Please, don't get me wrong. I had no intention to question somebody's driving ability, or any other capability, virtue and whatnot. I am a young student with almost no experience in what you guys do and what you have been through, automotive related. I did not say whos kid was in the car and when. I was referring to the video above, not your video... I knew that everyone took care about young priceless artefact, but there is always a risk. I am not here to make a fuss, we are all here to discuss about Mclarens. It certainly would have been a better decision if I kept my fingers away from the keyboard.

My son was with me for the day by the was never in the car at speed. He been out plenty times in the f1 but I would never put him danger if going for 190mph...

Car is mega quick. Never experienced anything like it. Car only geared for under 200 and was hitting that half way down straight. Would love to put it against any other car from rolling start.

I agree that clutch thing; and really why anyone with F1 or GTR should burn that standing start? Everyone knows who quick and respected the F1 today is; there is nothing to prove to anyone. :)

Seems also that quite many of these road converted GTR's have very short gearing, even the engine has so much torque that it doesn't really mather, but seems it's better to drive when short gearing?

I don't believe that comment was in reference to that particular GTR - but rather the F1 in general.

17R and its sister car 16R raced for a psuedo-BMW factory effort campaigned by Team Bigazzi SRL in 1996. They initially planned only to race the pair at the 24Hrs of Le Mans that year, but I think it was Ron Dennis who insisted they should shake the cars down in one of the 4Hr races - they chose Silverstone. This GTR finished 4th overall from 1st on the grid in that race. Then they went to Le Mans and this GTR finished 8th from the 12th starting position. 16R was 11th in both events. That was the only time either one raced competitively.

I have to say to be surprised how great this street legal GTR really sounds! Always had some thoughts that it's "too silent" compared to racespec GTR, but no. This is fantastic. The best V12 ever made.
