In Progress: Fujimi GT40's
It's been a while since I posted any progress pics so I thought I would share what I'm working on at this time.
2 Fujimi GT40's (the silver one is somewhat of a street version). The blue one will be the #44 Spa-Francorchamps (sp?) version. It's painted with Plasti-Kote VW light blue (close enough to the right color for me) and the silver one is Tamiya TS-17 Gloss Aluminum, Both were cleared with Tamiya clear and polished. The wheels on the silver one are the wire wheels that came with the kit and only a light wash added to the spokes to give some separation from the rim. The wheels on the blue one are also from the kit. I scribed a thin line with an exacto blade around the inside lip and then flowed on some Testors Dark Anodized Gray metalizer with a very soft paint brush for the centers. I like the result and it was a lot easier than masking and airbrushing. I'll post the silver one in the "street" section when it's done. ![]() ![]()

Re: In Progress: Fujimi GT40's
Two good looking cars.
Good luck with painting the seats... That's where I stopped (temporarily), still have to get me something to paint the little metal rings on the chairs. Looking forward to your progress

A few more updates:
The completed chassis for the blue car and the ramaining parts for the silver car.... seats, brakes, dash, etc... Both are being built OOB. For the seats, although maybe not the best way to do it, I drilled out the center of all the gromets/rivets and then painted the seat flat black. The flat black has enough texture to allow a sliver colored Prisma brand colored pencil to be used to color/outline each rivet. It's not perfect but once inside the car and completed they look fairly realistic and it's a lot easier than trying to actually paint each rivet with silver paint or attach individual photoetched seat rivets. Anyway, here are a few more pics: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
