160kmh, it's not fast on an highway (i don't know the Indonesian highways though ;) ). But in France, you can also drive untill 160 without problems with the radars.

This virus is quite dangerous :(

Ohh .. OK .. :) ..

oh yeah .. at the autobahn 160 kmh is nothing ... but the suspension of the taxi car almost gone .. even the taxi car engine run in high temp for normal MB ... more than 100 ... :D

The Indonesian highway is not good .. only has 2 lane .. u can reach 130 quite easy but above that quite difficult ... many trucks and buses .. some of them trying to overtake the other truck but not enough power .. so u can imagine it .. takes quite long time .. so many times I use the emergency lane to overtakes all of them ... I can reach 160 to 180 for 2 to 3 seconds than I have to brake ...:( .. I hate it .. .. but what can I do ... :D

You'll meet all the European members of this forum :D

I can imagine this kind of highways (Indonesian) because it's the same thing as in some eastern countries (it's changing though). I went in Roumania in 1995 and it's quite "funny" to drive there :D .... !

Oh god..............Even in New Zealand they didn't care if you were at 120 on a 100km/h road- they just gave you a fine- 150 got you arrested I think:confused:

ahhh .. in reality nobody drives 100 kmh on USA highway .. mostly they do like 70 mph and more ... I go to US regularly and I have cousin who lives in LA .. the husband always goes like 80 mph to 85 mph most of the time ... and sometimes 100 mph (160 kmh) with his S 420 or Lexus 470 ... but have to be careful ... always check surrounding .. hehhehehe .. :) ... above 100 mph u will go straight to jail if caught ... hahhahaa :D

how long are you in jail?
canīt you pay some money to keep your license and not go to jail?

I exagerate when I say 120kmh ! but in the USA, you really can't drive fast because there are cops everywhere and at 160 kmh on an american highway, you can get a big fine. In France or in Italy you can be upset for your wallet from 100 kmh, and no need to specify for Germany ;)
And that's the same on all the American roads which are often much bigger than European ones but where people are far more slower.

me and my cousin's husband never been catch by the police but I got the information from him if the police catch you while u r speeding above 100 mph (160kmh), u will go straight to jail, then the police will make a mark on your driving licence and for sure you have to pay the fine too ... :p .. so don't drive above 100 mph (160 kmh) on the american highway .. :p ...

:) ... I agree with you ... many patrol cars .. like I said .. u have to be careful ... but in LA highway u better match your speed with all other car surround u .. if all of them do 75 mph than u go with the same speed ... if you go less or faster the police might catch u .. and most of the time americans drive about 75 mph to 80 mph (120 kmh to 128 kmh) .. on some american highway there is a car pool lane .. so the car with more then 1 people inside can use this lane .. less crowded lane means faster ... :p .. good for about 85 mph .. :D .. I have information that at night there are some places (highway) you can drive fast with less risk ... ;)

Stefanel1
04-11-2003, 01:56 PM
85mph : it's the speed limit in France :D and it's too slow, in Italy they adjusted it to 95mph (150 kmh). But under 160 kmh (100 mph), it's ok in France eitehr there are other cars on the highway or you're alone ;)

I got busted at 193 km/h once- lost my lisence for 6 months :( The highways in NZ are mostly 1 lane- with 2 lane passing lanes here and there-the motorways of Auckland and Wellington can get as much as 4 lanes  (Still not much compared to some of the highways/motorways in Italy ;))

Anyway the NZ highway is excellent if you like roads with not many cars (Except in the holiday season- where it becomes overcrowded) and NZ drivers suck

My Subaru will top out at 70mph - but would you really want to go any faster in something that small?
Are any of you taking into account speedometer error? The faster you go the greater the difference between your actual speed and the speed your speedometer gives you.
Here in the U.S. we have this great little place called "Montana" I'm not sure what they're doing now but for a long time most of their highways had no speedlimits - it'd be the perfect place to blow out the cobwebs if it weren't for those pesky cross-winds.

hello 2 stroke .. is your subaru the one at your avatar (left side)? .. :) .. the model is very cute? .. what year is that?:) .. r u sure only 70 mph for the top speed? .. how big is the engine? .. :)

about the speedometer error almost always happen in any car .. including the good european car like MB or BMW .. usually the speedo star show error at about 60 kmh .. From the car magazine I knew only Lexus has the very minimal error .. when the speedo show 160 kmh and in reality about 159 kmh ... :) ..

