Clutch Cable 97 Corolla

Hi as I know nothing about cars how do you know when it is time to replace you clutch cable? is there someting you can do to check it yourself?

Mine is an automatic--but I thought that these cars have hydraulic clutches. If that is the case, then I don't think you have a clutch cable. Someone let me know if I am wrong.

You are correct sjr8ut, the clutch operates Hydrolicly .
The Shift linkage is cable driven. No adjustment of the clutch is needed.

marklfc77, if it seems like you need to replace your clucth cable, maybe you need to bleed the hydraulic line to the clutch. Pick up a haynes manual from your local auto parts store. Its really easy to bleed clutch. it does take 2 people though (one to push the clutch, the other to tighten and loosen a nut).
