LOL I will use that next time. I was trying to find out what the problem post was last night but did not see anything really any different than anyother time. I agree if there is a problem just let use know and someone will take care of it.

nevertheless Duramax owns all... and yeah the avalanches are pretty nice as a family vehicle... i like mine... might not be sexy but the ladys still love it...

Ill admit that the Cummin's is one of the best diesels that you can get in a pickup truck, but the dodge trucks themselves are junk.

Motor finally has roughly 3,000 on it.

Only 3k? I thought you would have had more on it by now. I put 5k on the camaro the first 2 months I had it, then had to put it away for the winter. Footnote: It's hard to type fast when you have a good buzz going....

Well it depends really if he goes out and cruises every time he's bored.. which im guessing he doesnt.

I know it takes me 3 months to get 3K on my Monte anyway, but when I first got my Camaro I put around 10K in 2 months.. yup.. every day and night.. I was out.

Takes a ton of time to rack miles up for me.
I don't drive it to work, and when I get home from work I am too tired to bother with it.
There is always something with this car now.

Yeah! 4 day weekend! Well, at least from school. Ahh...what to do with the time.

I also need advice...my car seems really quiet with the new LT's I put in. With just the catback, it had a good rumble at idle and let people know I was coming at WOT, but now, with the full exhaust, idle is quieter and WOT is just really soft. I don't have any sound clips, but this is pretty much what my car sounds like right now. You can barely hear it at all in the car.

I want it to have a good rumble at idle and I want it to scream at WOT. But I don't know if I should replace the muffler or just by a new catback. I didn't plan on spending anymore money on aftermarket stuff for this car, but I want a good sound. But I'm not getting a cam. I think I want something around this.

Any suggestions or any good setups that people know of with Pacesetter longtubes and catted Y (high flow)? And I don't think magnaflow (as good as they are) will produce the sound that I'm looking for. I think I might get the LM again, but I'm not sure. And I'm not going to spend $700+ for a catback.

Get a cutout, quiet when you want it to be, loud when you want it to be.

u can get the flowtech ones for like 20 bucks or somethin like that or u can go with a QTP electric cutout. they are about 150 a piece then put the switches in the ashtry (secret weapon compartment).

I thought about the cutouts and I would get the electric ones if I did get them, but I think I just the car to breathe through the full exhaust.
Well, I don't know, that is a good point, quiet when I want, loud when I want.
I found a site that sells brand new LM catback for under $400, besides, the flowmaster was apparently aluminum and is pretty much rusted on the surface anyway. And cutouts would cost around $200 for a pair, then install (because they have to be welded and I can't do that) would be around $200 or so, so its about the same price. I hate decisions...I though I was done with this car...once I put in the new 160 thermo and passenger side O2 sensor.

Edit: Ok, I was wrong, I just looked up electric cutouts, and most places were selling them for around $200 each. So that's $400 for cutouts and $200 for install. But I'll have to check again for the install quotes. I know its cut, weld and wire procedure.

all that i can say is lt's with no cat and a borla catback is F'in loud... and adjustable....

Unfortuanately, I work everyday over my 4 day weekend. But its better than getting up and going to school in the morning.

As far as the exhaust thing goes, I may just buck up and buy another SLP LM system. It sounded good as just a catback, so I hope it gives a good rumble on full exhaust.

Yeah.. you know, id like school alot better if it wasnt for the waking up in the morning part.. i'd rather goto school from 12 to 8 pm than 8 am to 3 pm.

Shit, I can't go to school in the afternoon. I did the work program in high school and got out at 11 AM, so I got used to that. Now, I sign up for the morning classes in college and have them back to back because I hate breaks inbetween them.

i just get monday off from college, but i work everyday this weekend. i hated high school from 730-230. only looked forward to auto service which was from 930-210. now i got college from 930-300 with a gap for lunch.
poor, when you put the LT's on im assuming u noticed a performance difference. i would rather have it loud but quiet enough to be sort of a stealth bomber. if u don't want to get cutouts, get the borla catback so u can adjust it. its around the same price as the SLP exhaust. i like the sound of both but for the same amount of money i would get the borla for the adjustability.

I thought the borla system was around $700 or so. I found the modular loudmouth for $400. But I haven't looked up borla because I thought it was so much.
But yeah, I did notice a performance difference. Definatley got more torque and I think they gave me about 500 more revs up top, so it revs past redline now (I have an auto). Don't have a tune yet, so I think I am going to send off to PCMforless over the winter when I don't need my car.

Might have moved the peak power up a slight amount (100-200 RPM) but it didn't add RPM to your powerband.
That is changed with cam and valvetrain.

Car is seeing more air, moving slightly quicker.

Your tach might be behind how fast the motor actually spins up by just a little.
Plus, the computer is probably learning the new airflow. Might shift a touch later for a little while.