Montana? .. where is that? .. :)

my first car was a 87 camaro v8 sc (had it 6 months then got rear ended by a bronco !!!) , I took it to top speed which is somewhere in the low 130's I believe , wind was coming in through the window seals , im lucky I didnt get pulled !!!! Never taken my newer car above 85 however as I have grown wiser (and im terrified they'll take my car !!! I love my car). Top speed for an 84 z28 with the Automatic is 145 :) , who knows , one day I might give it a shot :)

oh yeah I almost forgot hehe , 1 week after I got my liscense I was driving my moms 1991 or so Ford Taurus (my mom had one , my dad had 2 , needless to say I hate them!!!) well It was late at night and I was curious what moms POS taurus could go..... Got to 88 least thats what the Highway Patrolman told me :zx11pisse .....
fortunately he gave me a warning . Never been caught speeding again :)

The Subaru is a 1969 360 (the one in my avatar is also a 360 but an earlier year) it has a 356cc 25hp engine and 70mph is the top speed (unless you're going downhill)

Montana is almost in Canada, it's at the northern edge of the U.S.

Jakarta has 4 lanes and 3 lanes highway but so crowded and many times jam ... and when u back to the normal road u have to always deal with crazy buses, trucks, and cars that like to cut your lane anytime ... hahahahahah ... and in jakarta u can grow old on the road becoz of traffic jam almost most of times ... hehehhehehe .. :p ... classic problem for the big city I think ... :) ... jimster .. last christmas and last new year u should go to Bali .. the Hotels give about 50% to 80% Discount even the 5 stars ... Thanks Hamann , I know I love the color , I think it one of the best looking blues I ever have seen , when I repaint the car I think Im going to use the same color :) , I think its a mixture of chrysler royal blue and a little metal flake , that what I think the original owner told me , he painted the car him self :) , i need a repaint though , its going on 6 or 7 years old and is starting to flake in places it got chipped (under the bra is bad , why it was on there , the bra didnt do it but when it got bad I had to cover it). As for the car , I love it I cant think of anything in the price range I'd ever trade it for :)

hehe no dirt roads , a girl I knew wanted me to take her back into Nags Head Woods here in NC , its not really a good road for any sports car but my car cleared the little hills fine , at low speed. Didn't know the dirt was so loose every time I'd slow down it would start to get stuck so I kept going about 30 through the woods , was a fun rough drive if anything, but when I got out the car and saw what happened to the nose I almost had a heart attack.
I thought about maybe adding some pearl to it so it would be glossier I keep it waxed pretty good but I'd like it wetter. All depends on how much money I have when I paint her. I havent finished with the motor yet , when I have it at a horsepower level I feel I'm happy with I'll go ahead and have the car painted and I'll start to seriously show it. I show it now but its nowhere near mint enough to win a serious car show :)

hehe I've only got the basics done so far , see exhaust and filter. Going to add a msd coil soon , then gonna mess with some slightly more powerful secondary metering rods , i've heard ck's are good for these .then probably an intake (probably an edelbrock performer EGR), 1.6 rockers , edelbrock tubular exhaust system (headers!!!), . Then either gonna get some s/r torquer 305 heads or just have some 1.94 intake valves put in my stock heads along with a good 3 angle valve job. Of course a complete longblock swap isnt out of the question , I have an ole 68 vette 350 horse 327 that has nothing to go in yet , been thinking of trying a modified version of the 350 HO swap GM makes for this car :). A car like mine with the 350 HO conversion ran the 1/4 in the 13.8 second range :)

if u change ur coil better to go with the wire too ... :) .. Edelbrook is a famous brand too .. must be good .. how about porting your cilinder head .. raise the compression .. is it cheaper compare to swap the whole block? ... :) ..

