what the drifferent color primer does is change the Hue of the color, such as red, its a trasparent color, if you use white primer and paint you body red it will come out bright and just like the color is suppost to be, if you use black primer the red will come out darker then regular, its not neccessarally bad, it will just give you a different shade of the color.

i'm kinda new to modeling and is this info instinctual or has it been trial and error for you guys??? cuz i am really bad with colors and i wouldn't know which paint to put on wat primer. i've read that dark colors should go on grey primer and white primer is used for transparent colors like red, yellow, and white.
Heres my question wat about a silver paint job. should i use grey or white primer???

thanks

This information is tried and true. for a silver paint job, I would use white primer.

Silver is an opaque color (usually), so I really wouldn't worry too much. White primer will ensure the silver isn't a darker shade than you expect, but I don't think it'll make a great deal of difference.

If you're new to everything, just worry about getting the basics of painting down for now, and you'll pick up a lot of knowledge about colors as you go.
