Cool LeMans movie cars - Porsche 917LH completed

Well, finally got this one done. Had trouble with the Tamiya acrylic clearcoat. It wouldnt dry, so I put it in the dehydrator. Clearcoat yellowed noticeably. Doesnt show up so much in the pics. This is a Fisher resin kit with a lot of Fujimi 917K pieces and scratchbuilt details. Not a bad kit, but like all Fisher kits, added detail helps alot. Decals were about 10% too big and are crowded into place. I still like this car model.

Great looking car, it certainly doesn't show you had any problems with it.

An excellent job overall

Great stuff
Good to see Vic has his head back on his sholders You want to enter this in the comp? Can always build something else for it too.
I've got the LMM Hippy version of this car, one of several possibilities I'm considering for the Le Mans comp.

Nice job!
The weathering on the front and rear looks very convincing.

What weathering?...Oh I thought he just missed a few spots...;-)>

Seriously. A nice build. This is going to be one heckuva contest/meet!

Oh, and I thought acrylic was NOT supposed to yellow. Any ideas what happened there? The general rule is if its clear in the bottle, its clear on the body. If it's yellow in the bottle (Testor's Boyd's clear!) it'll yellow on the body.

bvia - Oh, and I thought acrylic was NOT supposed to yellow.

Yea, that's what I thought and why I used it, but it definitely yellows. Its noticeable if its put on thick.

Everything's so nice here: the car, the build, the weathering, the pics ()... Impressive, completely!

Just a shame it's so hard to see the driver...

Perfect as usual, so real and so close to the 'Le Mans' impression ... just missing the amazing noise of this car.

Tanx for sharing.

Is it possible to picture it near of the 908 i'd really appreciate to have them both on the same picture ?

Vince.
