radio stays on without key?

My ol lady has a 2002 jetta 1.8T, the other day she went to start it and the battery was dead, jumped it and it was ok. But for some reason, when you take the key out, the radio stays on, and when she goes to unlock it, only the driver side door will unlock, even if you push the unlock button on the remote twice. seems weird that it happened at once, the battery probably went dead cuz the radio stayed on, but has anyone seen or heard of this problem?

Pretty sad that a cool looking car has it's own sight like that. Its twin the Audi has one too. I had to become a member when I had bought a brand new '01 Jetta GLS. Loved the car but it was horrible. It was in the shop for a solid 3 months one time! Make sure you keep all your paperwork and document anything the dealer tells you. I did and it helped me in my fight. I am not the suing kind but they really pissed me off.
