I havent looked into them in a while, but off the top of my head... The compressor wheel is supposed to be lighter, the turbine housing is made of a better material and is designed better, the outlet is 2.5"... I'm sure there are other advantages. I have seen one persons datalogs showing 44 lbs/min of airflow, which is nearly 20g limit. Now the 20g will be much more efficient at that level, but its still a surprise that a 16g can flow that. The most I saw on the 16g I ran was 40, and that was after I wired the WG shut Most people only get up to 45-48 lns/min. The same person trapped over 118 mph in a full weight 2G. The best part is at only ~580 bucks, its not much different than a standard Big 16g. My 2 cents.

check that out, I think it's pretty clear that the EVO 16g wins both around the same price too.

Its funny how we have made it plainly obvious that the EVO16g is superior, but people still keep voting for the other one.

i've ditched the 20g option for me and i'll be going with evo 16g unless something better comes along before then. decided mostly because of the cost: turbo itself, wastegate options.. etc

I don't think you HAVE to at low psi, but for sure if you want to flow lots of air, you want an intercooler that can keep up.

You can certainly run the stock IC with the EVO16g. Will you make the most of that turbo with a stock IC? Probably not. But a FMIC or whatever can be badded down the road to maximize its potential. To run 11s it will practically be mandatory. But I ran low 12s on a stock IC...

The "T3/T4" covers a massive range of turbo sizes (see my other thread on the subject) but in short they start at about the size of the EVO 16g, and go up to 600 whp range. They require a specific exhaust manifold and O2 housing, as well as an external gate, making them quite a bit more expensive than a bolt on, internally gated turbo like the 16g.
