Whumbachumba

No, the problem with France, besides that it is full of French people, is that it's hard to decide what time period their cars are.

ThatRoundHeadedKid
08-22-2005, 12:50 AM
1950s.

ThatRoundHeadedKid
08-23-2005, 12:34 AM
Ok, it is pre-1955 but post-1945

I need some sort of directory, not only sorted by country and make, but by model, and time period, with pictures.

That would own this thread

ThatRoundHeadedKid

OK, this is what you have, it is between 1945-1955, French. I'll even make it 1950-1955, the car pictured is between those years. It featured a electromagnetic Cotal transmission and was powered by a 3.5 liter 6 cylinder.

I've got one :) Got it for 3 pounds sterling on eBay :) No you can't have it. :p

Possible huge hint for someone - I've been thinking it's a Talbot-Lago/Lago, but I'm on dial-up for the rest of the month and I can't be bothered searching around for pictures of the different models. Someone else may want to though :)

ThatRoundHeadedKid

Mines really that hard eh? the model number uses numbers 2-5 combined to make a three digit number.

Well, it only shows cars officially sold in the UK, in regular production levels, during 1945-1970, which represents only a minority of the cars I've correctly identified so far ;)

I still can't be bothered dealing with this dial-up to look around for cars :p

Is it a Delahaye Type 235?

ThatRoundHeadedKid
08-24-2005, 04:31 AM
FINALLY!!!!!! THANK YOU MARK. to be specific, its a 1935 Delahaye 235 Figoni Coupe.

looks like a Rover or something.....

Heep
08-26-2005, 03:11 AM
Correct country, but a totally different vehicle, as far as I know not using any Rover parts.

It is a 2 door, 2 seat roadster.

ThatRoundHeadedKid
08-26-2005, 03:36 AM
Would it be a Morgan?

Heep
08-26-2005, 03:56 AM
Nope. The car was actually a joint project between an established (and still existing) British manufacturer, and a lesser known (and, as far as I know, not still around) small American car company.

ThatRoundHeadedKid
08-27-2005, 07:59 PM
what ever it is, it's a really bad picture lol.

ec437
08-31-2005, 01:54 AM
Definitely a 1970ish mercury cyclone.

I'm right, aren't I?

ThatRoundHeadedKid
08-31-2005, 05:28 AM
Good, but nope. This is a rather large vehicle we're talking.

Whumbachumba
08-31-2005, 10:13 AM
Large as in would be considered a boat by today's terms?

ec437
08-31-2005, 01:07 PM
Mercury cyclone would be a boat.

How am I wrong??? Look at this!

:grinno:

ThatRoundHeadedKid
08-31-2005, 01:27 PM
The vehicle I'm talking about has 4 doors if not more, and is not made by mercury but is part of that arm. Secondly, the nose is more subtle.

GritMaster
08-31-2005, 03:08 PM
It's a Cougar isn't it?

ThatRoundHeadedKid
08-31-2005, 03:09 PM
Cougar has 2, not 4 :)

GritMaster
08-31-2005, 03:17 PM
I know... it just looks an awful lot like one.

was hoping you got your doors mixed up :P

[edit] New guess

Montego? :P

ThatRoundHeadedKid
08-31-2005, 03:25 PM
