White or black paint?
My boy Todd just bought an 88 Civic DX for a good price. It was only $1000 with new CV joints, windshield, and painted interior. The only problem is that it makes a rattling noise when he pushes down on the gas while he is driving. When he lets off it stops...he steps back on the gas it starts. It rattles at idle too. Is this the exhaust? Also the car is a that shitty factory gold and the clear coat is flaky as hell. He wants to have Maaco paint it either black or white. Which color hides dents better?

That rattling noise is probably the heat shield. IMO i like black cars better.

White would hide dents better, but if youre going to get a nice paint job anyways, they will pull out any dents so it wont really matter. But wih the rattling noise, the heat shield mellowboy was refering to is the shield on your exhaust piping. It starts around the cat and goes for a while back. Get someone to get a cutting torch and cut it off, its too much of a pain to try to get the bolts undone. Since the car is at least 10 years old, and the bolts havent ever been undone, they will be harder than crap to get off. Thats just my opinion, but I took a torch to mine and it took 5 mintues.
