Getting through the firewall..

Hey guys, new to the forums, but i was just wondering for all of you that have done sound system and electrical work on your cars.. is there an easier way of routing wires through the firewall without drilling out the plastic grommets... or even so, where would you guys recommend running these wires? i've been up under the dash with a flashlight numberous times trying to find a viable outlet to get a power wire through the wall, all i could find were a few holes above the brake and gas pedals, however would definately require a little drilling or something else. any help you can lend is appreciated,

There is a rubber grommet on the drivers side... pull this out and drill a hole in it just smaller than the power cable... Run the power cable threw it and pull it threw the firewall until the grommet is installed. Then complete routing the wire. That is the best way to do it... You have to use a grommet or you will get leaks and noise.

yEA i JUST SLICED A HOLE ABOUT A CM LONG FOR THE WIRE TO THE BATTERY, AND JUST RAN THE REST ALONG THE DRIVERS SIDE UNDER THE PLASTIC DOOR FRAMES, ANFD THE WIRES TO THE DECK UNDER THE CARPET UNDERNEATH THE PEDALS. tHE WIRES TO THE TRUNK JUST GO BETWEEN THE SEAT. pRETTY EASY iF YOU DO IT THAT WAY
