The guy who was going to weld in the sfc's no long wants to do it. I cannot find anyone else to weld them on. I've called all the local places and they say that they do not want to do that. :/

Well, I called a shop around here awhile ago for welded SFC's and I got quoted for $250, including painting after the welds. I still think that's expensive though. I also got quoted from the same place for a header install for $500.

I don't care if they're painted. I just want them bolted in and welded on.

You could always bolt them in yourself and have them welded after, should make for an easier job as long as you do the prep right.

Ehhh...I'm not going to sign up just to watch a video.
As far as the SFC's, I asked the shop about the bolt-on ones too and they said that the bolt-on ones are more trouble than their worth, as far as the install goes. Something with too much parts removal. And, remember, if you bolt them up yourself, check the surface alignment of where the SFC's will be welded. And make sure to clean and grind off any paint off where the connectors will be welded.

And the camaro on ice does sound somewhat fun, but getting it to a closed-off open area would suck. That means driving on the roads with people. I already put mine up for the bitter winter. The weather here has been somewhat interesting. The last 5 days have been mid 60's and a few 70's, but tomorrow will be mid 60's with the evening cutting off the nice weather and the next day only reaching mid 30's. How crazy is that? With a change like that, underground pipes are going to crack like crazy.

Back to the weather, it's 63 degrees here, and the salt turcks are out, it's supposed to snow tommorrow.
So before the first flake falls, the ground that has been at 60 degrees air temp for 6 straight days, needs to be covered, the usual formula is 4 parts salt to 1 part snow :disappoin But wait, this is the first "major" snowfall, so of course it's a cataclysmic event of biblical proportion, increse the ratio to 6:1. :yikes:
I don't know what is the worst sound, a mouse chewing at something in your house or dirivng down the street hearing the salt chewing away at your floor boards, amongst other things. :frown:

here (Chicago) it's mixed bag so far, rain through tonight and as the temp drops it all depends, also depends on what the back wash of the storm does as pushes off to the east and the winds come off the lakes, which is the big factor when the cold winds will be blowing over water at a surface temp of 55 something degrees and a air temp in the upper 20's.
But oh yes, I love the first snowfall when people are sitcking their heads out of their car windows like the apocolypse has begun and drive 5 mph holding a rosary.

There is a plate on the hatch that has 3 fingers on it, they make contact with another plate on the body of the car. See if you have power to that plate, pretty common part to fail on 3rd gens.

dude i know the feeling all too well. this weekend is not gonna be fun, especially since i got work outside on sat, its gonna be in the 30's.
rally, check to make sure the hatch is closing all the way too. my pull down motor was temprimental and if it latched but not closed, the brake light would not come on. the spring loaded piece it gounds too has 3 contacts on it and is near the latch for the hatch.
