1990 lesabre...relays click like crazy loud clunk wont stay running until warm
Ok well I buy this 250 dollar lesabre not a bad car but the guy who had owned the car before me sold it because it would start run die start run die and after it was warmed up it runs like a charm perfect... I am trying to eliminate this problem so I took it to a shop...the mechanic calls me and says he has no idea the relays click and there is alot of noise coming from the right side of the dash. so my question is if it runs fine when its warm but like to stall out unless foots on the gas until its warm then whats the problem...it is electrical but there is no way to hook it up to a diagnostic machine because the check engine light does not come on it flickers a bit but does not come on It has come up negative on all test performed Im going to clean and tighten the ground connections I will repost...

Okay, I checked the grounds they are all tight. There is one relay clicking in perticular. I cannot figure this out. The shop gave it back said they couldn't figure it out. The relay fires off like crazy. After driving the vehicle it will run for 30 or more miles on the interstate no problem. This problem just randomly happens. Last night it did it continuely for about five minutes. Then started up and ran fine any ideas guys.

The mechanic that looked at the car was stumped but said that the computer could be the culprit but he wasn't sure the speeddometer stops working clicking it keeps running then at a stop it clicks alot more the lights flash and it dies

What relay? If you can find the wire colors on the relay socket, we can probably identify it for you, and possibly get you closer to a solution.
