Damnit 6, with the way your talking right now, you are going to turn into one of the things we hate most, a cocky, arrogant, dumbass law enforcer with a huge stick stuck up your ass. And if you do turn into one of those cops, we will all give you a nice ass whoopin'.

No, but they will train a person to do it even better than before. It's like the army, they didn't start out life knowing 849312741738294 ways to kill someone.
And Poor, I'm kidding about the hat. It is definately bad ass, but it's not that great. I'm very excited however. Should I resign or be terminated within the first 4 years, I owe the state of Indiana $50k. I still haven't even decided if I am taking the offer or not...

$50K!? That's INSANE. Well, I hope you figure everything out. Deciding a career path is not an easy decision for some. Especially the line of work that you are considering. Just don't become a prick and start shoveling donuts. Oh, and if you do become a trooper. You'll have to stop by sometime because I have always wanted to be tasered. I just don't know any cops who would do that for me, but I know you will. And I don't want to have to break the law to be tasered, because that's pain, jail time, and a record.
666_speed
12-20-2006, 05:33 PM
I know for a fact I want to be a state trooper, that's just a long time in Indiana. I will very likely take this opportunity.
I most certainly will taser you. We'll get a paper notorized or something stating that I can taser you and am not liable to any criminal charges, damages to your health, or have any liability in this.

Just wanted to know what it felt like. I don't think it was very strong though. I want to be tasered by one of the police issued ones. The one with the prongs that shoot out then hit you will 50K volts, it will be awesome. What a rush, and a good story. I'll try to get it on video if it ever happens. Hey, my new phone has video, so that could work, and I do have the USB cable to put it on my computer.

Well here the police have tasers and when they shoot a piece of paper with a number comes out like confetti. They have to use that number in the report every time they use it. Every time they pull there gun on someone its a damn
1-2 page report. 6 you will be spending more time doing reports than out policing people.
good luck with it, hope you get one of the new dodge chargers to sport around in.

I know exactly what policing consists of. It's not all fun, it's very boring for the most part. The report writing is what I will be good at. Ford has a contract through '12 (don't quote me, but I'm almost certain that's when it ends) to keep making the Crown Vic's for the police departments. ISP uses the Crown Vic's too.

I thought most departments just bought the V6 models, not the upgraded V8's.
As for the t-tops leaking even more, maybe the SFC's straightened everything out and spread out the gaps where things were maybe crunched in. Don't know, just a guess.

Dodge dealer techs are kept mighty busy. They are quick these new magnum and Charger models but I would take a dependable o'le 4.6 Crown Vic or 5.7 Caprice over a charger for day in and out driving for work.

My crown vic just rolled over 180K and still runs perfect. Its silent you cant even hear it run. It rides smoother and more quiet than Any GM ive ever stepped foot in with that kind of miles on it. Where they messed up the CV is steering/suspension. As soon as you hear the very first squeak, VERY soon after, its going to need control arm bushings and ball joints. The front ends wear completely out in under 50K miles usually. And they smoke oil.
Ford interior=crap. Ford steering=broken. Ford>Dodge. Dodge transmission=suck. Dodge steering=junk. Dodge interior=el cheapo. Dodge=me unimpressed.
Ive been seeing dodge intrepids and i think malibus in police use. Will the police chargers all be v-8?

Maybe when they put them in the car was in a bind and now its messed up. You already said they welded the sfc to the lca. So who knows what they did, you need to have them fix it or take it to someone that knows what the heck they are doing. The car has to be completely flat when they do it.

Check your gaps. Park the car on a flat surface, look at where they join the car from the outside, make sure everything is lined up right. Check it from the inside, look for the same thing. Also check where the windows roll up. Sounds to me either your car got tweaked when the sfc's were installed or your gaskets are bad. If the car got tweaked during the install, good luck getting it perfect. The sfc's will have to come out and the car will need to go on a frame machine to get lined back up. Does it still drive straight, or did the driving characteristics change after the install?

The seals might be the problem. When the body was corrected, it changed where the t-top hit the seal and if the seals have sagged a little and got used to the t-top hitting them a certain way, it could cause that.

You said it was leaking before a little, maybe the seals are used to the t-top hitting the seal a certain way, and now that the body has been moved a little, the top isnt hitting the old groove in the seal like it used to.
As for being a trooper, i say go for it, but man...be careful. A lot of fools exist in the world that dont like cops. Just use your head and dont take any chances. The most routine of stops can turn on you like a pit bull from hell. I would carry a sawoff by my side and wear kevlar. Its too easy for assholes to get their hands on illegal weapons these days.
