Tips for racing a RWD

I'm asking this newbie question, just cause there are probably many people want to know about these things and are afraid to ask. Or also couldn't find stuff on a search. So if anyone wants to give good racing tips, please add them. I'll add mine later


I'll be posting two other ones for racing FWDs and AWD.

Probably the two most important aspects of RWD dragging....hell,even AutoX and Roading.....are these:

1)Throttle modulation-before takeoff,you want to -try- to be in the part of your cars powerband that gives you the most torque to effectively put to the ground.....all while not roasting tires through 1st,2nd,and 3rd.
Also either lifting off or giving too much gas through a given turn is guarunteed "fun" times.

2)Mental anticipation-you don't want to wait until green before getting the vehicle on its way.
Same as you've got to be thinking about how to attack the next curve or apex before you even finish the one you're in.

I know there are many more techniques, but these have proven to be the most basic,yet most important parts of racing in a rear wheel driven car.

there's really no reason for 3 of these threads...
you can't even keep them straight yourself...

it really depends on what you're driving, what kind of mods, what kind of tires, etc.

you can't say that ALL fwd/awd/rwd cars will react the same

put down PS2 controller learn the real way by doing ask a buddy with a RWD car or better yet see if he'll let you try. I can spell it out for you but its something you need to learn by doing

do you read your own posts. Yes you will be flamed and the people flaming are the ones who know what there talking about so you won't learn anything so my is give up you can't win mr. bond

hey I'm not trying to WIN. I'm just trying to give information to people who want it!. I mean seriously a common trait I see are people who ask for ideas or help after they run a search cause they can't find what they are looking for. So what's your problem, if you don't even want to give people a little aid? Are you really that self indulged?. If you are...I'm sorry for you sir...

technically, in a forum under the "racing" header, you're looking for tips to be a better driver.
meaning, launching, cornering, etc.
and what does that help you do?
in a race, it helps you win.
why don't you ask these questions in the TECHNICAL forum under racing.
or, ask your launch questions in drag racing, ask your cornering questions in road racing.

this is the street racing forum, no matter how off topic it gets.
