clutch/clutch cable prob

Ok heres the prob. Im new to your guys message board so dont jump me if this sounds stupid. Ive got a 91 crx hf all stock at the moment. My car just came out of the shop from getting some passenger side suspension work done. I brought it home and put in a new shortshifter i ordered a few weeks ago. now all of a sudden it died on me. i was driving down 94 and it wouldnt go into 5th then it wouldnt go into 4th then 3rd and so on until it rolled to a stop. All the gears just roll out and redline. now it gos into gear no problem and it just revs out. would anyone happen to know if its the short shifter the clutch the clutch cable or what. i need to fix it asap. any info would be apreciated.

If the clutch was close to wearing out before than I would guess it was the clutch......the short shifter shouldnt have anything to do with it though

Have you checked your clutch cable, cause it could have slipped or snapped. Cause if it was the actuall clutch i think it would move just a little bit when you rev up. Was it slippin out of gear or anything before this happened??

also, another problem is that ur gears could have blown out, that happened to my old tranny, the backend where the speedo goes it blew off the back and the shifter got really stiff and could barely get it into gear. the car just sat there and reved when that happened. so u may have blown all the synchros out or blew all the gears out or something

its not hard to put it in gear or anything so its seeming like its not the tranny its just not grabbing the gears does this sound like the flywheel. the reason i thought it was the clutch was it was just barely starting to slip but ive never seen one just start to slip and then suddenly go bad over night. and its not the clutch cable i checked that out last night it seems ok.

were u driving the car hard when this happened??
because it sounds like a snapped pressure plate, snapped clutch, or blown synchros or a blown diff.
ur speedo doesnt go up when its in gear and u have the clutch out does it?? u may have 2 stripped axels but i doubt it
