Hello, as I said before, I start making models again after a long time...
This is the Revell BMW 320i schnitzer team STW '95

but again I'm going for a street - drift version

please be patient because I dont have much free time, plus I try to make more models at the same time

feel free to check my other posts...

I believe this is an old kit (never seen it before)
I accidently found it at a toy shop (!)
as you can see its box is in a very bad condition (while the inside is very good)

these are the stuff in the box..

and here they are out of the box ...

Don't forget the staggered, deep-dish wheels

Re: WIP: Revell BMW 320i street - drift

well, the weels in this kit are not so nice, so I change them with the ones from the r33 kit..

here are the original:

here are the "new ones":

here is a comparison:

here is the body:

its pre painted and with decals, but I dont want them, so I'll scratch them out and sand the paint off the body, if you know what I mean

this is another view of the body:

I'm not putting air wing , so I will close these two holes

and here is a view of the wheels test-fitted on the BMW:

I think they are ok, what do you think??

Re: WIP: Revell BMW 320i street - drift

The wheels look pretty good. I think, rather than sanding off the paint (and risking damage to the body), you can use oven cleaner (let it soak for a week) and the paint should strip right off. However, I don't really know what kind of paint the pre-painted kits use, so this may not work. But it wouldn't hurt anything, and is worth trying before you sand.

Re: WIP: Revell BMW 320i street - drift

thanx for the advice, but I allready did it.
ok there was no problem, and I like the result. I think painting will be easier now that its sanded. well here are the pictures..

scratching started:

more scratching and some sanding done:

no more decals! and i also removed the bumpers (they were glued on - bad condition - not good fitted - too much glue) :

test fitting the bumpers:

removing the badges:

rear bumper glued on again, and closed the wing holes:

(I put a piece of styrene to close these holes from under)

some work on the front bumper...

and the body is ready!

add some coments here...

Re: WIP: Revell BMW 320i street - drift

I had to cut a little amount of the brakes because my new wheels are smaller in diameter...

I put some "carpet" for the interior... (its toilet paper )

put a shift and a handbrake,
I'm not sure about these speakers..

Re: WIP: Revell BMW 320i street - drift

looking nice.. love the colour.. did you prime the body before spraying on tamiya paint?? if you didn't prime the body, did the Tamiya paint react with the paint that was original on the body?? i suggest sanding will not bring all the original paint off the body..

Re: WIP: Revell BMW 320i street - drift

Hello there I have tryed to kep up with your builds I thought you finished this build any ways here's a hint to make you car realy look like a Drift car that the pros use add some markings you could have just left it the way it was an it would pass a a pro drift car an I see it now I think your going for a novist or non-pro look a truly street drifter. Like a sleeper in drag racing it looks stock but it will blow your doors off. cant wate to see the end.
