first kill with my new integra

Well I've had my 95 Integra for about four days now and finally lined up for the first time. I raced a 91 Prelude Si 5 spd. with intake, headers and exhaust. As far as I knwo that's all the guy has. My car is still stock. (Ironicly I had an intake and some headers in my trunk). We went on three honks. We both had a pretty got start with not too much wheelspin and right of the line I started pulling on him. I kept pulling steady until we hit about 90 mph and I shut down. By that time I was about 1 1/2 cars ahead of him. He pulled up next to me after the race, gav me the thumbs up and said "that four door 's got some go".
I don't really know how fast those Preludes are especially with bolt-ons but I was very surprised that I took him. After all it is a four door sedan with a non v-tec motor.

I just told it like it happened. By the time we hit about 90 or 95 mph you could have fit a car and a half in between mine and his. Oh and I was surprised just as much as anyone. I expected to be beaten.

A 91 Prelude is nothing, I def. believe you took it by at least a car length. Good kill though.

OR, a 91 prelude weighs more with less power and the guy was only a bit better driver.

sheesh...he told it like he saw it.

why lie about beating a 91 lude?

nice kill buddy...

How does the Integra RS, weighing in at 2550lbs (the lightest Integras before the ITR), having 142HP and 132 TQ, not beat a 1991 Prelude Si that weighs 2690lbs, with 140HP and 135TQ?

Even worse, he might've mis-identified, and the 'Lude might've been an '88-'90 model that only had 135HP and 127TQ.

Is it me, or is the collective car IQ on this board going down?

No knock on anybody that's actually contributing, but people have been quick to call BS lately without either researching, or thinking about what they're saying.

Well I go to school with the guy I raced and know his car is the 91 Si. I've looked up the weight of my car on autotrader and it was like 2623lbs. It said it was actually lighter than a Type R by 11lbs, which I can't really believe. I don't know how accurate the information on autotrader is though.

I think you should read before you decide to bash someone..
the prelude has some mods to it
an intake, exhaust, and headers means it has more than 140 hp and more than 135 tq
so next time you wanna be a smartass, stop.

Autotrader, and sites like that tend to generalize their numbers based on manufacturer numbers.

If you look, they rate the S2000 at 2,809lbs. My friend's S2000 weighs-in at 2,750 or so with no weight reductions and stock rims.

Maybe different weighing standards?

Anyhow...AutoTrader rates the 1991 Prelude 2.0 Si as such:
http://autotrader.com/research/model...&ac_afflt=none

Curb Weight.........2,712

* Horsepower: 135 @ 5800rpm
* Torque: 127 @ 5000rpm
