It's a four door hardtop, late 80's, created in a very similar vein to the Emmeraude.

I'm going to laugh when it is something as simpe as a Nissan Silvia S13 or Nissan 180sx.

slightly off topic but seeing as you asked....
they do well because in their home country of malaysia, taxes on car imports are stupidly high and even the most basic foriegn car is going to cost you and arm and a leg and maybe four fingers, so in most cases, it doesn't make sense for the average family to splash out on anything other than a home market car.
at least that's what my malaysian friends tell me.

It's based on a Mazda Capella (aka 626), you're getting very warm now. Introduced in 1988, four door hardtop. Shares its name with a now-defunct Proton.

Its now a Global company, and it just so happens that its CEO lives and is based in America.
Mazda is largely controlled by the European arm of Ford, and all of the platform, chassis and design sharing that goes on between Ford and Mazda occurs almost entirly between the the Japanese/World Mazda's and the European Fords.
Mazda is also 100% owned by Ford, has been for sometime.
Its now nothing more than another brand name.

Far as I'm concerned, if the head office for Ford is in Michigan, then it's as good as controlled by Americans.


Any other branches (Ford Europe, Ford Australia, Mazda, Lincoln, PAG) are just subsidaries of the Ford Motor Company as far as I am aware, though I'm not 100% sure on that.

Ford is a U.S. based multi-national entity with several global subsidiaries and international interests. Though different subsidiaries are entirely non-American, Ford as a parent company is American.
