Shortage? Not here. However, today I filled my truck at $3.25/gal
I'm back to experimenting with the acetone thing again. lol i'm hoping acetone ended up in shed during the move. Not too bad filled up at $2.79 cheapest i could find around me.

My engine (3.4L Toyota) really runs smoother with the acetone and gets a little better (maybe) mileage. I am constantly torn between the better mileage and paying for the acetone and taking the time to get it and put it in each fill up. The mileage improvement isn't enough to obviously justify adding the acetone.

Brian, try adding the acetone during the summer months, aparantly is doesn't help anywhere near as much with the winter fuels that we get. Sometimes not at all.
I just did a mileage test without using it in my Diesel Topaz, and went 620km on 30L which equals 58.4 mpg (I would imagine tha's Canadian gallons but it doesn't specify. Probably somewhere around 50mpg US gallons)
I'll try adding the acetone with my next fill and see what I get.
I couldn't use the same pump both times like I usually like to, so I really don't know how accurate it is. I'll be using the same pump constantly while I'm on the island.

Things I don't like: 1. wierd sleeping schedule.... your friends will ALWAYS end up calling you when you've just passed out. 2. never seem to sleep enough 3. you screw up your sleep schedule on days off (what I do on days off is wake up at 2pm instead of 8pm, then have time to hang out with friends for a while 4. working with incompetant people (thats everywhere though)
overall I like it, but would rather be on days, so i sleep more normally and get to hang out with friends more. lol BTW the blazer on Trucks ch44 sucks

I did N/C for 8 years when I was younger. Took a beating on the bod! I still have the back problems and aching joints too. Sleeping is a bitch too - especially in the summer when the neighnors kids are home from school or when they decide to cut the lawn! On the good side you get to hang at the beach or where ever all day and enjoy the sunshine! Sleep when you're dead...

That's the same author (Louis La Pointe) and article that's been posted and referred to previously. There is no significant other information from anyone of credibility - that I've seen. Almost every article I've read quotes him and adds nothing to what he originally published.
He sells that mileage meter that he mentions in that article (the "ScanGauge"). I don't trust him as far as I can throw him.

No big deal - anyone can take what they can from that article. As long as they know that he is not exactly neutral on the subject. It was posted in a different form in the old acetone threads. As before, some people see a benefit and some don't. You have to try for yourself and be objective. Adding acetone to your gas will clean out your fuel system as would any solvent. The real test is when you stop using it for a while and drive the same as you have done with the acetone in. If the gain dissappears with the acetone, then maybe it is doing something besides cleaning your injectors.
My truck definitely seems to run smoother with it in, but at $10/gal, and forcing me to measure it special for my tank, it better do alot more than that. I think it gives me 1, maybe 1.5 mile per gallon at 8 oz/18 gal, but that's also not enough. I have to experiment with it some more.

That's 1 good thing about working at a car lot, I can buy some stuff, get re-funded by the boss and still use it on my own car (as long as I use it on the lots cars as well.

I've decided to give this car lot 1 more week for the business to improve, then I'm moving on. Off Vancouver Island and back to the Okanagan.
There's just no money here, and I really see no point in staying.
To be perfectly honest I really can't see how people can even afford the gas, so why would they want to buy a car?
I don't know what I'll be doing in the Okanagan yet, but I like the nice dry semi-desert more than this basicly rain forest enviroment. Plus I physically feel better there.

Anybody know how to install a fuel cell or give me links to where i can read what i need etc? I want a 20-22 gallon cell in the cutlass to replace the gas tank becuz more gas holding ability lol less trips to gas station. I was told 32 gallon but i ruled that out because it'll be heavy. Is it also good to put it in trunk get some kinda bracket welded to hold it in then bolt that to the floor and put the battery on the opposite side? I wanna move the battery to the trunk because itll give more engine space.

Since I started work here there's been around 10 cars sold, and it's costing me more to work than what I make :shakehead
We just need more people loomking with money. The other lots in town are all having the same problems as well.
If your spare tire is in the trunk just mount the fuel cell in the hole.
I would recomend keeping the stock tank there, and running a dual tank setup. It shouldn't cost you too much extra, and you might be able to rob a lot of the required parts from a Ford Pickup.
Just a steel plate on the bottom side of the car should be all the re-enforcement that you need. Just anything so the bolts don't get ripped through the thin sheel metal

You'll have to bend some steel fuel line that can handle the fuel pressure, purchase the proper fittings, and probably flare the fuel lines.
You'll also probably want to run a short section flexable pressure line with the proper fittings.
It really shouldn't be all that hard.
Check out http://www.hotrodders.com/ for some more info on the subject. I imagine that several people on there have done simular things.
