Le Mans Competition Pictures and RESULTS!!!

Well the time is finally upon us - here are the completed entries for the Le Mans comp!

As outlined in the Rules Thread voting is now open in the People's Choice category. Voting is open to any member of AF who registered prior to 1 Jun 2005 (when the rules where first announced). To vote simply PM me, RallyRaider, with your choices. Just like the AFMOTY you can select three models, ranked as three points, two points and one point. To avoid confusion please use the below format:

3 points – username, model
2 points – username, model
1 points – username, model

If there is any uncertainty I’ll attempt to clear it up with a return PM, if time allows. Voting for the People’s Choice will be open for one week, closing at 4pm (Le Mans time) on the 26th of June 2005. The model with the most points will be declared the winner. In the event of a tie a count back will occur with the highest number of three point scores (then two point scores if necessary) being declared the winner. One other thing to note is that p9o1r1sche is so prolific that he has two cars entered! So be sure to nominate which of his cars you are assigning how many points, the Porsche or Daytona.

Running concurrently the judges will be deciding the winner of the curbside and full detail categories, results of which will be announced around the 27th of June. People's Choice winner should be announced at the same time. While there are two judged categories, the People’s Choice Award is open to both full detail and curbside.

Since I didn't get PMs from many entrants with a pic for this thread, I've just gone ahead and selected/resized/uploaded a representative image. Took bloody forever too!

Thanks for your votes guys. Well the 2005 Le Mans 24 hour race is over. Won outright by the Champion Racing Audi of Lehto, Kristensen and Werner. Kristensen wins for a record seventh time!

Argh... just driven 200 miles back from Le Mans and checked the first thing I did when I got in was check this thread. How am I supposed to judge this? They're all too good.

Gonna have to sleep on it and come up with some marks over the next few days. Congratulations to all the entrants, you've made the judges lives hell (in a good way).

Pictures still working? They may not be for much longer, having a bit of a server issue. I might need to find a new host soon.

Latest update reveals that with 38 votes cast we now have a breakaway leader. The curbside entries are at a bit of a disadvantage over the full engine models. But that will be rectified in the judged part of the competition.

Yes this was a bit of a concern for me but i got one vote! so im happy. may next contest it would be better if judges picked overall best. and peoples chioce would have 2 categories or something along that line.

Finally all is said and done, the results are in!

The winner of People's Choice is robrex with his awesome Jaguar XJR-9LM. Congratulations Rob!

Moving on to the judged categories: The curbside winner is Sennake with his smooth as glass Ferrari 512 S! While robrex and his Jag also took the honours in Full Detail. So congratulations to Guy and Rob!

Indeed everybody who entered deserves congratulations, as all the models were fantastic. Also a big thank you to the sponsors and not forgetting everybody who took the time to vote.

If the winners could please PM myself and PRIVATEER, we can organise the prizes. Thanks once again to everybody - time to start thinking about the next comp!
