so, me and Jason (the guy i work with) have been running the tyre shop alone this week, and we've made a $7,275 turnover this week (with 3 quiet days) plus some money in cash. today alone we turned over more than $3,200.

we'll be running it alone next week too, as the boss doesn't get back until the 3rd. we're doing damn well, and the boss is well pleased!

i only have my nice $400 pile of cash.. :grinno:

i think i should buy myself some nice tyre levers, and sell them to my boss' business partner for twice the price.

we have a nice tyre lever and a shitty one. usually you only need one, but sometimes for low profiles and run-flats you need two people, and two levers.

usually, you only need the lever to take the tyre off.

Yeah, well, I need some food. I haven't eaten anything in 12 hours. I ate breakfast, worked, got home, worked out, and have been sitting on my ass since. I did consume some creatine though.

Ya know, back in the day I started out here in the F-body section when I joined. The guys way back then were really super nice. They didn't bash on me or anything when I was new. They accepted me and treated me as I was the same as any of them. It was a good feeling...

Of course that was pre fast and furious days... After that, it just seemed to bring out the ricer in most... :disappoin

I try not to judge any members right away, cause you never know what kind of knowledge a new member may bring with them. But sometimes we do have to weed out the bad ones...

As for portland5... Wow... I just don't know what to say about him... But I'm not gonna jump into any major conclusions yet. I wanna see how he explains to me the purpose of his most recent thread... :uhoh:

Yes, cans is another term for headphones, although it used mostly by audio nuts like myself.

I was thinking headphones as the nice sennheiser over hear home ones, not the ear bud ones. :banghead:

Shit...

I think I killed my Firebird on the way home from work this morning... I stopped at an intersection and I lost all oil pressure, but it was too late. It went BANG! and started smoking a lot... Despite this, I gave it the most hardcore drive ever from that intersection to my house since I was only like 2 minutes away...

Yeah, something blew out under the hood and I had oil all over the drivers side of the motor and surrounding accessories and in the front of the motor... The entire exhaust is covered in oil and the backside of the car has a good bit on it...

It was truly an amazing final run and it was completely gutless the whole way. lol

So, it looks like I am gonna be in need of a new car a lot sooner than I was expecting... I was hoping on getting my Talon finished before this would happen, but its still got at least 2 or 3 more weeks to go... (If this one company would ever send me the damn wiring harness I need for it)

So... I wonder what I should look at getting... If I get another car thats only getting 15.8mpg then it better be a Z28 or a Trans Am. lol

Ah what a wonderful day... lol

Damn, that sucks. Hell of a coincidence though, my 89 bird almost suffered the same fate last monday morning. I stopped at an intersection, heard a rapid tic-tic-tic, looked at my oil pressure gauge, and it was at zero. SHIT! I pull into the gas station on the corner, check the oil and it was empty. I went in, bought some, and filled it up, and it was fine after that. Odd thing was i had checked the oil 2 days before and it was full, and it never lost any this week after the incident.

i like putting tyres on with levers. it's a hell of a lot harder than using the machine, but it's challenging and satisfying when it's done.

i was doing a tyre earlier, and the tyre wasn't going on right, partly because of the tyre soap (we use it to help get the tyre on the wheel) so the wheel was turning but the tyre was stationary. for this, you take a lever (or in this particular case, two.) and get the end in udrer the toe of the wheel, hold it levering down, and rotate the turntable. once that was mostly on, the guide popped off, and to prevent risking damaging the tyre, i finished it with just a lever. carefully levering it bit by bit until it went "pop" and slipped on.

i was happy. i turned to the guy watching me and went "just like that.."

i love my job.

No, its not that extreme...

I checked it all out here after I woke up and it seems to have blown out some gasket or something maybe? At first I thought maybe it was a head gasket or something, but I can't find any signs of oil and coolant mixing anywhere. Even if that was the case, it still doesn't explain the bang I heard... I put oil in it and checked to see if it was running out anywhere extreme and saw nothing... So I started it and I didn't have oil pressure at first but then it shot right up where it was supposed to be... Checked for leaks again and nothin... It has a slight ticking to it now, but nothing like if it would be a thrown rod... It seemed to rev and idle alright... I'm afraid to drive it anywhere now... Its just time to retire it now... :disappoin

when i was closing up shop at work a kid came up to me and asked if i could fit a head gasket on a Rover Coupé Turbo.

i think he'd taken his parents' car for a spin when they were away and blew the head gasket, or something like that. there's no way he'd get insured in it, i doubt he was even my age.

I have a bunch of pics of the C6 Z06, but I'm too lazy to upload any.
So, I bought 300 yesterday and my friend had a bunch of people over and we had a 'movie' night. It was fun as hell. I got so hyped after the movie, I started beating people with pillows, I put a girl in a full boston crab, and I stabbed a kid with a needle-nose. It was a good night. And the best part, this chick that I flirt with at work showed up all dressed up and shit. She looked sooo good. I didn't say much to her because everyone was around and she has a b/f. But I just hit on her for fun, but she likes it. :naughty:
And then, after the movie and some goofing around, we watch Eurotrip. We didn't leave his house till 4 in the morning. Never had so much fun staying in. But it was a good break from all the volleyball and basketball that we play almost every night.

Fastener Application -Intake Manifold Bolts/Studs
Torque Value - 71 lb. in. first pass, 35 lb. ft. 2nd pass
Wrench Size - 9/16"
Thread/Pitch/Length(if appl.) - 3/8"-16 x 1.38"

Install intake manifold. Use of locating studs or dowels on one side will allow you to set the manifold on without wallowing it around and ruining the RTV seal in the middle. (9/16 bolts/studs with thread sealant on them- torque to 71 lb. in. first pass and 35 lb. ft. second pass. Follow the proper sequence for tightening)
It is generally recommended that you let the intake sit 24 hrs for the RTV to cure before you fire it up.
