Is It Just Me Or Is The P11 Like Hella Loud?

oK SO I have a 2002 G20. Its nice and all...little weak on the power side but what is the deal with the noise? The freakin car is so damn loud when on the highway...engine sounds like its going to bust a nut and the wind noise is crazy. I know kids with freakin corollas and ghetto old as civics that don't make as much noise....

Anyone else getting this problem or should I bitch at Infiniti while my warranty is still good?

How high have you ridden the revs?

above 5000RPM it gets really throaty..... sounds deep and really nice.

3000-5000 it starts to show some good torque-pull.

...... If its manual that is.

i think something might be up w/ your car! I have mods on my car including an exhaust, and it's still not loud!!! Also, when i first got my car a few months later i drove to LV and the whole time i drove up, my car was as quiet as the desert!!! that's strange, you have auto or manual?

Its not really as much as engine sound but more like the sound of wind at increasing speeds and my tires are freakin loud as hell...I think I do need to balance it out but that doesn't account for the wind noise.

Try putting on some good tires. Search the threads on here, I know there was a topic about which tires are the quietest.

For the sound of wind see if the doors aren't to lose. At least in Europe they usualy come to lose. I had a P10 and a have now a P11, i can say that the P11 has less wind noise.

I have a P10 manuel and my sister has a P11 auto, these cars are pretty solid. The wind noise is a little bit louder in my G. it may be caused by my 17 inch wheels. Anyways, I drove both cars and I really think you might have to get your engine check. It should not be as loud as you stated. The only time our cars get loud is when we open it up past 5000-6000rpm.
