Yay for more tools!!! :grinyes:

What brand?

Draper, Elora, Sealey, Irazola, Norbar, Stahwille etc..

all european brands you guys have probably never heard of.

what do you call cresent wrenches over there?

http://okwu.gospelcom.net/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=37&g2_serialNumber=2

one of those? we call it an adjustable spanner.

and who's your #1 power tool manufacturer?

Me personally, or over here in general?

in general, there are a few. Bosch, DeWalt, Makita, Hitachi.

if i'm buying power tools for myself i'll only really buy DeWalt or Bosch.

Oh on the crescent wrench, I've heard them referred to as a polish socket set. If it was possible I'd ban them from an automotive shop area.

yeah, that would be a good idea but I don't know if they could put that on just one thread... someone should as TS... as for now i guess we will just have to go with the little green lights in peoples posts

ok so someone tell me if this is a common sight.... anyone else ever have their starter motor blow up?

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v246/cuda_dude/DSC00689.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v246/cuda_dude/DSC00693.jpg
btw this was in my truck

I figured out why it blew up but still... didn't know that could happen... it looks like the motor was rubbing against the housing untill it just wore it down so much that it broke..

I had that happen before. Starter hung up on the flywheel after the car started, bearing in the end of the starter seized and threw the end chunk of the starter through the transmission. Certainly made it a bit easier to change the clutch a year or so later.

lol I'm such a fool...

**EDIT**
More specifically, this one...

I figure it would make a good starter bike...

skibum1111
08-07-2007, 08:13 PM
The sound of the starter going through the transmission sounded like someone shot the car, then I heard the small pieces of aluminum hitting the driveway. Funny part is I found all the pieces of the transmission but didn't find the piece of the starter until the next spring when I was raking the lawn.

Starters are so damn heavy. Especially when you have to hold it up with one hand while trying to thread the bolts straight with the other. Had to change both on the truck and car. Not difficult, but not fun.

And I want a crotch rocket too. But I'm pretty sure I would die on the second day of owning it. I do dumb stuff a lot.

But I need to get on a regular sleeping schedule before school. Or else I won't make it through my first day. Need to sleep right now...

get a 250, learn on it. once you've mastered that move on to a 400 or 600 before juming to the big guns.

having a top-end bike to start is not like having a top end car to learn on. start off riding a 1,000cc and you're close to signing your death warrant if you dick around.

Sounds like the difference between city and highway driving. I get about 15mpg city, don't know highway, because I never drive highway.

Oh, so get this, I would have my fuel rails/injectors, but the person forgot a number in my address, so it got returned to them an 'undeliverable', so I have to wait that much longer. Poop.

So how about tornado's are ripping through the town just north of me... One touched down like 1000 feet from the hospital where I am supposed to work later tonight and mangled up Giant Eagle and a brand new Get-Go... Caused a huge gas leak and they had to evacuate a half mile radius... I donno what they did about the hospital. I can't wait to go in at 10 to find out I can't work. lol

I guess another set of storms is gonna be hittin us here... Its kinda freaky that my dreams from last night are actually happening... Except there are no aliens yet. lol

poormillionaire2
08-09-2007, 04:40 PM
No storms here. Just sun and humidity. Have to go to a company softball practice later. Can't wait. Going to be hotter than shit though. I used to play baseball in high school and I miss playing. Plus, I'm the only guy who shows up with about 12 girls. So, the ratio is awesome. And I get to run the practices and stuff because the manager doesn't want to. So, I'm technically the player/coach of the team. I'm stoked. And lots of heat means less clothing...:)

friggin scary! @_@;
are you in engineering? if so, dynamics isn't that bad, it's pretty easy once you get it.

one lab and an exam left in my physics course before i'm DONE.

i love canadian summers, they aren't too hot for very long. we had one day that was around 43C (i think that's 107) and a few days after that were around 38-40C. other than that it's usually in the high 20's, low 30's (75-95F).

My friend was up in Canada for vacation. He went fishing up there at 'Sleepy Cabins'. Not sure where exactly that is, but he always has a good time.

But today hit 103*F with a heat index of ~115*. But I was inside for most of it.

