WIP: 99' Subaru Impreza street/track

well first of all, i'd like to give a huuuuge thanks to MidMazar for sending out these wheels to me so i could finnaly start this project! thanks man!

Its been a long while since ive done some modeling so im trying to find time to get back into the hobby!

I decided to start it off by painting this car ts-45 pearl white. tamiya sprays are awesome, its one of my first trys using them and now im sticking with it. they polish out real easy too!

heres what I have done so far, ive been trying to do a little here and there in between work in school.

its really hard to get this color to show on camera, but i think it looks good.

getting ready to paint the interior.

thanks!

btw, if you notice the mr2 in the background, its almost done, i'll have a completed thread soon

So is this a rally car that you are making into a street version? That is really cool.

Re: WIP: 99' Subaru Impreza street/track

new update! finally... i decided to do a panty hose carbon fiber hood since i was short on carbon decals. I think I actually like this method better though.

Re: WIP: 99' Subaru Impreza street/track

yeah body is already polished, i just did the hood after wards so the hood is not polished yet. I painted the hood using gloss black, light gun metal, and some panty hose. then i clear coated it.

If i was you i would cf the vents on the hood also. The panty hose cf came out excellent, i have to try that method. It porobably works good on complex curves and irregular parts.

Re: WIP: 99' Subaru Impreza street/track

You sprayed the black, then covered with pantyhose and sprayed the gunmetal, right? Or was it the other way around? I plan to use this method for the large undertrays of DTM/Le Mans cars to save decals.
