom of the page. roughtly does any one know, what its is kph to 60mph, and to 100 and to 150 and to 200?

come one I pulled a 100 with a slipping clutch, you';ve got a porc he, go hit 150 for us.

I would if there weren't so damn many cops along that route.

Update: Finally managed to get up to 140 MPH on 57 while heading back to San Antonio. I would have gotten to 150 or more, but I saw traffic in the distance. So I slowed back down just in case a cop was one of them

Well to tell you the truth, ive only gotten mine up to 95mph. Its not that it cant go any faster, its just I dont want to be rough with the car, I just want it to last. The car is suppose to be capable of 155 but im not going to be doing that anytime soon. The cops are bad around where I live so doing it would be stupid anyways :nono:

I've been to 118 in my z24 a few times.

I've been 108 in my moms Windstar on I-45 between Houston and Dallas. It took so long to get that fast. And the engine was making the worst noise. I was scared so bad. The van was shaking and rattling. I will never go that fast in a van again. This was downhill BTW.

Went 140 in my GT going to Denver, and got my non-turbo Eclipse to 95 driving from work one night. BTW, GraemePC i got a ticket on I-45 a couple years back in my Stealth going from Houston-Dallas.....hate that stretch of highway.

i recently pulled 130mph on a crowded 5, after that the car seems to loose the hp/torque needed to turn the gears, its only a 2 liter honda.

Got clocked by a cop going 138 in a 60mph zone on the freeway in my Z car when I first got her.

........and didn't get a ticket!!
