First Kill in new car

I made a trade over the weekend.
I HAD a 1982 Camaro Z28 HO 5.0 and basice boltons.
Intake, carb, headers doublehump heads, dual exhaust, Hooker mufflers(loved em!) built Turbo350 with shift kit. And it had Corvette Rally Wheels off of a 74 vette. It was a nice looking and good sounding ar for what it was. the best i could muster was a high 14 sec pass so i never bragged. Anyway, i guy down the road stopped buy my house this weekend when i was outside doing yardwork. He asked if i wanted to get rid of the camaro. I told him everything has a price and he said he would trade his 79 El Camino SS Straight across. I followed him home drove the elk and signed over titles an hour later. He gave me all the info he had on it and all receipts he could find.
383ci (estimated 600hp, he built it off of a 520hp crate engine) turbo400 built by B&M, GM 12 bolt 3.73,

Now on to the race. Sunday when i picked it up i had it at my house and a buddy stopped by to see it. He drives an 02(ish) Mustang GT and it his highly modded. We both know his car can run low 13's all day long so i wasnt sure what to expect out of the elk.

We headed south of town to Indian Road (It is called indian road because it is on reservation land, being there, no police officer in the state has jurisdiction on reservations except LightHorsemen which are hundreds of miles away) we line them up on a good 1/4 mile stretch and set an endpoint. his little brother flagged us and the first run i had him by about 4 car lengths. 2nd run we turned around and was heading back and he was out front and romped it trying to run, we was doing about 35 and he got the jump, i got into it and had about a car length on him by the time we got back to the starting point.

We ran a few more times with the same results. I am VERY happy with my new car and cant wait to line out a few more races. The strip doesnt open until March 4th and the cigarette lighter doesnt work for my Gtech so i dont have a clue on E.T.

P.S. Sorry so long

Re: First Kill in new car

seriously... you can pick those camaros up for a couple hundred bucks...and the "crate engine" in that elcamino is worth more than your whole car.

Re: First Kill in new car

the main reason is he was giving it to his son who is turning 16. he didnt like the 2 captain chairs and no room for friends. he also couldnt drive the ratchet shift auto stick and the el camino is in alot worse shape then the camaro. the sunroof leaks on the elk and there are rusts spots old tires and wheels and a broken grill. on the contrary the camaro was in excellent shape and the interior was completely re done. the guy i bought it from put in 30th Anniversary 97 camaro interior. everything i put on it was new since i bought it in October. Believe it or not because once the track opens i will have slips

You sure are quick to throw that flag up of yours. Show me a place where you can find a 3rd gen with those mods for a couple of hundred bucks. Car prices and value differs regionally and i dont know where you are but i got a steal on that car bone stock for $1500 and i put twice that in it. i can get that same 383 crate for 800 short block and 1300 long block with cast heads. so 800 short block and 500 in heads is not worth more then the car.

WTF is everybodys problem??? What do you want picture/copies of?? The camaro, el camino, my purchase order on the camaro, reciepts for the mods? what the fuck.....

I can't help but laugh at this, Highly modified and yet it runs low 13s? basic bolts ons (intake, exhaust, gears) which is light mods would put that car into the low 13s.. Highly modified

Uhhhhhuuuuhhhh?

Well, I believe the whole reservation part. The same is with my reservation up in New York. Cops hardly can do anything to you. We pretty much can get away with anything but smuggling (pretty big due to the fact Canada and New York is where our reservation lies).

As far as a the dude wanting to trade his "600HP" Camino for your basic bolton Camaro, I don't know. But say as you will. Just get us some pics and I'm sure you'll shut a lot of people up. L8...
