o2 housings: 2g vs Evo III vs tubular
Hey guys. As many of you know, I am working on my setup for this summer. One thing I sort of want to get rid of is my ported 1g o2 housing. I've been looking at o2, Evo III, and tubular o2 housings. I know they are all upgrades, but I was wondering what would be best for my setup.
To refresh your memories, my exhaust side consists of an Evo III mani, Big 16g with a ported hotside (but I will get an 18g later), and a 3" turbo back w/ test pipe. The 16g flows about 39 lbs per minute and the FP 18g flows 600 cfm, or right about 45 lbs per minute. That said, which will suffice for my setup? I'd like to just get a tubular as I found them for $72 shipped, but I also found a 2g for $20 and a Evo III for $50. If I can get the 2g and be ok and save $50 I'd sure love to do that, but if I need to just spend the $72 then I'll do it. Thoughts would be great guys. |

Re: o2 housings: 2g vs Evo III vs tubular
i dont really know the difference but i got an external dump tubular o2 and i LOVE it... but i couldnt tell you if it was better then the stock one or not... but i can say it looks one HELL OF A LOT better... and the sound is different to (even with the wastegate closed) i noticed a huge drop in tone... its even deeper then it was before (also running no cat, as says the sig) so i would vote for the tubular, i would buy the tubular again, and again, and again! also i think paul (GSX RIDER *old name* now its Rock 1234 or something) he just picked one up, dont know if hes got it on the car yet or not, but i know he was talking about getting one... hope that helps??

|I'm using the e3 and it is fine. I guess they will all work for you pretty much the same. Just go with price and longevity. Its not like the part is very complicated

Re: o2 housings: 2g vs Evo III vs tubular
Ok. Well see I was planning on rounding out my speed setup before June which includes getting the WTB list in my sig plus the o2 housing, 2g MAF, and hard intake pipe. I realized though, all I need right off is DSMlink and probably injectors... the rest I can add is as I have money and find good deals. I still for sure want to have it done by July, but that will give me time to get shit sold. I'll go for the tubular, but I probably wont get it until one of the latter mods of this summer.

Re: o2 housings: 2g vs Evo III vs tubular
I just picked up the Evo III o2 housing and a AeM UEGO gauge - type controller. I still need both gaskets and now I hear that i need a aftermarket downpipe to get it on,.what else does it take >
