Le Mans Model Competition Rules and Schedule
The time is almost upon us, still a few weeks to finish off those entries.
2005 AF LE MANS CONTEST RULES 1. ENTRY Entries for the contest will close as the 2005 Le Mans 24 hour race starts. That is 4pm Le Mans time on the 18th of June 2005. Obviously your local time will differ depending on your time zone. By the time the winner takes the flag the picture thread will be posted and voting will commence. To officially enter the contest each contestant must submit a 640 x 480 pixel photo for the contest thread as well as any desired links to progress/finished threads even personal websites. Both must be PMed to me, RallyRaider, by the above deadline. Ideally the picture will be hosted by the contestant on a reliable server but if you have difficulty, contact me and we can sort something out. Remember this is a Le Mans comp so only models of cars that competed in (or practiced for) the 24 hour race are eligible. Multiple entries are welcome. We're also looking for newly constructed model, built since the contest announcement last year. 2. CATEGORIES There will be three categories: 1. Full detailed – this is for cars with engines and other opened up parts. 2. Curbside – for closed cars as they would appear on the road. 3. Peoples Choice – a combination of the above two categories. Categories one and two will be judged by the panel of judges. The panel consists of Privateer, Lotus Man, Fly On The Wall, Primera Man and RallyRaider, in addition the sponsors will be asked to join the panel if they have the time. Judges will not be eligible for these categories. Category three will be open for votes by AF members. Judges will be allowed to enter the Peoples Choice Category, but if they win the prizes will default to the next place getter. Positioning of models in the categories will mostly be self explanatory, but the judges will make the final decision in any case of uncertainty. 3. VOTING Voting in the People’s Choice award will be open to any member of AF who registered prior to the posting of this announcement. To vote simply PM me, RallyRaider, with your choices. Just like the AFMOTY you can select three models, ranked as three points, two points and one point. To avoid confusion please use the below format: 3 points – username 2 points – username 1 points – username If there is any uncertainty I’ll attempt to clear it up with a return PM, if time allows. Voting for the People’s Choice will be open for one week following the end of the 2005 Le Mans 24 hour race, officially closing at 4pm (Le Mans time) on the 26th of June 2005. The model with the most points will be declared the winner. In the event of a tie a countback will occur with the highest number of three point scores (then two point scores if necessary) being declared the winner. 4. ANNOUNCING WINNERS Voting for people’s Choice and panel judging will occur concurrently and both should be announced within 24 hours of the close of voting. Winners will then be asked to forward their details to the sponsors so prizes can be sent out. 5. PRIZES Prizes for the Full detailed and Curbside categories will be a selection of Scale Race Cars photo etch sets and Speedline/Raceworks decals. Prize for People’s choice will be a MSM Creation Ferrari F-40 LM "Pilot" trans-kit. Good luck to all contestants! |
