Who likes it loud?

Hey all, im really into Car audio and serious bass. Right now im Running a few Rockford Punch Hx2's each powerd by a 300x Rockford fosgate amp. As you can tell im pretty well into Rockford audio. But if you guys have a sweet system of your own or you just found something way cool that you have to show me, feel free. I will try to keep some cool crap in here....

Right now I have a crap Sony system, but I have bought about half of the stuff I need for my up and coming system, which will probably be in by this summer. It consists of a Pioneer DEH-P8500MP head unit, a Hifonics Brutus BX-1500D amplifier, a Lightning Audio cap (don't ask, I didn't buy it, so why not put it to use), Optima Yellow top (soon to be bought), an Adire Brahma 15" subwoofer (soon to be bought), and a 3.5 cubic foot box tuned to maybe 35 Hz, maybe lower (which is also soon to be bought).

it sounds pretty good right now, come summer I'm probably upgrading the HU to an Alpine CDA-9835 and the speakers to a high level DIY setup. The sub isn't going anywhere, I love this bastard

in my town RF is the thing to do and some pple have crappy jensens and sony's and around here who i get to laugh at, and yeh i have heard other things. I know that kicker, audiobahn's and other stuff gets louder, but i have a "source" where i can get way cheap rockford stuff and blow away like anybody i really want to around here. I have heard loads of stuff, from audiobahn ( to shitty little jensens and most of whats between..

Hate to break it to you, but everything you just mentioned is crap, including audiobahn. Do they not even have JL by you? I consider JL to be the only mainstream company that is good, though they're very overpriced.

Hey how about you put up a rockford 15 competition subwoofer v.s. a JL W7 and see which one gets hight on the scale... im afriad you will be disapointed. And i dare you to find a bigger speaker than audiobahn's 34 inch 5000 watt RMS monster, or kickers 18 inch competition subwoofer, which is alos 5000 watts RMS... do it and i will take your word for it...any of which would pound a W7

Adire's new subwoofer, the parthenon is close and louder to the audiobahn. I think a 15" rockford would get beat by a JL w7 anyday. There are multiple 6 foot subwoofers made that handle a crapl load more than the audiobahn's 5000 watts. There is one made by MTX. I met the dare. Put a JL w7 ported and a rockford or kicker ported. Push 2000 watts rms to the subs and I am sure the JL will come out on top. Considering that I haven't seen a rockford that will do more than 2000 watts rms. The team rf subs are 2000 watts rms. The rockford will be over there loud and shitty sounding, while the JL will be loud and nice sounding.(may not be louder, but that is not the point in JL's design.) Now put the 5000 watts to a kicker. Hey it gets loud whoop de do. It doesn't sound that clean. I will put a Phoenix gold cyclone with 600 watts going in it against a solo x with 5000 watts any day. P.S. The CYCLONE will rape it up the butt and leave pieces of the Kicker behind and the Rockford. Now one thing you power crazy people don't look at is a thing called xmax. The Jl has 32mm XMAX, almost 10 MM than the KICKER and the ROCKFORDS. Wow, they require a crapload more power to get them to less movement. That sucks. Yay, the RF has an 18" cone, the JL has a 13" cone. What it losses in cone size it makes up for in the movement of the cone. It sounds a hell of a lot cleaner, and maybe not as loud, but I also doubt those subs will last long at 5000 watts or more than even 2000 watts. Kicker drives there solox and measures there xmax at 55% linearity... that can't sound good... JL measures there xmax at a full clean sound. RF's have a wimpy xmax from what I see. LOL. Ok all good and fun now. I haven't heard these 3 subs side to side, so I don't know, but shear power is not the key to volume. Never is, never has been.

Didn't read past the gerberish stuff, but Kicker, RF, Adire, JL are all great brands. Can't we all just get along?

But just because one sub is louder than the other doesn't make it a better subwoofer. The Rockford Fosgate Team RF subwoofer has over 40N/A of BL, making it able to far super louder, but compare it in Sound quality and the RF is in the dump. Better subs in different applications, but not better in every case

I like Rockford Fosgate thought. Their new stuff is definitely worth the wait. Looks like Rockford finally got back on track.

The 60" subwoofer that richard clark built is bigger than the AUdiobahn 34''


BTW, how much can you get the 15" Rockford Power HX2? I'm in need for more subs. LOL!
