Going to get windy here, talking sustained 25mph winds with gusts to 50, higher elevations possibly 70mph gusts. Most of the ski areas open in new england are not opening friday or saturday, depending on where they are located and when the wind subsides....

Well, we (my dad and I) survived the drive home tonight in the terrible weather. It has sleeted ALL DAY and has accumulated packed ice on the roads. 8 solid hours of sleet in 32* weather is BAD. So, I'm definately not going to school tomorrow and I won't be going to work if I get called in, but I'm not scheduled.

yeah sleeted all day, then it snowed a bit, which is amazing for texas. took some pics of it too, nothing much.

ya i know, i am right next to you in Columbia and school is cancled here. There is SO much ice right now, and it will snow at leaste 3 inches tonight on top of it. wow that is going to suck. I was in my mom tahoe in 4wd hi and doing like 30 and i was still sliding alittle.

Yeah, I know, the local news stations are calling a possible 8 INCHES of snow by morning! :eek: I don't think I have seen 8 inches of snow TOTAL over my life. I hate winter. I'm not going anywhere tomorrow. My ass is staying home. 3 day weekend!

This actually isn't snow right now, its compacted sleet. AKA - ICE! Ice is very very bad.

Yeah this is about my 2nd time touching snow.. it was nice and fluffy.. but there wasnt enough snow to cover the ground completely.

We get the sleet/ snow mix tonight and tomorrow... up to 8 inches of snow for my part of michigan and its been raining here for a few days... its gonna be ... nice...

it was pretty fun all day though, although I hated when I had to drive over bridges because there was nothing but sand over them.

I want enough snow to get me out of work!

I broke my thumb earlier wrestling with some friends. This one guy weighs a good 100 lbs more than me. The first time he was kicking my ass the whole time until the last 30 seconds when his hand slipped and I got a good hold on him. Later we decided to rematch and he slammed me on the ground haha. We ended up calling it a draw the second time.

It's amazing how hard it is to do stuff when you thumb hurts. Typing, writing, wiping your ass....

We got 6 inches of snow here today in OKC . that = a bunch of bastards out playing bumper cars. I sit at a light and watched a guy in oncoming traffic slide through the light, get sideways, hop a curb and blew out his front tire. I would have helped or whatever but it was just so damn cold outside.

Its easy to hitch hike tho, since its already sticking out being favored. Since its broke you know your going to bump the bastard into everything possible.

Shit, so I just got done shoveling my driveway. Took me 2 hours. I first got all the snow off the driveway, that was on top of the ice. Then, I had to go around and break up all the ice, then I had to shovel the rest off the ice off. I had a good 2 inches of solid ice underneath 3 inches of snow. Yeah, fun times. My arms are killing me.

Plus, my friend called me this morning and asked if I could work for him because his car is stuck in his driveway. I told him that I wasn't going anywhere today. So, 30 minutes later, my manger calls my house and my mom told him that I was asleep and she wasn't going to let me go anywhere unless the streets in my neighborhood are plowed. Its awesome, my mom told my manager off. Haha.

Ahh, yes, replace ice with frozen urine. Great idea. But, I am not 21 and I have no beer in the house. Plus, both my parents are home and wouldn't be to happy with that scenario.

I'm not 21 either. Why would you rfolks, not be happy? When I send my 2 out to remove snow, I don't care how they get it as long as it gets done. I think seeing sleet/ice once a year is good enough for me because doesnt mean I got to do things such as put the camaro in storage.. shovel snow out of driveway/other places..

And people with the 4-wheel drive vehicles speed by you just because they have superior traction. I got news for ya buddy, you don't slow down any faster. I do too. But everywhere that I want to move is so damn expensive. I think the Midwest has some of the cheapest 'cost of living' ranges in the US. The coasts are usually the most expensive.
