New racers in town...

Okay...So I was testing my Mk. III Supra the other night and I went as far as the beach, pulled a u-turn, and hit 173 returning home(still needs a little more work). I took the long way home and found a team of 10 racers parked at Sonic. the entire team had black paint jobs and kinda emit this bad vibe. This is what I saw:

1. Corvette C4
2. Integra Type R
3. WRX Imprezza
4. Z32 300ZX
5. 85' 5.0 Mustang GT
6. Eclipse GS-T
7. Civic DX
8. Lancer ES
9. 03' Prelude
10. 03' Cougar

I decided to drive on to the next place to get something to eat(McDonalds ). not even a good 10 minutes later, the Lancer, the Mustang, and the Integra fly past me doing at least 140. Seeing as how I resigned from my old team, I have screwed myself over. Sonic is considered my territory and now this team appears out of nowhere? I'm screwed beyond reason for a while...Anything like this ever happen in any of your towns?

we never set tuffs for teams here. we just race. its not realy a gang thing you know? but anyways, not to sound like an ass, but a small correction. there is no 03 prelude. they stopped making them in 01. anyways back to the subject. do you think those guys are fast? why not run one of them? or just chill and have a chat.

Doesn't sound rude to me. Thanks for the correction.

No neons Blu Civic.

The reason I didn't race any of them is because I need another 2 1/2 weeks(at least) so my cousin & I can finish working on the car.

Fearless Racer you have a mk III supra too. I think there is another guy on his forum that has one to. What are you doing to your car right now I’m rebuilding my engine and putting the SP61GT with nitrous hopefully be in the 11's right now in the 13's with high trap speeds but with bad traction but good luck with your mk III and gain you turf back.

My Mods are Engine Dead BHG tried of missing with going full engine rebuild

K&N FI Pk
HKS blowoff valve
Magna spark plug wires
550cc Injectors (If i go bigger turbo i might go with 720cc)
t3/t4 turbo
Turbo elbow
Spearco Innercooler
Hks exhaust & test pipe and Down pipe
No cats
Exaust cut-off
fuel pump and manual pressure regulator
Lexus/REMI air fuel management system
Clutch Master stage 3
Fluidine radiator

Re: New racers in town...

i really honestly question the integrity of your thread...
those are the 10 most unlikely cars to find in one spot.
you hit 173 in your mk3 supra. mods list, please?
what kinda power are you putting down?
and you could tell they were all black, and were all a team?

riiiight...

the fact that you noted the 03 prelude is even funnier, and it's not just an oversight. they've not been in dealerships for almost 3 years, most anyone with an import knows that.
and i don't know if you know, but the cougar's been chopped too.

you didn't race any of these guys, but you can hit 173. that would toast anything that was in that lot. anything.

a lancer es, a teg type r, and an 85 mustang gt all did 140 past you.
except a lancer es couldn't go that fast. the type r could, but it's geared for quicker acceleration. and i'm amazed that you knew the exact model/year of the mustang.

i know i'm sounding like an ass, but i really, honestly, don't believe your story. sorry.

I'm not saying you have to believe me man. I don't really car for Hondas that much so I would be the one to confuse a Prelude. Half of what Suprasrule typed sounds like my engine(with the following exceptions: drag radials, Koni struts, GReddy boost controller Lexus/REMI air fuel management system, and clutch master stage 3). Anyone with an eye for a muscle car can tell from one good look what year the car is. It is up to you whether you want to believe me or not and I respect your opinion.

As for me...The only 3 I'm looking at as team mates right now happen to be an Eclipse and 2 Civics.

when you said you hit 173 i thought you meant you hit route 173. lolz casue i thought that was pretty unlikely to hit 173mph. anyways if you say you can, then alright. can't call his bluff if his mods are simliar to that other mark III then it sound possible. since my car has potential to hit 150mph.

173 is entirely possible in a MKIII not-stock but modded my brother had his 89 na (bone stock) doing around 145 mph or so.

Man.. I like muscle cars a lot, but I don't have the knowledge to point out a 85 Mustang GT as I drive by..... and I drive a Foxbody.......

Tat, haha.. I thought he was talking about route 173 too.. untill I saw that his car still needs a little more work... haha....

I'm skeptical still... flylwsi already asked for specifics, but you weren't really specific at all.. so i'll ask too! What kind of power numbers are you putting down? How much boost are you running? Stock internals I'm assuming since you said your mods are very similar to Suprasrule's list.

Oh ya, where you located?

Re: New racers in town...

don't know how you could confuse a lude with any honda that's available as an 03. not possible.
a lancer es doing 140? come on man.

of course you're going to say, "yeah, my mods are just like that other guy who listed mods".
convenient, isn't it?
do you have any documented proof of what you've got, or are you just going to run with the "i've got what he's got" BS line? come on... that's what we like to call "copping out" .

you can tell a muscle car's year by one look?
it's a mustang. from 79-86 they were pretty much identical. from 87-93 they were completely identical. how can you pick out the specific year exactly?
but not know the year of the c4 corvette?

i'm officially calling your bluff now.

and don't take it the wrong way, but i just don't believe what you're saying from what you said. sorry.

so if you can explain how, in passing, you picked the year of one "muscle car", but not the other, and knew it was a gt, and knew it was a 5.0...

i'll be impressed...

Re: New racers in town...

i have a question...are the MKIII aerodinamicaly viable to do 173?

since that speed can flip over your car like a leaf

Now I know better but I could see some one calling a latter lude an 03. The later ones have that kind of new age look that a lot of car companies are doing. Also with the speeds he was probably just guessing to give us a sense of how fast they flew by him. Anyways maybe his bsing maybe he not. The way you jumped all over him it sounds to me like you’re a little jealous. Just cause he maybe exaggerates a little doesn't mean he is lying. 173 to me don’t sound that out there. Many cars can do 150 so what's 170?

Re: New racers in town...

i'm not jumping all over him at all.
there's some very inconsistent information in these posts.
that's all. i'm looking for clarification, b/c i outright don't believe what he's saying...

the aero thing is even more interesting, considering that the body style he has would need some pretty interesting aero work to get it to be stable at 173. and if it wasn't 173, why lie about it?
it gets you no where.
what am i jealous of? if i want a car that does 173, i've got the funds to build it... so i'm not worried about being jealous about his car... but thanks..

I bet I can tell the difference between 79-93 Stangs while driving by doing 30ish. But that's just me and I'm a sick sick man.