ZL1power69
08-09-2007, 10:16 PM
yesterday we hit 100 with an index of 110... and i had to work outside :banghead: . humidity sucks ass. 110 in vegas was so much better. today it rained all day and only hit like 80. power went off when i was in the shower so i lost hot water. later found out lightning hit right behind my house and messed up my sat dish. then a wheel bearing on my friends truck decides to blow apart so i spent a couple hrs fixing that. what a day.

yeah, im engineering.. well, see the subject isnt the problem ,the teacher is.

this teacher (in hawaii) is so well known, if you go to any engineering fiorm and say 'i passed grace' they'd hire you on the spot!.. lol, hes really tough, but he teaches GOOD. lol

so far, everyone i know..has not passed dynamics from him..

for my SS class, out of 30~half has gone away.. (dropped class cuz they were gonna fail it) and the other half, prolly half of THEM will not pass eithier! @_@.

im guarenteed passing, i can get a 0 on my final.. but i want better.. but i dont think i can pull it off :(

no, 22mpg is a mix of both... if it's all city it's around 20 and if it's all highway it's higher

How the fuck do you get 20mpg in the city? From what I've heard, ~13-16mpg in the city is about average for an LT1. Sure, bolt-ons help the engine out, but I also have an A4, so...well, I knew I didn't like your car.

cuda_dude
08-10-2007, 12:57 PM
it's usually around there.. maybe once in a while down close to 18 but mostly around the 20's... a few towns over from me is this festival every year that has nothing but sweet cars cruising and ususally you move about 1/4 mile an hr... so after going through there a few times i figured my gas mileage would be shot (sitting pretty much for like 3 hrs and getting in "who's got the loudest car battles") but i was shocked to still get 16 mpg that day... I don't know how but that's how it figures out... I kind of still wish i didn't put my cam in just for the fact that right now it would be nice to see that 30mpg on the highway but shit... the power's nice... I'd been thinking about getting an msd box to get a few more mpg out of it still, because everyone I know that has one says they get maybe 2 more mpg with them but I'm still kind of leary to spend the few hundred bucks on one since this isn't my DD

poormillionaire2

skibum1111
08-10-2007, 08:10 PM
I do around 20 in town as well, usually around 25 on the highway with the car. With the xterra I'm lucky to get 22 on the highway, but it's worth it in the winter.

poormillionaire2
08-10-2007, 08:20 PM
I drove the truck (86 F-150, I-6, 4.9L, 1-brl) to school today to pick up my books and find my classes. Its about 21 highway miles away and took about 30 minutes each way with little traffic. I estimated how much gas I used with the gauge. I left with a tad less than half a tank, got back home with less than a quarter left. Now, the tank is about 16gal. So assuming I left with 8 gallons and came back almost empty and it was a total trip of 42 miles. That (42/8), or about 5mpg. Now that's sad. Also the reason why I am getting another car.

Blackcrow64
08-10-2007, 10:07 PM

.308 costs a bit more to shoot, and for what I'm doing its major overkill. Plus I have no need to reach out and touch something at 500+yards, although it would be fun.

man. summer vac's coming to an end.. and i only had a week of it (after summer school) !! all my projects going on at once.

anyonewith a early 4th gen (4 headlights) ever did a projector mod? im trying! :D if i get it done, ill post pics + how to..

i jacked a big projector.. not one of those wimpy ones.. off a OLD 318i bimmer. it was pretty new, one got replaced recently it seems. :p got two for 20bucks!! :D my friend was pretty sick cuz he wanted em too but he thought it was gonna be too much..

im gonna try totally custom make one. anyone got any ideas?! im thinking black plastic/clear plexi to make outside frame, pvc pipe that holds the lens, etc JBwelded onto the frame, i got the entire thing includong the pigtails..so i can just straight on mount a light to the back of the lens! :D!! i just gotta cut/crimp the stock -> not stock ones. i can always change the wattage rating lower, and im thinking hid's if i get er runnin.

its got the cutoff that you need and everything too. :)

That's pretty sweet... You will have to take pictures and keep us updated on it. I had thought about trying to put HID's in my Talon once I get it all running again... Man I love those lights... It's never easy to go back to normal headlights after driving something with HID...

ikeyballz
08-12-2007, 06:34 AM
yeah.. its gonna work, but i have a feeling i have to change the normal lights from the outter to the inner ones, since the inner lights have more space.. so i figure, swap the lights, move over the harness, change the inner lights to the remadeones.. even tho it'll look a bit junky with the normal lights on the inner side
