Re: WIP: Tamiya Skyline R33

YEP!
tamiya pearl light blue (spray)

(no its not in the manual - its not a stock color of r33)
I'm not going for a stock version anyway so...
I just saw it and I think it is a very nice color, but ... pictures will talk

as for the wheels, I will not use the stock (again),
I got the wheels from my BMW 320 kit and I'm going to make them "dip dish" and fit them on the skyline...

here are the stock r33 wheels, and the wheels from the BMW kit (not yet modified)

Re: WIP: Tamiya Skyline R33

I'm interested to see how the Pearl Light Blue turns out on such a beast of a car. I'm still trying to decide which car would look good with that colour. Deepdish is looking great.

Re: WIP: Tamiya Skyline R33

I've sprayed a few cars with wings already on them. Just gotta make sure you hit all the angles, and you'll get coverage. It helps to put the model on a stand on a table when you spray it, so you can crouch down and shoot upward to get the underside of the wing. If you can't do this, a cheap way to get around it is to mask off the sides and crossbar of the wing, spray the sides silver (eventually) or bodycolor if you want, and CF the crossbar.

Re: WIP: Tamiya Skyline R33

I hate those damn bubbles! >_< I always get them for some reason. One time I did such an awesome paint job I was appalled, but my dad decided to water the fern and I placed the model near it to dry it. Water splattered all over the model before it was completely dry and now I got those nasty water spots. >_<
