Guess I missed that when you posted it in 2007. :dunno:
I actually created that image by stitching together two scanned pages from the French magazine SportAuto and then shared it here in 4 resolutions 1600/1200/1024/800 way back in May of 2004.
Here it is at 1600 res:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/Peloton25/McLaren%20F1/th_1715mclaren_1600.jpg (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/Peloton25/McLaren%20F1/1715mclaren_1600.jpg)
Here's another image from the article that wasn't tweaked and also gives a clearer shot at the windscreen banner:

That was typical McLaren F1 braking sound. And it doesn't depend if the brakes are cold or hot. It's a sort of F1's identity. When you stop next to casino in Monte everybody will turn to see "rusty lizzy", but they will picture "omigod".

OK, hmmm I wonder has any of the owners complained that braking sound to McLaren?
For me new thing this braking thing and the red light on the rev-meter. I suppose it's rigid, when engine rews reach 7500rpm?
Hmm or maybe I should read DA once again more carefully.....

Did you notice the gearbox howl - that's typical for F1 too, as well as tyres and wind noise. And reverse gear is a trick. And dashboard reflection in the windscreen is typical too. DA doesn't have this information.

thanks for the correction guys. See, I couldn't understand that 01R appeared on Suzuki Circuit, as apparently it didn't race anymore after LM24 '95, right? Now it makes sense. Still weird though that they copy a livery (well not just 'a' livery, but THE livery :-) ) onto another GTR.

#02R is sort of MIA - there have been whispers but no real sighting [with pics] for a long while.
#02R in the Ueno livery at Suzuka was just a wrap - it wasn't repainted :)