My brother have a 427 CI Ford Mustang Engine ... and he bought a 67 mustang .. in the end the engine couldn't be installed bcoz too big .. I told him but he never listened .. hahhahaha .. so he sold the body but still keep the engine .. so crazy ... hahhaha .. :)

menuuu .. I envy u .... :D ... please can u describe it how u felt while doing 310 kmh ;) .. how about the stability of the car ... :)

I have to delay my plan till next year to buy the sport car because this year I have to buy brand new 2 cars and the business condition is not good right now ... :( ... 3 brand new cars will be too much ... hehehhehe ..
Right now my choices priority are a 355 f1 in good condition and if I can't find it then I will go to new 996 C4S or maybe new 996 turbo and new the Maserati 4200 Cambiocorsa will be my last option .. :D :)

It's not really which is cheaper , its which is more troblesome :) , my car is also basically my daily driver , a motor swap would take it offline for sometime while the bit by bit would be easier for me

well going 310 is a great feeling. the streets have to be empty. you always have cars that donīt look back and just change lanes... but it was ok.
well driving 310 is very hard to describe. you have to feel it. the car was lying quite good on the street. good downforce (if i compare to my z3 who begins to get airy at the rear axle at about 220.)
the steering is maybe a bit to easy at high speeds.
the sound of the watercooled engine is awesome. the 993 turbo is my favourite turbo. it has much more style than the 996 ;)

I once drove topspeed in a '95 Fiat Punto with no less of 60 bhp!
onehundred-and-sixty km/h
=ninety-nine-point-four mph.

how do you like that?!:finger:

hi,

do you mean oil and water temp or the outside temp? well outside temp... was sunny. air temp about hm 17 and street maybe 22 or so.

well 310 i only reeched short cause i had to brake down to about 120.
a ******* blue ford fiesta changed the lanes....
the porsche runs about 325 kmh. itīs not stock itīs a bit modified by RUF.
most of the time i ran between 200-300 for about half an our... well hat was soooooooooo much fun you cannot imagine.
btw. i cannot wait for our z4 :) weīll buy one maybe in autumn.
ac-schnitzer offers nice tuning stuff for the z4. but iīll probably only get racing rims type 3. or the bbs CH. iīm not sure. the bbs challenge would only cost me about 1800$ but the ac schnitzer more than 6000$. and i donīt know why i should pay so much more for the wheels hmmm.

yep :) , I can build this lil 305 HO to around 300hp for less than $1000 without taking the block out :). Can go higher if I switch to fuel injection which is easy because 85-86 tp. The engine swap becomes less a good idea to me the longer I think about it. Sure the hp I could build on a 350+ block are endless but I have to worry about street legallity and tuning . You wouldnt believe how many performance parts thier are for this ole 84 carbed 305 HO. It all comes down to what do I want to spend and how much work do I want to put into it. Also I have to ask myself , "Do I need a 400+HP daily driver?" . Also after thinking about it , I can afford to do an engine swap on this thing the street legal and right way. If it cant pass inspection what am I gonna do with it ? I think I'm going to save that 327 HO (350hp) motor I have for when I finally get that 69 camaro I'm always dreaming about :)!!!

uppps ... sorry menu for incomplete question ... I meant engine temperature .. :) .. u r a lucky man .. :D ...

Hey ... once u install that rims please load some pics here ok ... :D ... how come the price so big different? ... yesterday I came to see the new showroom ... it was so amazing .. they have 1 green murcielago, 1 of 360 red modena, 1 of 360 silver cabrio, 1 of yellow 355, 2 porsche turbo, 1 boxster, 1 black maserati 4200 gt, 1 black aston martin DB 7, some RR and Bentley, 2 jaguar XKR, some new 500 SL, and some other expensive cars ... I was checking at the 355 ... the car use for only 178 km on the odometer but the centre plastic dashboard console was wash out ... make me fell down .. but my eye kept starred at the so gorgeous Murcielago ... so wide, low, and macho ... the problem is the will sell it for USD 560000 ... ... so I have to tried very hard not to look at it but I fail ... hahhahahahahhaha ... :) :D
