Completed 1966 GT40 - #44 Spa Francorchamps
This is the Fujimi kit built OOB. The only thing I did was respray the white roundels (sp?) with Tamiya pure white because they were too transparent from Fujimi. The body is painted with Plasti-Kote VW paint, it was close enough to the correct color for me.

Great GT40, well done. The glimpse of the Mk II in the background of the last shot looks great too.
Not sure if the spinners should be colour coded like that, but they add some nifty colour.

I was going to ask about the spinners too?

Re: Completed 1966 GT40 - #44 Spa Francorchamps
Thanks everyone for the compliments.
Through my research I found that most GT40's did have color coded spinners/knockoffs. Red on one side and blue on the other. In long races they had prolems with the spinners loosening and the wheels falling off the left side of the car. So to resolve the problem they put right hand threads on the spindles on one side of the car and left hand threads on the other side to prevent loosening as the car moved forward so the spinners have to be color coded to know which side of the car they belong to. At least that's my story and I'm sticking to it.... lol
